  2. RubberDuck

    Time Capsule

put in something that will last. a twinkie and a bottle of scotch.
  3. the only thing i knew about were the pizza trucks and the ball
  4. Back in 2007 my dad bought a pair of XJs off craigslist, one without an engine, and one that was wrecked. He was going to use them to make a decent one for a hunting vehicle, but he got bored before we had the transmission pulled out. Dad told me that if i wanted to finish the project, i could have it. After adding a 91 to a 89, i thought to myself, "this would be cool if it was a truck." he passed away in late 2008 and I left it at that. I eventually sold it because I was between jobs. For a while I was just riding a bike back and forth to work until I saved up enough to start looking around again. One day I was just cruising craigslist and came across Little Red Truck $1400, interested, it was the about the size i was looking for, Ranger or similar, i didn't even notice it was a jeep until i called the guy and talked to him, we met about an hour later, i test drove it and the deal was done. I was going to offer 1200 for it, but he offered me 11 right off. later, I found out that my uncle used to have one just like it.
  5. 900 miles a year? i do that in summer at work. 22 gallons of beer? i'd prefer a few good bottles of rye..
  6. get a hood to put on that raised platform. if it feels the same and its easier to get on to, she might just give up the jeeps.
  7. And eventually you end up watching a video on how to talk to a Giraffe.
  8. Duct tape can do amazing things.. if i were nearby, i'd suggest a canoe with an outrigger, made from those free postage tubes you can get at the post office, and boxes.. from wherever you get boxes.
  9. he didn't blank out the first pic, its just really, really dirty.
  10. Rinsing disposables in rubbing alcohol when you're done makes them last a lot longer. not with my hair. I tried alcohol, "stropping" on a pair of jeans, using a toothpick to clean between the blades.. I'm happy with the straight razor. It's easier and faster now.
  11. Happened to me today, in the Home Depot parking lot. First someone pointed it out to his son and said "thats a bad little truck, i used to have one of those." -pride. later, I was still waiting for the tow-truck and they went past me, looking for a red jeep. I had to flag him down and explain that a red Jeep doesnt mean always mean a XJ or CJ, and that Jeep actually made a truck.
  12. we put a sheet of plastic in theback of my brother's truck and filled the bed up with water. in hindsight, we should have done it at home, rather than at the car wash.
  13. I shave every other day, been doing it since 9th grade. The only difference is that for the last 2 years I've been using a straight razor. I tried an electric for a while, and gave it up after a month, and the disposable blades would only last me 2-3 shaves, max.
  14. Got the replacement yesterday, and put it in after work today. it looks great and fits perfectly. Thanks Steve, now I need to fix up the rest of the truck.
  15. I put the truck on jackstands just to get some shade.
  16. I pulled a steak out of the fridge and it was medium well before i got to the bbq.
  17. there was only one blade that went bad, so i cleaned it up and it looks as good as new. The issue may be the radio itself, so i'm going to replace it with one that has an mp3 jack
  18. well, i changed the switch it was burnt at one of the terminals, you were right Cruiser. i'm getting constant power now, but still having issues with the radio. It is getting constant power, but not putting anything out through the speakers.
  19. It is not too late. I just shipped 5 replacements out on this past Monday and going to work on more this coming weekend. Yours is next in line to be replaced. Since your on the West Coast, I don't know how long it would take for your visors to get here...5 days. I am going to be unavailable starting Saturday 6/22 - 7/7....long awaited vacation. I would prefer you send the visors when I would be here. Your headliner panel will be completed ready to ship on Monday 6/17 but I can hold it until your visors arrive. It will not take long to recover your visors. The day I receive them, that evening I could recover them and the next day ship them back to you with your headliner. If you can get the visors to me before next Thursday go ahead and send them. If you don't think you can, please wait to ship them to arrive after 7/7. I will hold your headliner panel based upon your advisement. Please let me know what you would like to do. Steve PM sent
