  1. I've had the same 3+2 MT springs on for about four years now. Hauled tons of crap in the back in that time including the permanent fiberglass cap. Total settle is 1/2". They don't settle because of the two overload leafs. To get the front up I recommend a set of OME 630 front coils. Smooth ride, good handling, and a full 3" lift up front. They don't settle either. Then I replaced the rear shackles with a set of Teraflex greasables. Gave it a slight rake like I wanted and it stays that way.
  2. Yep, they're pretty decent. We DO have a serious series now. :D Cards closer Motte was pulled too early. First wrong button by LaRussa. This I think will prove very important later in the series.
  3. Yep, they lose tonight it's prolly over. 1-0 Cards, bottom of the 7th. But I'm sure you know that. LaRussa's pushing all the right buttons so far. The Rangers bats are dead.

    Teardrop!

It's a 3-speed under the column looks like. Saw quite a few of these in the Korean boonies.
  5. I don't know what Benz's you have but I had a slew of W124s and W201s. First thing I did on all of them was to get a buddy stationed in Germany to scour the junkyards and ship me over a set of the local Euro headlight assemblies. The Europeans are light years ahead of us in automotive lighting. Pun intended. :D
  6. On the 91 the TC unlock wire from the brake switch is WHT/PNK. It comes from the NC contacts of the switch and terminates at TCU pin C10. WHT/TAN is the brake lamps, But in your case, :dunno:
  7. Read Eagles reply above.
  8. 12*-14* BTDC is what you normally see with w. a timing light no matter what CPS you have.
  9. I've been busy tracking down an AW4 problem too. Had a MAP and Cruise code fault and it was running about 300 RPM too high while cruising. No torque converter lockup I surmised. I tested the solenoids at the 7-pin grey plug at the back of the engine bay (easier than at the TCU connector), all were right at 15 ohms. Changed out the MAP, no help. The next step was to pull the speed sensor and bench test it like here: http://www.ehow.com/how_7683994_check-transmission-speed-sensors.html. But first I checked the brake switch. When the pedal is up (no braking), a closed contact completes the circuit to the TCU and allows TC lockup. When braking the switch opens unlocking the TC. My brake switch was not closing all the way to allow continuity to the TCU, so the TC wouldn't lock up. All it took was an adjustment and the TC locks up fine now. No more fault codes either. Sooo Jake-man, check your brake switch contacts before pulling the speed sensor.
  10. ^^ Guess he didn't get it. :shake:
  11. You're right, to each his own. I used Interstate batteries exclusively for years, but the last few I bought (mostly motorcycle batteries) have been crap. I have five vehicles now, and all of them have the Autozone Duralast yellow tops. The oldest is eight; the youngest three. And they're not that expensive to begin with.
  12. :agree: I'd rather have a warranty.
  13. Way to go Remi. I really envy you, she looks damn fine.  Well worth $1K IMHO. Glad the accident didn't bend the axle.

  15. My error, you're right of course. Was thinking of the Renix idle stepper motor.
  16. Understand. Sounds like the federal government TDY policy.
  17. Brackets are different.
  18. How enlightening. Then why do you continue to rent them if they are trash? OP, get a 6th generation (2004–2008) Chevy Malibu w. the base 2.2 L I4. No maintenance required until it reaches 200K miles. Then it needs an oil change. No class, no power, just runs and runs. Car of the year a couple of times during this span and runner-up also.
  19. Get the ECU. That is a good deal.
  20. Are you referring to the ignition starter switch on the column? Good possibility if so. Check the ignition starter switch, left side of the lower steering column. Press the switch by hand tight to the column and try to start. If not, remove and look for burnt contacts on the switch and it's connector.
  21. I agree, but good luck finding the OEM HO A/C delete parts.
