Console options for a bench seat?
james750 replied to mknherhappy's topic in MJ Tech: Modification and Repairs
I took a little dinky plastic one, put it in the indent space between shift console and bench, and then moved the bench seat forward to where it wedges it against the shift console and thus holdes it in place. When i got the truck the guy that owned it must have been tall b/c he had it screwed down because he had the bench seat ALL the way back, so that would be another option if the bench needs to be far back. -
Fast idle -- one more thing to check
james750 replied to Eagle's topic in MJ Tech: Modification and Repairs
Yes, plastic will eventually lose its "self Lubricating" properties. If exposed to UV or high heat scenarios (high heat only applies to thermosetting plastic), the plastimers in the plastic will be drawn out of it therefore leaving it brittle, dry and it will crack and break easily. -
Napa has them for $189 when i was last in. FN jeep has them used for 40 a pc. last time i was up there i tore my bedsides to hell and broke my driveaxle u-joint. i think i want to get my sliders built b4 i tackle this one again. for this one you want to have preassembled unitbearing/driveaxle assemblies to install. its an easy one to break those (I learned the hard way, just ask the RockFrogs  )

I got a no drill xj,zj,wj,mj fender lip mount from quadratec. They're made by CFE products. CFE also makes a no drill universal bed rail mount.

i would think that if you blocked the air intake on a normal operating mj with no vac leaks the idle would drop way below average rpm if not cutting out completely. that indicates that air is getting into the system other than the intake via a vacuum leak.
-
That indicates to me that you have a vac leak.

it should pop right off without too much trouble...

Based on you putting 2 cycle oil in it and now its doing it i would say really dirty injectors. I had this same problem about a month ago and it turned out that I had 3 injectors sticking open. its pretty cheap to fix, either replace injectors (recommended) or go to a shop and they can pressure clean them for you.

get a torx bit onto a ratchet and use a cheater bar to get some leverage on there, they will come loose, this method has NEVER failed me.

X2 on North end. Some of the best and yet most unique food ive ever had. You can just walk through an look at the menus and prices in the window and choose which is in the right price range and right food. X2 on Duck Tours as well. Be sure to check out the MIT museum. The whole city is scattered with historical landmarks. don't know if this is in your range, but if you can, take a trip to Concord and visit Walden Pond.

When did George Carlin die? He sure was a funny guy! -
they will swap but you need to put the 97+ striker plate in as well, it is different diameter and has 2 contact points instead of one. I'm not positive, but you may need to mount the striker in a different place as well.

The tranny doesnt have to be "loose" to shift without the clutch, my tranny has less than 2000 miles on it now and all of those 2000 have been shifted w/o the clutch. Rpms just have to be under the max shifting rpms. I can usually glide the gears at a very low rpm but if it is too high it will then grind. :chillin:

yeah, that would be a lot of fun, maybe we can plan a weenend to go run some of the great moderate trails in rampart range.

i have a 31 with a steel rim under there no problem. I have a huge exhaust system on their though so i have to watch to make sure the tire doesnt rest up against the exhaust pipe. ;)
-
So far we have 5 in and 1 potential (sir sam, i pm'd him tonight about it) in, lets plan on a run in early August up to a easy-moderate trail to see what the capabilities of our groups rigs are and possibly get a wheeling group together .
