  1. 4 1/2" over stock or over what was on the truck?
  2. Ok, well the main debate I'm having with myself is not whether I can re-pin something. It's, do I want to redo the plugs on the Rx-141 or wait until I can get my Rx-135 restored by Minuit. I've already priced out plugs and pins to adapt the Rx-141 to my harness, but I'm debating whether it's worth it to me or not.
  3. @Minuit I'm gonna pm you.
  4. I'd rather have a functional OE radio than something new.
  5. I have a decent Mac crimper from my time as a heavy equipment tech, and it looks like I can get the pins and plugs for about $15. I am debating whether to spend money on this radio, or the RX-135 I have. I'll take you up on that regardless of what direction I go, just so I have the info if I need it later.
  6. If that's the case I would be fine hacking the radios wiring if I had corresponding connectors to go into my harness. I'll look around and see if they can be bought new.
  7. So I purchased a RX-141 from 88mjsally, assuming since it was from the same era that it would have the 2 AMC plugs. It does not. What's the best way of getting this radio to work in my truck without hacking stuff up.
  8. I would personally do flares. Flareless Jeeps look unfinished to me.
  9. As someone who has had 5 or 6 seizures in my life they are scary as $#!& man. Regardless of the cause they aren't something that will necessarily bring your life to a halt. I personally know a woman with moderate epilepsy that is a full time patrol officer for a nearby city.
  10. Yeah, it seems they only want to give tech support to dealers and installers. And like I said I haven't heard anything back from the vendors. If no one has one I might have to get with a local glass shop and see if they have something.
  11. Talked to CR Lawrence and they wouldn't give me a part number. I called a couple of their vendors and no response from any of the, so I'm still looking.
  12. I'll tell you I just swapped some sagged lift springs out of my truck and installed some V8 ZJ springs, they were shorter but netted an inch more of lift than the lift springs that were in the truck. Just because they are shorter doesn't mean they will ride lower.

Mines just my favorite band. Coheed and Cambria. I've used it on most forums I'm on. I went to use it for Instagram and got mad someone already took it, turns out it was the band haha.
  14. It is a CR Lawrence. Figured I'd see if anyone here had a busted one with a good scraper or something like that first.
  15. I have a good 4 pane slider I want to put in my truck soon. However you can see in the pictures there's a scraper/seal that's missing on it. Any one have one or know where I could get one?
  16. Depends on the town really. Some towns use salt but some don't do anything cause we really don't get a lot of snow. I think they were extremely popular around here back in the day, cause most people I see driving or owning them are in their 50's or older. Whether farm trucks or whatever, people just bought a lot of em around here.
  17. Drove mine exactly 5 miles to the grocery store and back this morning and saw two other Comanches. A blue SWB and white LWB. They're all over the place in this part of NC.
  18. Saw this 6.5 foot Wildernest on Facebook. Figured I'd throw it up here cause everyone is always looking for them. Needs work, but $800 for a Wildernest isn't too bad. If it would fit a LWB I'd be going to get it now... https://www.facebook.com/marketplace/item/207578453858384/
  19. I've always wanted to do a fly and ride to buy a vehicle, never found one I deemed fit enough to do it with. I like that camper top. Looks like it would have a good bit of room with the high roof line.
  20. And early 90s Camaros and Firebirds. Like I said, if you like the truck buy it. If you decide you hate the engine, swap it. I'm really thinking mine will get a diesel once my 2.8 gives up the ghost.
  21. I worked with a guy years ago with a similar story. His grandparents gave him an S10 with a 2.8 for a summers worth of work on their farm. He drove it for about five years back and forth from North Carolina to Michigan through high school and working. Was still running fine when he got a newer truck. Most of the vacuum system can be removed to little to no ill affect. Mine is mostly deleted on my 2.8. Also if you remove the air pump, or just the pulley on it, you can run two water pump/alternator belts for a little extra assurance. 110hp for the 2.8 is at the crank, brand new, and optimistic. If you can't deal with a SLOW truck, and I mean slow, swap or buy a newer Comanche with a 4.0.
  22. It is not an good engine, but some can be reliable. The current Comanche I have has the original 2.8 as far as I can tell, and the unhooked odometer had 330k miles on. It'll take it about 10 minutes to hit 60 but it'll do it. Take the chance. Buy the truck. Drive it till the motor does or does not explode, and swap when you have the time, money, or need.
  23. I get to spend all the time my dogs want me to spend with them. I've played so much fetch with em they're almost over it. Almost...
  24. Mopar brush guard for cheap in Rock Hill, SC. https://www.facebook.com/marketplace/item/202411724385315/
  25. I see one or two a month. They seem pretty common in rural NC.
