Can you snap a picture? Maybe they sent you the wrong one? I've heard more than once about the S-10 handles and you're the first instance that said they don't work. I'm shooting blind here though since I don't have direct personal experience. :(

Costs for used parts can vary wildly by area. car-part.com might help find you your transmission/t-case (or at least show you the prices in your area). Do you have any you-pull-it junkyards near you? Occasionally it can be cheaper to buy an entire Jeep depending on the insanity of the j-yards in your neck of the woods. for the 4wheel conversion you'll need: front driveshaft complete 4x4 shifter linkage (including the little bracket that bolts to the underside of the floorpan) trans t-case (a 242 if you want all-wheel-drive capability on the streets) rear driveshaft (your current one can simply be cut down to fit or you'll need a shaft from an MJ with the same bed length, trans, engine and rear axle) Do you know if the gears in your front axle match the gears in your rear axle?

Yawn all ya want, if this one runs and drives and has a floor, it's leaps and bounds ahead of my other MJs and I'm not about to tear it apart until another one is up and running. :D Plus it's not mine just yet. I don't believe in jinxes, but I do believe in not counting my chickens before they hatch. I've been stymied at the last minute before. Phase 2 is complete though, as in the check reached my mom in GA today. Left a message for the guy that the money is ready. Will call again in the morning to try and get a hold of him to set up a delivery day.

Well, after a lot of searching, I can't find anything that lets me allow users to modify their own rankings, so I guess that has become a moot point. The only way I know is for me to create a "special" rank, then go into the users page and set their rank to that special rank. Also, I can't turn them off (which is what I'd like to do since they are pretty worthless).

5spd stick or 4spd stick? As James alluded to, the gearing in the axle might be the determining factor here.

Isn't there 8 bolts? The one I remember seeing was a photo of a bare comanche frame and someone had drawn colored dots on it with microsoft paint.

Do you know if the 86 2.5 is the same as the 86 2.8 bulkhead connector?
