Rob, wouldn't that nice tailgate be so much sweeter if it had the Metric Ton badge on it?

    MTD Tractor

I think the only way it could be + ground is if it is a 6VDC system. Most all yard tractors went to - ground when they converted to 12VDC systems. Not positive about MTD though - pun intended. :D
  5. I seriously doubt you will find longer studs for the front with .630 knurls. Most manufacturers list a +/- .005 tolerance on the knurl diameter, so why not try a longer stud with a .625 knurl? Plenty of these around and I'm pretty sure they will press in tightly. Try one and see.

  7. Rule of thumb for wheel stud length is six complete turns (minimum) of the lug nut before it bottoms out on the rim. But I'd prefer a couple of turns over minimum.

    Osama is Dead.

All I see is a bunch of fools yakking about Obama and not a word mentioning the fine work of USN SEAL Team Six, one of the best of the best. I'm hoping full details will be released soon and shut up the media. I'm also sure Obama was clueless about their mission and is now reaping it for all it's political worth.
  9. WE HAVE POWER!!!! YAY!!!! :jump: Power was down from Wednesday night until Monday night. But over 1/2 of the state is still down. The olde Harbor Freight generator performed flawlessly. IB a happy MOFO now. :D
  10. This is true. :(

  12. Would be nice if it was powered by 12V switched. Wonder how long the batteries last since it's on all the time? Would be a PITA popping it out of the hole to change batteries.
  13. My daughter came home last night from Tuscaloosa. This video her and her AF ROTC mates helped shoot. She's heading back tomorrow to help out with food, clothes, etc.
  14. You're going to the place that probably needs help the most. My daughter's about 20 minutes from home here after leaving Tuscaloosa because a tree destroyed the off-campus house she was in with while attending UA. She's been stopped three times by police and Guard troops looking for looters since leaving the I-20 in Birmingham. The scumbags are very active in Tuscaloosa and Birmingham and curfews are in effect. Good to hear the cops and Guard are keeping an eye on things and they have helped her around the detours.
  15. Hey Jeff - can you bring some power up to Arab? We're still dead in the water. We are getting word that some of the surrounding areas that were hit harder than us have restored power, but not the good ol' freaking Mom and Pop power company here. :fs1:
  16. :rotf: Notice the footwear and the inbred Rottweiler.
  17. Gary; Definitely yes on the Mitsu radio. I did replace the door speakers but not the rear speakers. What's even better is that it pulls in stations that I could never receive before.
  18. Thanks Joe. I was in Japan TDY when Paka hit Guam, and could not get out for a week to go home as the Guam civilian airport runway was closed due to debris. Finally got a ride back on a C130 to Andersen AFB. Mama handled it alone with the kids and did well as always. We were w/o power for over two months in that ordeal, but was a piece of cake compared to Pinatubo. :ack: Always had a generator since those times. Still no power here except via generator, but at least now I can get gas locally by waiting in line for a couple of hours. They're talking more storms coming thru Wed/Thurs next week. Took a long ride thru the boonies today on the bike and after all the wreckage I saw, we were very fortunate here. Ran into an all-black line crew from Sumter, SC down here clearing trees and restoring aerial power lines, and stopped to thank every one of them. Great bunch of guys busting their @$$ to help. Was a wonderful experience talking with these dedicated guys in the middle of nowhere, AL. My daughter recovered her car today from her ex-house in Tuscaloosa, lots of dents and scratches from the fallen trees, but it's drivable. Lots of looting going on down there as there always is by the scumbags. Curfews in place and the cops are doing a great job. UA has cancelled finals and is letting the students out early as they are nearly dead in the water power-wise. She's been out leading her AF ROTC troops helping out in the more devastated Tuscaloosa civilian community areas and hopefully she will be coming home in a few days. She's tough as nails because she's been through a lot worse in some of the places she where grew up and learned well. Ah well, we be making it.

  20. Cullman county is the next county west of me. They took a hard hit. I had to drive 100 miles south today in the MJ to find gas for the generator, and the devastation was horrible. The power lines were still on the roads but the trees had already been cleared. Several line crews on-site from NC, SC, VA, etc. giving our local boys a hand. Man, I've been thru the Mt. Pinatubo volcanic eruption, Typhoon Paka that leveled Guam, and numerous other typhoons, and this ranks right up there. 280 body count so far and many more unaccounted for. And dead animals and birds everywhere in the fields. Damn vultures and turkey buzzards survived though. We were very lucky in my area, just trees transplanted, but the main TVA feed from N. Alabama that 90% on the rest of the state was completely wiped out. I think we're in for many many more days w/o power. The Inet comes on maybe 1-2 hours a day, so that's good. We're stocked up pretty well on food, have water, and the generator will power the fridges to keep stuff from rotting. And the brew cold.
  21. Holy crap, what a day. A little bit after my previous email, another front came through. I was in the garage when a tornado touched down right across the street, ripped up a few Bartlett pear trees, came across the road and yanked a huge maple tree right on the corner of my driveway and dropped it right across my neighbor's driveway. Then it went back across and ripped out every tree for about a quarter of a mile down the road until it died. Luckily none of the trees fell on anyone's house. One of the neighbors got a video of it on her cell phone and as soon as we get power restored (I'm on generator now and miraculously the inet is up) she'll send it to me and I'll post it up. It looks good on her cell phone. We've been cutting trees up all day between tornado warnings and I'm beat. The generator is keeping my beer cold and I expect my neighbors over any time (BYOB) since I'm the only one that has a generator. Heard from my daughter who is going to school at UA in Tuscaloosa. A tree fell on the house by a tornado where she is living off-campus (she was in class when it happened) and is now living in a shelter on campus since the house is AFU. It's been a wonderful day.
  22. I don't think so. Especially in my case when my master went dry. But I have a similar problem as you, lots of air, but the brakes are excellent and the pedal is firm just like before. Wish I knew what to tell you. :dunno:
  23. Yeah Jeff. Some close calls early this morning, and another bigger front coming through now. This one looks like it will pass just north of us. Six deaths confirmed and tornadoes touching down still. Damn I hate this crap.
  24. One more thing to try. Do you have a timing light? The timing is not adjustable on the HO engines, but the marks are there on the harmonic balancer and the timing gear case. Hook the light up to #1 cylinder and it should read about 12-14* advance @ 2000 RPM or so, and most importantly the strobe should be steady, not jumping around. If it's jumping around the distributor gear could be off a tooth or worn, a sloppy bad bearing, or a faulty stator sensor in the distributor. Easiest fix for this is a new/rebuilt distributor. Can't get parts easily to rebuild them anymore. Don't think this would cause the fault codes you are experiencing though. ECU? I would replace it w. the same one that's there now. But a substitute close year would work for troubleshooting if it clears the codes and corrects the symptoms. Jeep FSMs come up on Ebay all the time, prolly your best source. 91/92 FSMs are basically the same, both are early OBDI systems.
  25. If you don't have the factory FSM, you should get one. Here's a link that's close: http://www.allpar.com/SUVs/jeep/cherokee-transmission.html Mine did it after I swapped in the 99+ intake manifold, and it took a few tries to get the cable right. It wasn't exactly a misfire, but more like a 4-barrel carb loading up and going nowhere when I stomped it. I had no fault codes either. If adjusting the cable doesn't help, might be time to start looking for a substitute ECU to try. :(
