yeah, that's mostly conjecture on my part. I no longer have a 2wd to check clearance on. :( and not all 31s are made the same. some are really only 30" tall, others are a bit over 31". individual results may vary. :D

an MK isn't a Wangler. the MK retains the 5 on 4.5 bolt pattern. The new wrangler has a 5 on 5" pattern. 2wd MJs sit lower than 4wd MJs and it'll be a reeeeal tight fit putting 31s in there. I'd say 30" tires are the max for a 2wd. my 88 with 30" BFGs: also, be prepared to hate driving an MJ with 31" tires and 3.07 gears. :ack:

lord only knows. my parents are going back to georgia soon and the Jeep goes with them. again. :( chances are real good you'll be doing the belt change first. changing anything else at the time? (pump, pullys etc) If you could send a sensor, that'd be awesome. :bowdown: although I'm assuming they are the same sensor at each wheel?

in my opinion 3.07 gears SUCK under any conditions. :fs1: 3.55 geared axles are by far the most common axles under XJs (4.0/auto) and would be much better (but still not quite ideal)

sure fixed the shift light in the 88. :D

mine was on and off, hit or miss for a while, then it died for good. I'm trying to collect the whole set of lights. :yes: we've had the check engine light on ever since I unplugged that one sensor. the ABS, stability, and trac control since the wheel sensor issue, the tire pressure light since one of the pressure sensors died. and now the part time light is on even though it's in 2wd. :shake:

the bottom line in ratios is that if the number is too low (which is called a high ratio) for you combo of engine size and tire diameter, your truck will be the biggest pile of sluggish crap. Too high of a number (which is called a low ratio). and it'll spin 4k on the freeway but will have gobs of lowspeed power. the key is finding the right middle ground

might need an analog meter :dunno: (and I don't)

for 15k they had BETTER have done an AX-15 conversion. :no:

even when I find out that mine is one or the other, yours could be "any of the above". and I've been told only the dealership has the brake scan tool to tell which corner it is (still won't tell you if it's the sensor or the line).

if you find a Rodeo axle with 4.10s or 4.30s, get the front geared to match. (I believe 4.27 is the closest you'll get to 4.30, but it's within the accepted ratio discrepancies.)

oh, I saw that. the photo I posted almost looks like they didn't remove the body molding for painting. :dunno: but maybe it's just a scratch. a $200 paint job does not a $10k MJ make. :no:

hate to be the bearer of bad news, but that's a passenger side diff axle. :( it's upside down.

is that a hint of red above the body molding? :hmm:

if that truss has the stock MJ mounting points in it, then any MJ lift kit will work with it. :thumbsup: just tell them to build your truss for an MJ/XJ.
