Nice....congrats Need to see some Jeeps on that driveway. Lol.

Update, not good. The mayor got shouted down, and is now planning to lead a march from the state Capitol downtown out to the monument where crap went down last night. I95 and a couple main feeder roads into downtown are being blocked off. VANG is rolling hot to the scene now...March is supposed to start at 1800. This is not going to end well. Not at all.

The current Richmond mayor has definite political aspirations (of the federal variety). I'm too much of a cynic to not think he's doing this as a PR stunt.
-
Well, this doesn't help the situation at all.....Richmond PD deployed tear gas on a crowd last night (again). They were not "rioters". They were protesting. The Chief already issued an apology statement saying the officers involved have been pulled from the street (last night). Mayor is scheduled to make a public apology outside City Hall this afternoon. I hope it doesn't get ugly. https://www.wric.com/news/local-news/richmond/mayor-stoney-wants-to-apologize-to-peaceful-protestors-tear-gassed-before-curfew/

What is the fluid level inside your clutch master? If you felt it through the pedal, then either the clutch master cylinder or the slave (inside the bellhousing) crapped out.Take a look inside the cab above the fuseblock, and also underneath the trans at the bottom of the bellhousing, for dripping fluid. My bet is the slave died....and that requires pulling the transmission to diagnose/repair/replace, unfortunately.

Ooooof.
-
Exactly. And the insurrections are being targeted in specific (demographic) areas across the country. It's sickening to watch.
-
That was incredible....I was VERY nervous to watch that.
-
It's being set up. Soros is laughing meniacally in his rocking chair. Ill leave it at that, lest it gets too political. But, that's what's going on. Keep your powder dry.

From that second pic....there's no denying you're related. You look like twins, lol.

Yeah, whole list of crap. We have reservations to stay on property again (Caribbean Beach), which is good. I'm just wondering if it's going to be worth it. The food and wine festival at Epcot is the big draw for us, and it's either gonna be cancelled or have so many restrictions on it that it'll be pointless. We'll see what happens, we're not going until October (I think). Alternate vacation plans are our friends in Wilmington, or Jacksonville, or we might just hit OBX this year and say the hell with it all. Yeah, they have to prepare for a visual if the launch and ascent, plus have a good area available off the coast JIC of an abort and a crash landing. I would not want to be the guy who had to make the go call on this launch....ill be honest and say I would have made the same call. Talk about a pressure situation, lol.
-
They are strapped in but the range condition is "red" for weather Final go/no go call is 45 minutes prior to launch (about 30 minutes from now). I'd rather they scrub out of caution than try to launch into questionable weather. Fingers crossed.

^^^^show off Missi and I are planning to be down your way again later on this summer (that is, if Disney decides to open back up again......). We need to get the 2nd annual FL pow-wow in the planning stages. I'd actually like to take a day and do the space coast. We were close to it a couple years ago, stayed on Cocoa Beach pre-cruise, but just didn't have enough time to make a visit worthwhile. One of my bucket list items was to watch a shuttle launch live/in person. Too bad that'll never happen (although I did get to see one of the shuttles in person.....Udvar-Hazy museum up here just south of DC has Discovery on display. One word....incredible https://airandspace.si.edu/collection-objects/space-shuttle-discovery/nasm_A20120325000).

I've got my DVR set to record it all....but I'm hoping to be home from work in time to watch it live. Might ask the boss if I can head out a bit early today

My Irwin combination screwdriver. I have a couple of them...one for the 'yard bag, one for the garage, and one for "inside the house" work (that isn't all greasy, LOL) https://shop.rplumber.com/c/hand-tools/screwdrivers-nut-drivers/screwdrivers/p/9-in-1-multi-tool-screwdriver

My transmission pan (45RFE) had some rust cancer on it, the only rust on the entire vehicle. Apparently it's a pretty common thing. Plus is was leaking from the back corner where the RTV failed, so I decided to swap it out yesterday. I also replaced the flat filter and the spin-on/canister filter. What a mess that was, lol. Since I didn't care about the pan, I drained it the easy way, via 7/16" drill bit, before I unbolted it (still made a mess though). The new pan has a drain plug, which is nice. I underestimated the amount of fluid the pan held though....I bought 5 quarts and ended up having to run back down to AA for 4 more, and used just about all of them. Now I can drive it for a week or so, then pull the drain and refill it with 9 new quarts of fluid and complete a full "flush". I do have to say that it shifts much smoother now.

^^^I can't say I disagree with that. Any time you put a load on jack stands, you should shake the hell out of the load, in several directions before you ever think of sliding underneath. If a stand is going to fail you want it to fail before you commit to endangering your life. I've got several sets of HF stands, from 2 ton up to 12 ton, purchased many years ago and they all still function fine provided you do due dillagence when deploying them. Just like any other jack stand. If the pawl and/or teeth are service worn, throw them out and buy some new ones. Theres a little bit of self responsibility involved here with these recalls and IMO it's only getting worse. I subscribe to Consumer Reports, and in every issue is a whole section dedicated to manufacturer recalls every month. It's almost comical to read some (most) all of the announced recalls. The majority of them are no more than a CYA from the manufacturer because the average consumer is an idiot. /rant off

Relatively speaking, it's not a hard job to do yourself. Being 2WD makes it even easier (no transfer case/linkage mess to deal with....). We could all walk you through it online if you wanted to tackle it yourself. Heck, if I were anywhere remotely close to you I'd pop over and do it on a Saturday. (apologies in advance if there's a situation we don't know about preventing you from doing it though )

Were in in it for 29 years now....I definitely married up. She's a keeper, even though she doesn't eat leftovers. ^^^that looks absolutely awesome. I might just go get a mini combination pizza just so I can make that.
-
Pizza eggs are definitely on the list Pete. Missi and I split a medium pepperoni for lunch yesterday and had one slice leftover. She chucked it...woulda been perfect to try out

Went to 3 different supermarkets this morning looking for a pork butt to smoke...no dice. I ended up getting a chuck tender, which I dry rubbed and is just about to go on the charcoal to become pit beef. I got some nice crusty rolls, a half dozen ears of Florida corn and I made some marinated dukes to go with. Also made up a nice horseradish sauce to go with the beef. Dinner ETA is about 2 hours....ill pass the time with some mojitos.

Stripped rear drum brakes
mjeff87 replied to conrad_the_mj's topic in MJ Tech: Modification and Repairs
Depending on condition, I would start soaking down the flare nut on the end of the brake line that goes into the wheel cylinder now with your penetrant of choice. They like to rust-weld themselves into a single piece. Use a good quality flare nut wrench to loosen them also.
