Nice letter (and MJ pic) in JP........ Jeff
  3. Since the weather has gone to hell around here, I’ve started on some inside projects until it warms up again. I’ve been slowly building the garage up, after epoxying the floor before we moved in. Started with a basic shelving unit a couple months ago, and built a small workbench beside it: Image Not Found Image Not Found Image Not Found It stayed that way up until this weekend (my wife bought me a radial arm/compound saw for Christmas, and I had to try it out). Added a reinforced shelf above the bench, some pegboard, and a set of shelves on the other wall to stash all the Christmas junk on: Image Not Found Image Not Found Image Not Found I still need to wire in more outlets (with the help of my electrician neighbor) and mount the compressor up off the floor, but it’s getting there….. all the crap on the shelves is what we're down to leftover after the move, and we're figuring out what to do with. My vote has already been cast for the dumpster, but I think I'm being overruled :( Jeff
  4. welch (aka "freeze") plugs check exhaust manifold for cracking, replace if needed motor mounts OFA O-rings Jeff
  5. LOL......darn near fatal weather for Virginia though. It never got out of the 20's all day, and windy as all get out. Canned chili never tasted so good ;)
  6. yeah....Petersburg battlefield is like 5 minutes from my doorstep. Had to drive 25 minutes north so we could all drive back down PAST my house to see it, and then back up for the chili ;) Jamestown Settlement is flat out awesome. If anyone here makes a visit to this part of VA and you care at all about American history, please take time out to visit it. Trust me, you will not be disappointed.... Jeff

  8. No...not THAT kind of topless..... our local club (Southside Jeepers) did a Jeep topless/doorless/windowless run today (club is mostly CJ/YJ/TJ's) down to a local national park. We met at headquarters early this morning, each bringing 2 cans of chili and fixins, and a roll of toilet paper. We all took off in the jeeps while most of the womenfolk stayed back and fixed up the chili, hot cocoa and garlic cheesy bread for when we got back about 6 hours later. All in all, a great family day and a great way to start off the new year  Jeff couple pics:
  9. make sure you throw a CC magnet in the box when you ship them...... :D Jeff
  10. I redid the floorboards with that stuff a couple years ago.....it looked nice when it went on, but it is starting to flake off now in places. I'll admit my surface prep wasn't all that great, so that may be a factor. That and the damn spray nozzles on the cans kept clogging up. I had to keep cleaning them with a straight pin. No me gusta. Jeff
  11. pure bootyfab............ :D congrats Paul  Jeff
  12. I've not seen nutserts at any local places (i.e. Lowe's, Home Despot, etc.), but I do know that Fastenal sells them. FWIW, you could use a self-tapping bolt into the hole in the framerail....the nutsert is just a bit more sturdy. Jeff
  13. in short, yes.... there are a couple linkage parts specific to only the AX15....the bracket that bolts to the tranny tunnel that has the little orbit ball in it, the bracket that installs to the two tranny-to-TC studs, and the rod that connects the trunion to the range selector on the TC. The in-cab shifter and the trunion don't matter, they are interchangeable between trannies. Jeff
  14. Sweet baby Jesus on a Friday..... I got a house that needs moved, could I borrow? :D  Jeff
  15. you needed to move the crossmember back on the framerails to the next set of holes....... but ^^that^^ will work too, I suppose ;) Jeff
  16. I picked up one of these from the local hot rod shop after work last night.......I'm definately impressed with it and I haven't even gotten it on yet (maybe tonight after work). Dual chamber, all welded...the thing weighs at least 5 lbs  Image Not Found Image Not Found Image Not Found will be replacing the current glasspack.....it's cool and all, but has become a bit annoying, plus it doesn't have a spark arrestor Image Not Found Image Not Found

  18. The BA10/AX5/AW4 (same part) crossmember will bolt up just fine, but the transfer case linkage will not line up, and the cat converter/flange will contact the floorboard. The AX15 crossmember has a 1" notch in the center where the tranny mount attaches.......you could probably use the other crossmember with some kind of homebrew TC drop, though, if you didn't have an AX15 one handy. 19. Copied from a post on NAXJA..... http://www.paintscratch.com/ Good stuff, especially for you guys (and gals) that have the good looking MJ's ;) Jeff
  20. there is (was, maybe...haven't been down in a week or so) an MJ in the local 'yard up here. Last I saw it the rear 35 was still there... that said, you can get a set of new spring perches (JEGS, Mopar, etc.) for about $20 shipped to you, and get them welded on the XJ axle for short change. Jeff
  21. I think I just wet myself a little...... Jeff
  22.
  23. Scrambler (CJ-8)???? Jeff
