  1. I formerly used a shop in W. Virginia to do occasional chrome plating, but they have retired from the business. Anyone know of a good shop that still does quality plating for automotive trim at reasonable prices and a fairly quick turnaround?
  2. Agree - that Super Cap Seal looks like good stuff. If I ever take my topper off again, that's what I'll be using.
  3. To do it correctly you should adjust your brake shoes first with a brake spoon using the star wheel on both sides till you can barely hear them dragging inside the drums. Then adjust the e-brake cable to take out any excess slack.
  4. This. All the blabbering that's been posted means nothing until you determine what gearing you have. 33" tires with 3.55 or numerically lower gears is very short gearing and kills top speed and mileage. Pull the diff cover and see what you have.
  5. Redneck engineering at it's best. I love what you're doing to this thing, and sounds like you are having a lot of fun doing it. It's all good.
  6. API LDTT200P Topper TapeĀ® for Mounting Truck Caps / Camper Shells
  7. Possibly. Try swapping it out with another one from the PDC.
  8. Mopar p/n 83503637 for your 4.0 Renix. Ebay, Amazon, etc. Probably the regulator will need new rings too... https://www.amazon.com/Cherokee-1987-1990-Motor-Injector-Replacement/dp/B00B7CQW2K/ref=sr_1_3?s=automotive&ie=UTF8&qid=1522515414&sr=1-3&keywords=83503637
  9. Love everything in your build thread so far except that Auburn banner hanging in the garage. ROLL TIDE!
  10. I don't use oil on any of the cables (throttle, hood release, kick-down, shifter, etc.), it'll gum them up eventually. Use a dry lube with an injector needle so you can squirt lube under the cable sheath and let it run down the wire. This is a good example:
  11. New style - it'll work with the adapters. https://www.ebay.com/itm/New-Electric-Fuel-Pump-Gas-Jeep-Wrangler-Cherokee-Comanche-4637192-4637193-/300847725394
  12. Wrong. The TCUs were separate units from the ECU throughout the XJ years. 98-01 XJ TCU
  13. This hasn't happened to me, but I've read that a defective ASD (auto shut-down) relay can negatively affect the charging system. Just for grins, swap it out with one of the adjacent relays in the PDC. They are all the same relay in that row.
  14. Yes, I know what it is, what it does, and why it's on the 2.5's. Just wanted to know how the switch is plumbed in....
  15. It's also a .jpg image. https://comancheclub.com/uploads/monthly_2018_03/amx.jpg.718f7842ad4b0593bd07e3d5dd2a1571.jpg

  17. That's less than half of what the Mopar kit would cost. Course the Mopar's MPI too...
  18. Yes, they are used only on the 2.5's. Where does it screw into? Is there a "T" fitting on the high pressure hose?
  19. Let me rephrase the question: "I'm waiting for my new high pressure sensor to arrive from team cherokee to do this on mine next week." Is this HP switch for the 2.5?

  21. Where did you get the new full-gauge Renix cluster? Junk yard, Ebay, ? Might be best if you tried another cluster at this point...
  22. The Howell 2-barrel TBI kit Ben? Looks like a nice kit for the 4.2.
  23. That's momma's truck. You'll have to fight her for that! No thanks! I'd rather fight you.
  24. You can drop Henry off here on your way back east when the time comes. I'll give Henry a good home.
