  1. you need two.I'm going to try and put one side on tomorrow after work and do my water test before i even take the other side out of the bag.
  2. i already straightened the pinch seam up quite alot.it got better but the weatherstripping from teamcherokee is just not cutting it.my new ones are supposedly on the truck today for delivery and if they are I'm putting them on tomorrow.
  3. I'm hoping theyll be here this week so i can install them saturday and do another water hose test and see how they do.this all depends on fedex's great sevice.in my area ups is very reliable but fedex not so much.
  4. i just ordered a set of crowns from quadratec for the 97 up cherokee.hopefully theyll seal up the doors.every step i take forward seems like i take two back.
  5. what is a good quality door weatherstripping for the comanches?i made the mistake of buying new gaskets from team cherokee and i went from no door leaks to now water pours in both doors.i threw the old weatherstripping away before i realized it leaks.i looked at the steele/rubber brand but to me they look the same as the team cherokee ones.i replaced the weatherstripping because it had a few tear places around the bottoms of the doors but they didnt leak.the replacements don't look no where near as wide as the old ones.i thought they would flatten out but after three months i realize theyre not going too.i have thought about going to my pick n save and find used ones if good new ones arent available.
  6. yeah ive had to replace the booster on a few vehicles over the years for doing this.its definitely the booster.
  7. if you look up a booster for an 86 it shows 5474040 and it says 86-87 but if you look up an 88 it shows 5474071 and says fits 86-90 .i know 86 is like the bastard year for these jeeps.these were the only new ones that it showed.ive replaced every single piece of the brake system on this truck and they were working good and now the booster diaghram ruptured.push the pedal and it goes to the floor and the nice swooshing nice.
  8. in my never ending quest to get the 86 road worthy the last piece of the brake system has failed(booster).rock auto showed 1 new booster that said fits 86-87 but if you look at a slightly newer mj it shows a different number but it says fits 86 thru 90 i think.i don't know if theyre interchangable and i really don't feel like doing the 96 xj booster upgrade at this time.
  9. it was more than just a trimming.i just ordered a black carpet kit from rockauto.hopefully itll fit better than the vinyl mat
  10. i may give acc a try.the vinyl floor mat they sent me is almost universal.it was way too long plus it came with a grommet to go in the floor for vehicles with floor mounted dimmers.I'm pretty sure the mj never came with a floor mounted dimmer.
  11. I'm finally finishing the interior up in my 86 to pass onto my nephew for his first vehicle.i originally purchased a vinyl flooring kit for it from rockauto a while back.the truck had come factory with the vinyl mat as its a low optioned truck.the mat they sent was supposed to be molded but it is just a completely flat mat.ive had it too long to send back and have heard horror stories about acc carpets.I'm leaning towards just putting regular carpet in it if i could find something i know fits.any suggestions on a good vendor?
  12. ordered them now,thanks
  13. thanks, ill be making an order for the brackets this week.i think thats a more common speaker size anyway.
  14. looking for the factory 4x6 speaker brackets that mount behind the seat in the side pillars shipped to va,thanks
  15. exactly.once you purge the air put of a system and you continue to get air pockets its a reason for it.subarus with 4 cyl engine have head gasket problems where they might run several days before just randomly overheating or the temp gauge will start flucuating then stay steady.
  16. unless your impellers are rusted off your old water pump and its not leaking then replacing the water pump probably isnt going to fix it.they don't overheat with stock water pumps so putting a more gpm pump probably isnt going to fix anything unless it just masks the original problem.
  17. looking for 2 doors that have the sport style mirrors and manual regulators for my 86 mj.even if you only have 1 side I'm interested.must be close to va for me to pick up.i don't care if they have the movable vent windows or not.
  18. dumb question but are your bleeder valves pointed up?if the bleeder screw is pointed down you'll never get it to bleed.
  19. found one on ebay, hopefully it works
  20. looking for the single latch (not the dual latch) for an 86 comanche.its the piece that goes on the radiator support, thanks
  21. knock on wood but i havent had any of the spectra brands leak prematurely in the last 20 plus years.they will all eventually go bad because quality is a thing of the past anymore.what might have been a great brand 10 years ago isnt good anymore.i can't tell you how crappy moog parts have got.
  22. i own a repair shop.ive found the spectra brand seems to fit the heater boxs better than most.you would be surprised how many heater cores simply won't fit in the hvac box.napa used to use spectra for there heater cores but they changed brands when covid hit a couple years ago and now whatever brand they use doesnt fit the same.
  23. i would be selling the LJ.
  24. the words quality and cheap usually don't go well together.but on the other hand expensive doesnt mean quality anymore.
  25. i seriously doubt the aftermarket will jump on the 2.8 y pipe bandwagon.i own a 2.8 and thankfully my y pipe is in great shape but for the few 86 mj s that are left it wouldnt be cost effective to produce and sell.i just bought the key parts floor brace kit that was released.look at all the owners that have asked for these pieces to be made but i doubt that most will actually buy them.
