  1. For those Tow Hooks, It looks like your missing a few parts... Especially the main Part that runs down the Unibody...
  2. Yup I forgot about the Sender which reqiure Reistance alterations which could be a real pain... I will be doing this same swap in the near future and I plan on using a 92 Dodge dakota Fuel tank as it is similar dimentions as the MJ tank but you can install the XJ Fuel sender/Pump into it...
  3. If You use a Stock 4.0L HO fuel rail with two Lines then the MJ Fuel pump will work fine as the Only thing different is the Fuel rail has NO Pressure regulator and that is becuase the newer system has the regulator on top of the sender instead of the Fuel rail... The newer system has slightly more Pressure then the older system but that will not stop it form working and the easier and the cheaper thing would be to add an adjustable fuel pressure regulator which can be bought from HESCO if not from other aftermarket suppliers and worse case add a larger volume Pump...
  4. I just had a look at an MJ sender on the bench and Yes that hole is a Factory hole and Not a rot spot...
  5. Here in Ontario we go by a Book Value as well although our setup is The higher price of the two between the bill of sale and the book value... We can get around this if We get an Appraisal which will tell the true value of the vehicle and then we will pay tax on that value... Try getting an appraisal done which will state the actual value of the vehicle and then go into your DMV for registration and see if they will accept that as a Current value rather then Just the book...
  6. I would try to figure out why Your Renix Engine is Not performing before going into a engine swap... The Renix 4.0L Engine is said to be 170HP and the 4.0L HO is said to be 190HP... I did the HO swap in my 89 MJ and it was a HUGE seat of your pants difference when compaired to the Renix 4.0L and Both engines had roughly the same KM on them... However I did add a Few extra goodies to my HO swap... By NO means do you need to change out the complete wiring harness, You Can use the HO Engine harness and Just splice it into your Body Harness and If you were to use the complete XJ Harness including the Dash/Gauges then you will have to splice into the Tail light harness or search the Junkyard for a 91-92 MJ rear Tail light harness because it will be different and I know First hand since I had to do Just that which do able but a Pain... And As stated you will require a New sender which your not going to get new so that means you need to find a Junk yard sender or do as I did and buy the New XJ sender and Modify it to become and MJ sender... When Doing a 4.0L engine harness swap there is only a few wires that need to be spliced in allthough it will take you longer to weed out the Wiring that you will not use then splicing in the ones you do use... The wire splicing is not a very hard thing to do unless wiring scares you and if it does I would suggest Just fixing what you have now...
  7. You guys in Canada If you ever need stuff you can not get locally to you, then Drop me a line as there is not much I can not get and I can ship the stuff to you... I have ends and Lines... But Canadian Tire does sell the 3/16ths brake line Nuts so I would try again and ask for a Service tech as Usually they will be in the back where they work and they can and will sell them to you as I have done that before... And the Nuts for the master as very easy to get as well and I stock them too... Worst case senerio Buy some pre made pieces And cut off the Ends and use them on your roll... There is nothing Nice about a dozen pre made pieces Unioned together down the truck... If your Not too far from me Bring me your Lines and I can Flare the ends for you, I have a nice Hydrolic Flare tool... Good luck Alex
  8. Go to mopar they are maybe $8.00 for a New One... Mopar Part #3300-0682
  9. Nice Build and I too am Very interested in Rear Bumper bracket pics too...
  10. Not sure on the other guys doing this But Axle swap will totally depend on the purpose of the Vehicle... I will be running a D44 front and Rear.... But that is the least of my thoughts with this install as the engine/tranny swap is going to take more thought and time then a Axle swap... :D
  11. I plan on doing this exact swap and Will fill you in on the details after I do the install... I have it already Planned out and when The instll is done I will share the build up with The Comanche Club... I will be using a Dodge MPFI 5.2L NON EGR engine with the 46RH Dodge transmssion and Jeep 242 T-case using Jeep Grand cherokee Exhaust Manifolds... Thanks is all I can say for now and Will have pics with the build up when completed...
  12. Yes They make it for the PS2 as well
  13. Yes they Do... I have yet to unlock it but then again I only played the game for two hours...
  14. Someone on another Board Posted this up so I went out and grabbed it last night... Jeep Thrills is the name of the Game... http://www.futureshop.ca/catalog/proddetail.asp?logon=&langid=EN&sku_id=0665000FS10112447&catid=24307 I checked Bestbuy but they do not carry the game in the US or Canada and I am not sure of other US stores that might carry it... I have not unlocked the MJ in the game yet But It is a Fun Game and You ONLY race Jeeps against Other Jeeps... Mrry Christmas Comanche Club
  15. hornbrod This Information is important and Worth the discussion and trying to write what we actual want to say tends to get lost in the fingers unlike a Face to Face conversation... Take care and may the SUN shine on your Chrome...
