I consider myself an active member, even if I don't have a lot of posts or post often. I check in almost every day, and I always talk up the club when I meet another MJ owner.

Doh! Boy do I feel stupid. :dunce: Guess I should pay more attention to dates, huh?

As far as the speedo goes, the grease in the cable tube is probably hardened. You can try to remove the whole cable and try to clean and relube it. You can buy the lower part for with cruise control, the other parts can be taken off any xj w/ cruise.

I may be a union member( United Steel Workers), but these guys should be given what we call " last chance". Go through a rehab program before being allowed to return to work( short term disability), then submit to random testing. any hot test or other FU and they are gone. I am also the union safety rep for the railroad at our plant. As such, I do not condone any one using drugs or alcohol while on the clock, or working while under the influence. Not only are they a hazard to themselves, but they jeopardize everyone elses' safety in the process.

To the guys that have gone thru a divorce with kids......
Silver88 replied to chicofuentes0224's topic in The Pub
My friend, I went through it 13 years ago( and counting). Now every situation is different, but in my case, I had to wait a year to file( was in Maryland). She filed first( saved me $ 125). Could have been over in two weeks, but she and her man-hater mouth piece tried to reneg on the separation agreement( taxes and who got what deductions), so had to wait another seven mos for a hearing. Judge ruled in my favor, said since I was voluntarily paying child support, too bad for them. To say is was a bitter divorce is an under statement. Feuded in court a few times over support, Showed she was a liar , and came out on top. As the kids got older , things got a little better. My son is in college and wants little to do with his mother. My daughter is 14, but she's still too afraid to tell her mom what she wants to do. Asked if she wanted to go with us to Fla. for Thanksgiving, she said yes, but the wicked witch said no. Just being vindictive. Met my current wife 4years ago, been married 2 1/2 years now. Had too bust my butt and go through a lot of crap to get where I'm at today. Do I wish I had maybe done somethings differently, yes. Should I have fought for custody?, maybe. Don't know how much this helps ya Chico, but it does get better with time. Could be relatively short, or it may take awhile. Best of luck to you. -
What!? No Carling Black Label or National Bo?

If you can afford it, grab everything you can. Someone will want the parts sooner or later. Decent tailgates are hard to find. Hate to see them get crushed.

Speedometer Doesn't Work

Happen to know what year the guage package came from? -
The Olympic Edition was an exterior trim( ie decals) option. Most, if not all other 88's got a Olympics decal in the corner of the rear window( at least both of mine did).

Nice haul :clapping: EZ Pull near New Ringold Pa is like that. 2 bucks to get in. Large selection of XJ's and usually a few MJ's. Love that place.

Very well said, CW. As a veteran myself, though not combat;I feel everyone should support our troops regardless of how you feel about the current conflicts. Remember, it is the people that WE elect that send them in harms way. When I see someone in uniform, I always take the time to thank them for their service( even the Marines :rotfl2: ). We are forever in their debt. :USAflag:

Poll: Does your MJ have the original rear bumper?
Silver88 replied to beepbeepmyredjeep's topic in The Pub
My current MJ has a factory step bumper,to be replaced with a tube bumper I got from 1999MJ. My original 88, I ordered sans bumper, because IIRC they wanted $300 which was not in the budget. -
Nothing to like on Disney? How can you not like " Phineas and Ferb"? The people that write that show are seriously disturbed.

I had a horn problem last year. Turned out it was the contacts under the horn button on the steering wheel. Cleaned them up, good bye problem. :brows:
