  1. I've built a home theater PC also. What software do you use on yours?
  2. I know but I need all the turning radius I can get. I have too make to many u-turns uptown when I drive it to work. Plus I like the look of the smaller back spacing. Maybe a GPS then. You know, so you don't miss your turns the first time.
  3. what watch is that on the bottom right hand side? The one on the bottom right in the top is an Invicta skeleton. The one in the lower drawer on the bottom right is a square black Fossil
  4. Besides MJs, or Jeeps in general, what else do you collect? Hobbies, etc. For me, I have a thing for watches. Doesn't have to be expensive. If I find one that blows my skirt up I won't be able to pass it up. The only restriction I have is they have to have a metal bracelet. I don't like leather/rubber/canvas bands.
  5. I understand and appreciate your extensive explanation. But that was with your specific case, not the OP's case. All I'm saying is diagnose the problem and repair it. I understand electric fans are an option. An approach. But as for them not being a band-aid? How are they not? Would installing them fix whatever's causing the overheating? Or would it simply mask the problem until it (if ever) failed to do so? I look at it this way. If my DD car was overheating and I took it to the dealer for repair, would I be happy if they ripped the mechanical fan off and put electric fans on. Absolutely not. Reason being? They failed at step one. Diagnose the problem. If the OP wants to put electric fans on his truck, then by all means he can. Hell its his truck. But he came here asking for advice. Best advice I can think of when your vehicle has a problem.......find and fix the problem.
  6. In his case? Explain please...
  7. My opinion. Slapping a bunch of electric fans on it is just band-aiding the problem. Are you losing pressure? Is your radiator clogging up? Fan shroud in good shape? Electric fan working properly if so equipped? Have you modded the hell out of the drivetrain adding more work for the engine and still have the puny 20+ year old single core radiator? Those are problems to look at before throwing money at "look at me" parts. I live close to you and feel ya on the summertime heat coming up. But seriously, if your truck can't keep itself cool traipsing around on beach sand, then you have a real problem. You really don't need to upgrade to the open cooling but it does eliminate some headache. Personally, if I added a bunch of extra work for the engine, I'd consider open cooling for ease of use, 2 or 3 core quality radiator, and maybe even the heavier duty ZJ fan clutch. Ensure that my system is clean, water pump/thermostat are good, and I have no pinholes or pluggage in the system. If all that is gravy, then it would be on to more serious problems to investigate.

    4g

I know most of you don't care, but I just noticed Verizon has turned on their 4g service in the Tyler/Longview Texas area. Been patiently waiting for this and I'm kind of geeking out about it. Speed test on my phone shows 13M down and 11 up. Its about double what I pull on wifi at home.
  9. Few more parts collected I shortened this console, but not as much as the one on the Eliminator. I was trying to retain enough room in it to fit the RKE reciever without putting it behind one of the doors. Maybe it'll work. :dunno:
  10. No real updates to offer as my son spent spring break at Winter Park instead of working on the Phoenix. (I know, where are his priorities?) Only thing we can offer is some more parts hoarding pics for this thing. V8 ZJ coils WJ coil spring isolators XJ Seats in the right color and in better shape The stupid bracket between the console and the airbag module. (these things always seem to be broken) And a straight driver side fender Also, BIG PROPS to Jay (Comanche County) for finding and grabbing the seats, console, and fender. Also for helping me get the other stuff at his preferred yard. He is a top notch guy and really knows his stuff with MJs and Jeeps in general.
  11. Yeah, but the teasing before hand is what makes the ending worth it. At least that is what ive been told in the past lol. I will finally be making a build thread for the rig once everything settles down and I get it back together RockMJ Can't wait to see it bro
  12. Come on dude!! You can't give us a teaser like that and not throw at least one picture up! :dunno: :fs2: That's like dangling crack in front of a bunch of crackheads!
  13. I finally got to burn the first full tank of gas since putting the Dakota tank in. Range of 257 miles with 1.9 gallons left for a mileage reading of 12.78mpg.
  14. X2
  15. How about if we meet halfway and trade trucks for a few months? I'd be more than happy to pilot yours!
  16. You shouldn't have any issues using a manual transmission.
  17. Have you thought of a diamond plate etc. tool box to mount to the front of the bed on the tongue? Mount the box, drill it for the water tank filler neck, then mount the filler neck inside. You have the filler neck out of the elements, away from prying eyes who would mess with it, out of the comansion keeping it dry inside, and you gain a bit of extra storage space with the rest of the box for straps, etc... Just a suggestion based on my jealousy!!
  18. Would have loved to if I could have sourced the filler neck. I considered myself lucky to get the tank!
  19. Wow.......
  20. Tank is in. May have run into a potential issue. You guys that have the 22 gallon dakota tank please chime in. But when I installed mine, it fell into place a bit crooked and the front of the tank is slightly closer to the centerline of the truck. I have about a half inch of clearance between the drive shaft and the fuel tank. I also threw some 1 inch square tube in to space it down from the bed. I really need to come up with something a little more permanent that that. The square tube is lodged into place, but I'd rather something that'll work a little better be in its place.
  21. Not like I should have to tell you, but make sure there's anti-sieze on the threads of the new one before it goes in.
  22. Ben, are you planning on putting leveling jacks or anything like that on it to level it out and keep it from bouncing around while you sleep in it? Or is that even an issue with the wildernest campers?
