  1. You got a good deal too since you were originally going west empty.
  2. I've never seen a vacuum harness for the 2.5 offered by anyone except from the dealer like below. If the Dorman harness looks close, buy it. Vacuum hoses and connectors are easy to modify if you need to. https://www.moparpartsoverstock.com/showAssembly.aspx?ukey_assembly=920732&ukey_make=1097&modelYear=1990&ukey_model=15923
  3. Thanks. I've recently bypassed my radiator tranny cooler and added another external tranny cooler, and was curious how your AW4 did in that extreme cold. It's very rare when the temps get to 0*F here; the lower teens is about as cold as it ever gets. And that's not often.
  4. How does your AW4 shift at first when cold in weather like that?
  5. Nice work Rockfrog - looks like a standalone HO speedo is doable electrically. Would be a great mod to dump the speedo cable for the Renix people. I'll dig around thru my 91 Electrical Manual and see if I can find the complete VSS-to-speedo gauge signal path. Pics of the HO speedo below. I don't remember if it will physically mount in the Renix gauge housing easily or not. Look like it will?
  6. 1. 14.40 v 2. 4.36 v (using Standard Ignition Resistor RU29T, 1.6 Ω) 3. Bosch 69302 Note: FP pressure = 39psi w. vacuum, 49psi w/o vacuum
  7. Why are you excluding the HOs? Same pump, ballast resistor, and voltage feed.
  8. Use an ohmmeter.

  10. The ECU is not seeing the alternator - open circuit I'd guess. Check the PDC fuses..
  11. Normal. Well, was worth a shot. It does show however that the ECU is probably okay..
  12. Thanks - video is history.
  13. Have you tried checking for OBD1 fault codes? https://comancheclub.com/topic/28111-reading-obdi-91-and-92-mj-fault-codes/
  14. Si - my bad. Still curious to know which alt the OP is using w. the 93 wiring...
  15. What alternator is on it? The correct HO Nippon-Denso alternator, or a Renix Delco? I'm guessing the Delco since the OP jury-rigged in an external voltage regulator.
  16. Remove the upper and lower barbed hose fittings from the tranny cooler and cap the two nipples with 1/2" ID neoprene plugs. They won't pop off.....
  17. MJ Front: Jeep JK Rubicon rear shocks (21.930" - 14.020"). MJ Rear: Jeep JK Rubicon front shocks (21.850" - 13.740").
  18. Thanks - Carbonite or similar sounds like exactly what I'm looking for.
  19. Exactly what I was looking for. I learned a lot on this thread - thanks for all the contributions.
  20. Excellent explanation Gog - thanks.
  21. I'll look into it some more too. Have never fully understood how my speedo worked - it's definitely unconventional. Rockfrog has cleared it up a bit.
  22. cbreiter, whereabouts in Bama will you be heading?
  23. I followed the speedo input signal wire back earlier today in my 91 FSM manuals. It went eventually to the ECU. Check it out - I could definitely be mistaken as it went through several pages of wiring diagrams before it got to the ECU....
  24. Windows 7. I have the original CD and could reinstall on a new HD. Going back to my original question: I know Windows backup creates a mirror image, but has anyone actually restored a backup copy derived from the Windows backup command to a new HD using the Windows restore command? If so, is the result an exact copy of the original?
