  2. ASSuming you have 3.55 gearing, 31" tires, and the correct 32-tooth speedometer gear installed : RPM's at 65 MPH/105 KPH w/ 3.55:1 axle gears running 31's: 1,876 RPM. So at 70 MPH you should be turning ~2020 RPM.

  5. There you have it OP - problem solved. :hmm:
  6. There are no aftermarket fuel senders for an MJ - wish there were. There were over twenty different senders made for MJs throughout the years due to differences in tank size and Renix / HO models. Non-accurate fuel gauges are not typical - there's a reason why it's not accurate, most commonly caused by corrosion over 20+ years on the fuel gauge circuit junction points.
  7. The Autozone sender you linked to is for a Cherokee, not a Comanche - won''t fit. The XJ sender is a mirror image of the MJ sender. Can you return the carter pump and exchange it for the Bosch pump? I know they fit.
  8. How come the new bushing looks a bit beat up?
  9. Try pointing it slightly below horizontal. Think how it works. Normal (unloaded) the arm should be horizontal. There's a rigid rod from the end of the arm up to the chassis. Put weight in the bed. More weight needs more brakes. Bed goes down, rod goes down, axle stays at same height ==> arm goes down. I don't think so. More weight, bed goes down closer to the axle. So the stationary rod moves the valve arm up (not down) above horizontal to the axle to increase rear brake bias. So try pointing it slightly above horizontal.
  10. My typo - I meant 360*. Yes, that's normal.
  11. You won't feel any resistance when rotating the LSV arm. The arm position based on the vehicle height varies the valve's internal fluid port size to change the bias to the rear brakes. If should rotate freely 180* (EDIT: 360*). If it doesn't there's something wrong. Did you snug up your brake shoes so they just rub on the drums when rotating the wheels?

    Good Grief!

Yep. The intermittent wiper module a lot of us have is one of them. Probably just a glorified resistor network, but still a wiper control module. The "fix" is easy. Just unplug it and remove it from the harness or replace it. Probably a replacement issue with the new Cherokees also, just with more shielding on the module.
  13. Yes Tom, especially the piston and it's internals. Make sure nothing is frozen stuck and none of the springs are broken. I had a pump puking fluid in an old Chevy (same pump as the Jeep) and a sticking piston was the cause of the excess pressure. Worth a shot if you can't bleed it.
  14. ^^ What I was thinking.
  15. Sounds like the pressure relief valve might be clogged or stuck because it's puking fluid out the cap. You can pull it out and check it w/o removing the pump, but you need to remove the high pressure hose to get to it. Was this the hose that burst? This link will show it's location: http://westtexasoffroad.homestead.com/powersteering.html
  16. Marine exhaust flapper. Install when needed.
  17. Beautiful welds on the PSC reservoir. Must be machine made, si?
  18. The Swedish Christian Cross is nice and symmetrical Pete, but I kind of like the simplicity of the Japanese Rising Sun myself. But unfortunately I don't like Mini Coopers at all. :rotfl2: :rotfl2:
  19. OP, just do what you want with the US flag. If you have to ask if it's offensive, I think you already know the answer. Some folks will like it; some might want to kick your azz. Even if done with the best intentions as you say, no one knows that. If I see a US flag used for something other than it's intended purpose, I think someone is trying to make a statement. But if you drive a Mini Cooper, it's okay.

    Tire dilemma

Why don't you buy those square Goodyear Wrangler tires from Walmart? I know how you love those things.
  21. Heh-heh. That's what it looked like 40K-50K miles ago. Sure doesn't look like that now. It's mellowed out to old cookie sheet brown now.
  22. Yep, you did.
  23. AAARG - so far from 'Bama. Hope someone grabs this. I'll notify some of your neighbors. BTW, Congrats on your new job.
