My guess would be some retaining spring has came loose one that holds it down.

My advice would be to try ro flush each system individually forwards and backwards. And if you can get something that you can add pressure to the water and flush it that way

Use youre pointer finger and tumb to make a C shape and pull outward with your palm facing the floor. :dunno: Thats the only thing I have come up with. I'm just tring to get my motor to run. lol I will every tues/thursday off from work because of summer school. So here in the next few weeks I will take it apart and see what the issue is.

Sit in the middle area, push button, pull up with your back (like arch backwards wile pulling) [edit: you can also use your legs to push wile pulling lol] and it will pop off

You will still have that stop leak crap in the heater box inside/under the dash. I would recomend flushing that by its lone some for a wile..and don't use hard water the minterals cause rust to form, use soft water or something along those lines.

You can also use tbird coils to lift the front 4.5.. thats what I have on my XJ and I'm going to use on my MJ

I looked at doing this but it was easier just to swap the custers...just something to think about. Idk how hard it is or what is needed on a 86 though
