  1. Probably, but when you're dreaming, money is no object. :D And yup, I was planning on a lakewood bellhousing. On a side note, if you do get permission to go behind the scenes at the museum, let me know and I'll meet you there. I've been meaning to get up there for years now and never have. :(
  2. I'm assuming you've set up the gears properly?

    Who is this??

    Video no worky :redX:
  4. I always figured that the computer opened the injector. So it doesn't?
  5. We don't get a shot of it in the truck?
  6. As I understand it (and this applies to the 4.0 and FI 2.5), if the CPS is faulty, the computer won't fire the plugs or the injectors. If he's smelling gas, it could be something further down the line (like corrosion in the coil wire as I found in my 86, but not until after I blew up the muffler). I'm not saying that it can't still be the CPS, but if he's smelling gas, then it might not be the CPS. manche, have you been able to observe the injector while someone else was cranking? Is it squirting? Make sure you wear eye protection, just in case it backfires.
  7. Maybe. I thought the 2.5L computer controlled the spark and the injectors. Why would the computer open the injectors if it can't read the CPS?
  8. There will be a bunch of them. Jeep had a habit of putting everything into their wire harnesses and just leave the plugs alone if that particular truck didn't have that particular accessory.
  9. The Richmond 6-speed was the trans I was going to put into my Dakota R/T (after I won the lotto of course). It's $3k.
  10. Tech questions should probably go in the tech forum.
  11. That's certainly a possibility for later. One thing at a time though.
  12. That should work. I'd go with a 9". The benefits of the strength, extensive ratio choices, and then the adaptability at the track (refering to the drop out third member) are strong pro arguments.
  13. Like a swarm of angry mosquitoes. :D
  14. A common misconception. The iron duke and the AMC 2.5L are very different. They aren't even the same displacement if you list it in cubic inches.
  15. Looks like the decal will work out at a 10" size. They are absolutely swamped at the shop so this is taking longer than expected. I should have my hands on some come Monday. They will be white decals (like the "comancheclub.com" ones) and look something like this:
  16. Oil leaks are a Jeep's natural defense against rust. :D
  17. Black with a chrome lip, like the Firebirds of the 80s? I kinda like that idea. I may have to bring a can of paint with me on the next trip down. :brows:
  18. Oops. Forgot to show the pics of it's very first upgrade. Like most guys who get a truck, the first thing to go on were bigger tires. :D In this case, JB wanted his rims back and so I bought a set of local 235s on XJ rims to prop up the truck for the time being. shelbyluv was kind enough to pick them up from the lady and hold them until I could get down there. Old rims: New rims:
  19. in and of its self there is nothing wrong with the 96 OBDII setup. Technically you are right. It's just a personal beef with certain vehicles and their OBD 2 systems I've owned over the years. :D
  20. Tearing that thing out might have been the first mod I did to my 88. :D
  21. Yeah, while it might be possible to adapt it, I would personally seek out the 91-95 harness. You could be looking at a lot of time to fiddle the OBD-2 in. And even if you're successful, then you'd have OBD-2 and who wants that? :D
  22. I like it. Pretty clever. :D
  23. This site says it's been sold. :dunno: http://www.trucktrend.com/used/18/class ... index.html
  24. Maybe they got replaced. Or maybe the factory used different ones over the years. It very well might take a standard size socket. Our Comanches certainly contain a plethora of different bolt types and sizes.
  25. Um, you can keep it. :D The truck will be stored inside for quite some time. Plus I've got a good extra slider in the garage.