  16. Very interested to See some Pics...
  17. If you were to actually read my Post you would see this has nothing to do with a Voltage drop when the Load is NO different then Stock which is where you do not understand, If the Load was greatly increased then Yes A Wiring Upgrade is a Good if not Great Idea but this is a Better lighting system with NO load changes to the Factory system... The factory system is 55W Low beam so if by your theory, then No one can even upgrade to silverstars without a Wireing upgrade... Which is Completely Wrong since the load does not change... + If this was a Real concern I think guys like IPF and other manufactures would state a warning on the Lights otherwise they would get lawsuits like crazy from guys MElting down their Car's and Trucks... I care Not to contuine this as Those who have plans for this Upgrade will either add the lights with No wiring upgrades or Rewire their headlight system and add relay's if they are concerned... My Comments were to mearly Make it CLEAR that there is NO LOAD CHANGES therfore does not warrent a Wiring Upgrade, NOT to get a bunch of ladies getting thier panties in a bunch and For that I aplogize for the Panty Bunching :rotfl2: ... Take care and Onto the Next Project...
  18. This is Nothing CANADA VS US so I do not understand that and am insulted... Just a Debate and I am no Electrical Expert either and if there is a Valid reason this is Not Good I want to know so I can Look further into it... But So far I am the only one Actually Putting Numbers to it and I can Go outside and put a DC amp meter or volt meter and Get the Actual Current load on the lights...
  19. The Stock Sealed Beams Are 55W LOW BEAM and 65W HIGHBEAM so mister smarty pants :brows: please tell me Exactly how the AMP draw is More when the POWER DRAW IS the same... + a 18 Gauge wire is rated Much higher then the 9AMPS that is being pulled from it with a stock Headlamp on low beam or the 10AMPS for the High Beam + the Fogs are only a 55W (4.5AMP) Lamp aswell and the relay is there and I can not say why I am not a Jeep Engineer... The H4 system is a BETTER Techonolgy therfore better brighter lights using the same POWER but different technology...
  20. For an MJ You Do not Need to Upgrade the wiring or add any extra Relays... The H4 Convesion is Just a Lense and a Replaceable Lamp and the Factory Headlights are 55W Low beam and 65W High Beam Even if you Run 80W low and 100W Highs as I do in my MJ and My CJ you do not Need a wiring upgrade... 55W = 4.5A each so 9AMPS for the pair 65W = 5.4A each so 10.8AMPS for the pair Which is the EXACT same as Factory and the factory Wiring can Handle 20AMPS for Each the Low and the High... I Run H4's in all My Jeeps and Sell them to many Of my Customers...
  21. I have scrapped many a 4.0L Engine and the engine from valve cover to Oil Pan and NO accessories is only 300LBS give or take a pound and if you add on the accessories I would agree with the MAX 450LBS already stated... My MJ with me and an Empty Box and a full tank or fuel weighs in at around 1700KG's 1700KG's = 3747LBS I only weight 180LBS Not sure what the Full Fuel tank will weigh and probably never will since my trucks always have a full tank of fuel... My Truck gets weighed regularly since I am in the business of parting out Jeeps and Run the NON sellable part to the scrap yards on a regular basis...
  22. If You have a Long Box (7 foot box) with the 18 Gallon Tank then it should be the same, If you have a Short Box then it is different... I Bought a New Pump/Sender that was for a Cherokee and I had to Cut/twist and add tubing to make a New one work in my Short box 18 gallon tank MJ it was a pain to do but Now I have a Brand new Sender/Pump that I will not have to mess with for the Next 20 Years...
  23. The Box is a 6Ft Box and In Great shape with only two spots for repair as they were hidden under the flares... Price well I am not sure yet because I got it to swap onto my 89 but My painter just does not have the time to paint it and get it ready for me to install... I would think that it would not be worth it for you based on the fact that you can just as easily go south and find a similar if not Better condition box for the same money because the more I think as I type I realize that there is NOTHING up here in reasonable shape for even an expensive price... I will think about it a little more and You can PM me an Offer if you would like and I will let you know... Thanks Alex
  24. YJ/MJ/XJ/ZJ axles are all the same width but CJ's are Narrower... CJ Wide track is Wheel mount to wheel mount is 54" and the YJ/MJ/XJ/ZJ axles are 60 Here is a Link to some info.. http://jeep.off-road.com/jeep/article/articleDetail.jsp?id=277046
  25. Even a Wide track CJ Axle will be 4" narrower then the MJ/XJ axles...
