4wd MJ? it'll be real close. some 31s on stock rims can fit a stock 4wd MJ with a bit of rubbing on the lower control arms. This can be alleviated by adjusting the steering stops or swapping in WJ lower control arms. 31s on Jeep rims with WJ arms on my 90 4x4:

the projects forum is really more for us asking questions about your truck. your questions should go in the tech forum so that more eyes will see them (increasing the chances of a correct and thorough answer) and also that it will then be in the archives for searching. but while I'm here, frame stiffeners can be beneficial for XJs because they are overhyped grocery-getters. :D MJs were made for working and come with very strong and rigid frames. :thumbsup: rust is the one thing that MJs have to worry about since that can cause the frame to break in two.

:drool: I see it's that super rare short-short bed. :rotf: guess it wouldn't fit on the same chassis as the XJ body if it was full length.

I've got plaster walls (with metal mesh here and there) on the first floor. I fear punching holes. :( an electrician friend stopped by today to help out (for some reason I felt a bit better when the electrician is stumped :D ) and he told me: -the issue probably stems from a shared neutral somewhere (that's still a guess though) -I should start from scratch with that circuit and run new wire :( he gave me a lot of pointers for running wires without tearing apart the plaster walls, but he conceded that some of it won't be easy and that I might need to retain certain sections of the original wiring. But since most of this circuit is lights (only 2 outlets and I hope to pull both of them off of it anyway), it should be ok in the end as long as the old wires don't disintegrate when I touch them. :ack:

SOA gives anywhere from 4.5" up to 6" depending on the state of your leafs. the AAL lift sounds like the XJ version of the lift. The MJ version is probably SOA or possibly full leafpacks.

the fuel pump grounds at the same location and it's been known to hiccup when the brake lights are on. :thumbsup:

have you checked the big vacuum line going to the booster for leaks? have you cleaned the ground behind the taillight?
