  1. mine was on and off, hit or miss for a while, then it died for good. I'm trying to collect the whole set of lights. we've had the check engine light on ever since I unplugged that one sensor. the ABS, stability, and trac control since the wheel sensor issue, the tire pressure light since one of the pressure sensors died. and now the part time light is on even though it's in 2wd. :shake:
  2. yeah, like I'd be driving that around town. :D ....I know where it is...... :brows:
  3. the bottom line in ratios is that if the number is too low (which is called a high ratio) for you combo of engine size and tire diameter, your truck will be the biggest pile of sluggish crap. Too high of a number (which is called a low ratio). and it'll spin 4k on the freeway but will have gobs of lowspeed power. the key is finding the right middle ground
  4. might need an analog meter :dunno: (and I don't)
  5. for 15k they had BETTER have done an AX-15 conversion.
  6. even when I find out that mine is one or the other, yours could be "any of the above". and I've been told only the dealership has the brake scan tool to tell which corner it is (still won't tell you if it's the sensor or the line).
  7. if you find a Rodeo axle with 4.10s or 4.30s, get the front geared to match. (I believe 4.27 is the closest you'll get to 4.30, but it's within the accepted ratio discrepancies.)
  8. You too huh..... ABS light on the CRD yup. :shake: could still be the wire running to it, but slapping another sensor would be a quick check. if any junkyard around here had a KJ with rear disks. :fs1:
  9. oh, I saw that. the photo I posted almost looks like they didn't remove the body molding for painting. :dunno: but maybe it's just a scratch. a $200 paint job does not a $10k MJ make.
  10. hate to be the bearer of bad news, but that's a passenger side diff axle. :( it's upside down.
  11. is that a hint of red above the body molding? :hmm:
  12. if that truss has the stock MJ mounting points in it, then any MJ lift kit will work with it. just tell them to build your truss for an MJ/XJ.
  13. by "long-arm", I'm referring to the lifts that use arms that are much much longer than the stock arms and mount further back on the frame. when you lift up an MJ on stock control arms, the arms will angle down and the tire will be pulled backwards in the wheelwell (as well as mess up the caster of the front axle) as the assembly rotates. a "short arm lift" uses arms that are just a bit longer than stock, which pushes the tire back into the center of the wheelwell and fixes the caster. but the arms are still pointed down at a steep angle (a stock MJ's arms are pretty much level with the ground) and the impact forces of hitting bumps are harsher to your butt. Long-arms have a less steep angle and the benefits are a smoother ride (and generally more flex). the downsides are that they are more expensive and harder to install. with a 4.5" lift, you should be fine with a short-arm lift. above that though, you'd want to seriously look into longarms. Mostly I just wanted to make you aware that you had a choice. short arms: long arms:
  14. talk to HellCreek. he makes some 4.5" SUA leafs and mates them with appropriate front kits. Rough Country I think? not entirely sure, but his leafs have gotten nothing but good reviews. given any thought to long arms? I'm not sure what sort of budget you're contemplating.
  15. that's a real shame. :( any chance you grabbed the sunvisor clips? rear speed sensors? :brows:
  16. Get yourself a decent lift kit then. given any thought to SUA vs SOA yet?
  17. x2. along with that, you can try cleaning up the ground behind the drivers side taillight. that's where my fuel pump grounds.
  18. Thanks, I keep going back and fourth in my mind on what I am going to do. I can easily find a mid 90s Isuzu Rodeo in a local junk yard. and I can easily order a TNT Customs Truss for my front D44. If I do this can you post a few other upgrades I'll need? My friend at the shop that's helping me do it pointed to the control arms and told me I'll need to get new ones, more heavy duty ones, and he also asked me if I knew if the Truss came with control arm brackets, idk how else they would attach but I am still curious. I'll spend tomorrow looking stuff up. Thanks again, Casey What all are you planning to do with the truck?
  19. x2 on the XJ front axle. for a rear axle that matches this new front one of yours, you can go with a mid-90s v6 Isuzu Rodeo rear Dana 44. it has disk brakes and a 4.10 or 4.30 gear ratio and is the same width and bolt pattern as the Wagoneer axle. you just need to swap the flange for a U-joint version.
  20. :wavey: can't wait for photos.
  21. My guess is master. but if you're planning swap anyway, why not just go for it.
  22. me neither. might be a junkyard-only item.
  23. it might just need the shifter aligned.
  24. no prob. I'll send more out next chance I get.
