I wanna buy it.... But not for $1,800. Made him another offer..... Hector doesn't care to negotiate apparently.... All I can get is a text reply "No ty".

It's got a bent front unibody. Hood won't close. I've tried to buy this.....Hector won't budge from $1,800....

I can't justify using one of these on the track only to have it mashed by some track debris and then I'm out $450. I'd be a buyer at $250 a copy I suppose, but not $450. Cripes. Maybe if I were building a museum truck...... Would John consider selling the molds???? I hate to suggest kicking the Archer's in the nuts, but maybe someone will get one of these air dams, make their own molds from it and offer re-pops to the rest of us. Perhaps with openings to make brake cooling vents.... I guess I'll have to stick to my '90's Bravada spoiler and late model XJ front bumper hybrid idea. And NO......... Walker does NOT need one of these. Totally wrong....... hope you were kidding Don.

Yeah........... Apparently Rokmen and MHJC werent communicating well..... I got a text 15 min. before I was gonna leave to bring the ramp there. Rokmen went with "plan B" and no longer wanted my ramp. The events coordinator for MHJC said he had no idea what "plan B" was, but also had no idea why they no longer wanted the ramp. :dunno:

Hauled a POS trailer to the scrapper, but couldn't let the tailgate and tail light go.....awesome patina. Gonna be wall art. Gonna mount the tail light to the right lower side with an old bracket. Need to find a janky license plate too.

MHJC asked to borrow my RTI ramp for this event..... so it'll be there. Not sure if I'll make it. Gotta work that night. Might not get up in time.

Correct. Close pattern, notchy feel, confident solid shifts. All OEM shifter slop disappears.

Yeah, not a fan. Jeep is more synonomous with performance than sophistication. The automotive world needs more performance. There's plenty of sophistication out there. Who buys a JK/JKU and has to have heated leather, surround sound and a crumpet warmer???? sheesh.

I made an offer that i felt was in line with a truck with front unibody damage, 2wd and a touch rusty........ Apparently "or best offer, need to sell quickly" means "full asking and not a penny less".

I wouldn't call it easy either. Best with 2 people. Even if you find one with no cracks to the outside, the inner plastic structure can be pretty jacked up. I've pulled a bunch and if it didn't get ruined from banging the brittle outside against something and causing a hole or crack, the understructure cracked as the last few fasteners were being removed due to the unsupported weight. The area behind the glove box and the cubby below the glove box and behind the radio/HVAC controls tend to break. Again, that can probably be avoided with an extra set of hands to help remove the so it's not hanging unsupported or banging into anything being removed.

Yikes. Time to take it easy for a while and do what the Docs tell ya. You'll be back to playing with your jeeps in no time. :thumbsup:

From another thread here, I found a Canadian who's reproducing all kinds of vinyl decals for cars and trucks. Kinda putting the cart before the horse by getting a stripe kit for a truck that isn't close to being ready for paint yet....but for the race MJ, I wanted to do the sportruck hockey stick stripes like these: Asked if they could be modified a bit...... :D He also makes the early Eliminator stripe and emblem kits. Got a kit for the '90 I have future plans for, just in case he quits making them in the near future. He sent extra bits of the kit which is cool, in case I goof something up. The kits come with the "Jeep" letters for the tail gates too. CHEAP considering what ya get and shipped from the great white north.... Eliminator kit was $49, the RaceTruck kit was $79.

I don't think that truck could be built for the asking price of $8K...... dunno what the reserve is, but a quality body and paint job alone is $3-4K. Add in the price of the original truck, suspension, tires, wheels, fab work....... it does add up. A full set of Hanneman fenders shipped is $1,400 or more.... If anyone has ever tried to fit them to the standard this guy has...... you'll understand the hours of work that has been spent just in those efforts. Full axle rebuilds get expensive quick. That's a $12K truck. I'd love to own it.

Went to a Swap Meet today. Unusual truck for sale........ It's a '48-'50 Ford F3....... ARMORED TRUCK. I'm stumped as to what it coulda been used for. It's got a massively heavy bed made of thick diamond plate and solid plate. The rear of the cab has a gun port just like the doors do. There was no title and the owner said he got it off a farm who's owner had passed. No one knew where it came from, where the previous owner got it, or what it was used for. There was no opening tailgate, but it had 2 half doors on the sides behind the cab to enter the bed. The top of the rails have had lots of things dragged across them for a long time..... not sure if it would have had anything else built onto that bed since it has a rear window and rear gun port. Can't imagine what anyone would need to haul out in the open that would require an armored cab and open bed. Especially in the late '40's early '50's. On the rear of the bed lightly covered with white paint, I could make out "DENVER R_ESD"..... couldn't make out what that letter was next to the R. Anyone?
