  1. Comanches were never offered with 16" rims, so I'd say that build sheet is questionable at best.
  2. What is the specific benefit of the solid front axle? - Thanks -Stronger -fewer parts to break -easier to upgrade -easier to work on -easier to lift -less expensive You missed a couple. The ground clearance under the solid axle doesn't change as the springs compress. In IFS, the center section gets closer to the rocks when the springs are compressed. And then there's the best benefit of all: when offroading, as one tire gets pushed up due to uneven terrain, physics causes the system to actually push down on the other side, increasing traction on the drooping side. On IFS, the two sides are truly independent and when one side goes up, the other side just kinda hangs there with reduced traction. IFS does have some minor advantages, like a bit more static ground clearance (meaning when the truck is just sitting there), or a more car-like ride, or less unsprung weight (comes in handy for highspeed racing). But for regular offroading, I'll take a solid axle any day of the week.
  3. A shirt & sticker combo would be hard to do as the shirts are coming from me in FLorida and the stickers etc... are with Pete in Michigan. I would imagine that if you worked it out with Pete, he could mail me the stickers and I could pack them with the shirt/shirts for you  Send me your order & shipping information and I will get you a price for shipping and see if it's something you want to do. That shouldn't be a problem on my end. I can easily ship Taz the stickers. But you'll need to let me know what you want.
  4. I was able to fit 30" tires (a hair bigger then 235s) on my 4x2 MJ years back, but it was a very tight fit. 31s are likely too much.
  5. You guys are taking out the extra spaces on either side of the "@", aren't you? He's trying to be sneaky and thwart any spam bots looking for address.
  6. Sounds to me like an opportunity to upgrade. :brows:
  7. Did you fry the new switch too?
  8. The junkyards. Or in our classifieds forum. I'm sure someone has some lying around.
  9. A long crank time is typical for renix trucks. As long as it's consistent in its duration and reliable in operation, I tend to ignore it.
  10. Does it sputter and die? Or just shut off like you turned the key?
  11. Some years (I think the later ones) of Wagoneers are drivers drop. 95-01 are the best Explorer axles. They have disk brakes, can be found with 4.10 gears, and match the Jeep Dana 30 front axle in width and rim bolt pattern. Earlier years are pretty much the same, but have drums. As to them being "bolt-in", only Comanche rear axles are truly bolt-in. All other axles will require new perches welded on. And pretty much all rear axles take the same amount of effort to install. It's the front axle that's tricky. Try car-part.com for junkyard searching.
  12. The first time I ever heard about the procedure it was with the engine cold but running, and the sensor wasn't supposed to fully come out, just enough to bleed air out. I've not had the pleasure of doing it myself so I can't say.
  13. Did you have the engine running?
  14. What about a Grand Wagoneer front Dana 44 paired with a mid 90s Isuzu Rodeo rear Dana 44? The Rodeo/Amigo axle is the same width and rim bolt pattern as the GW front, and comes with 4.10 or 4.30 gears and disk brakes.
  15. Are you looking for just the fabric? Pretty much anything will do. I've got gray speakerbox carpet on mine.
  16. I trust my skills (to a certain degree). Not so much other people. Same goes for driving. You won't catch me tailgating. Too many idiots out in the world just lying in wait, hoping for the chance to ruin my day.
  17. There should be a tag attached to one of the diff cover bolts that should have a bunch of numbers on it. You're looking for "3 55" or 3L73" or "4 10", etc. if it has the L, it is a posi. If there is a space, it's open.

    Club T-shirts?

It's a significant fee to change the vectorized artwork (like $40). But I'll look into getting my hands on the original artwork I made way back when. It's on the business cards and and is essentially the logo you see, but with: "All Jeep Comanche, All the time" or some such thing underneath it. That would be free if I can get it. No promises though. :(
  19. Um, if I rotate the pinion up slightly from shackles, and then drop the t-case down slightly, wouldn't that compound the angle problem rather than canceling it?
  20. Couldn't you just put a bigger diameter hose on the one you've got now?
  21. Looks like fun. Although I for sure wouldn't be riding that close to the bike in front of me. Safety first ya know. :D
  22. He was supposedly the "goal line back" and the other guy was the regular running back. They had done pretty good before. It wasn't until they were both on my team that it didn't work. Everyone ont he Jets let me down. Just wasn't a good game for them I guess. Also, I sorta forgot that they were playing a Thursday game and hadn't technically made my final decision yet. :shake:
  23. I always need to check, because there have been plenty of times when someone thought they needed a new motor, but what they actually needed was a tuneup, or a new cat, or new parts in the fuel system. You know, things that a new block wouldn't fix. And yeah, it's pretty sweet having my baby in a book.
  24. Out of curiosity, wWhat's wrong with the engine you've got now?
  25. Yeah, I guess I can't complain too much. At least I'm tied for first in my division (with a bunch of people no longer playing). Had another RB get 0 points yesterday. :(
