Questions about buying a rebuilt engine.

Interesting topic... I am "part" owner of a 4.7L Stroker that was done about 10,000 miles ago... It's still in MI, but I was kind of wondering what kind of "trouble" i'm going to be in once it gets here... it too has all the "paperwork" for the purchase of new parts to complete the stroker, but I'm hoping that I'm not getting in over my head if I have to "redo" or recheck everything that has already been done. I don't think it's been sitting as long as the one mentioned.... -
Think external Hard Drive... :smart: I learned the hard way one time too, but I bought an external and I do regular back-ups to it about once every two weeks. I have lost one computer since having the external and it was a snap to set up the new one because I lost nothing bu the time it took to set it all up again ;) . I have a PC & a laptop so I partitioned the external so I can back them both up on the same unit. 8) If anyone is in the market I might be able to help with some External Hard Drives at decent "Employee" Prices (Cheaper than I think you'll get them anywhere online)... I think I can only order 20 drives per year for Family and Friends (Which I consider most of you guys now)... PM me if your interested...

If you have the truck, you should be able to check the Tag on the Pumpkin if it hasn't been messed with or rusted off... -
Saw this on Lifehacker.com the other day...Since a lot of us do shipping back and forth with parts and whatnot (some of which are heavy), You can use Shiptool.Com to find the lowest cost carrier for whatever your sending (with all the various speed options). You enter From and To City/State/Zip, the Shipping Weight and Dimensions and it will spit out all the different prices for the different carriers based for all speeds (with cheapest listed first). You can then select the one you want and it takes you to that vendors site. Only includes UPS, DHL, USPS and FedEx, but that should cover a majority of the "normal" stuff. http://shiptool.com/ Thought it was kind of cool and might save someone a couple bucks sending me parts (anyone have NICE Grey MJ Bucket Seats and a Grey Full Console? :D ) Sw2

This was the first time he'd had it out since much of the work and he did say that he had to borrow a bigger trailer and needed to do some fab work and add some steel so it would fit on his...

This is a rig of one of the guys in my local club...I was supposed to go wheeling with him on Sunday, but couldn't make it. I haven't seen the rig in person yet but looks pretty cool...I thought it was a Cut Up TJ until I started looking a little closer and the hood was a giveaway... (Obviously the kids are there just posing and not driving) Base of an 88 Cherokee (the hood, firewall, and most of the floor). Its got a high output 4.0 from a 93 xj, aw4 tranny, 231 t-case, Dana 60 front, and 14 bolt rear. The wheels base has been stretched about five inches...

I think Pics would help greatly in the "appraisal"... I'm not familiar with the West Virginia market and the prices appear to vary by state... Amount of Rust big factor in areas where that's a problem. You can also take a look at Craigslist to get an idea of what others are going for. Could be $500, up to a couple thousand probably... Only 3 Rules Here... Rule #1: Be friendly. Rule #2: Absolutely NO apologizing for asking questions!!! That is what we're here for, answering each other's questions. There's no need to feel bad because you are unsure of something or if you couldn't find what you were looking for using the "search" feature. We all start at the bottom of the knowledge ladder and there's only one way to climb up. I encourage you to ask whatever is on your mind. Rule #3: You do NOT need to own an MJ to be here. I repeat, you do not need to actually own an MJ to sign up, post, or otherwise take part in any activities.

What's the verdict? taste like a corona but 1/2 the price and without cutting up limes!! :D Pretty good ! So are the lime lights the official beer of The Comanche Club??? Oh by the way.... there pretty dang good while eating cheese too!! Somebody call up Anheuser-Busch and see if we can get the "official sponsership". As much business and I think Brent (BLHTAZ) has sent thier way, maybe he is already on the payroll. Hey they send me a free 12'er every couple of weeks, I'll pimp their stuff up and down (like we already do). By the way, I can't see drinking the BL Lime during the dead of winter (with is about 55 Degrees and cloudy here, maybe a spot of rain :D) ... it's an OUTDOORS and Warm Weather drink only in my estimation... Sw2 :D

Only if I want to walk on it without blistering my feet (only on HOT days)... and then, not much more than a light mist... Otherwise, nothing...

Hotter than Hades honestly.... Sprayed it down with the hose for a minute and it cools down nicely, at least for as long as we can stand to be outside with that kind of heat... Sw2

New Exhaust System - Price, Source
SuperWade2 replied to summerinmaine's topic in MJ Tech: Modification and Repairs
Sure they do. http://store.summitracing.com/egnsearch ... 3&D=303153 But unless I'm reading it wrong, that's only for the I4 and the V6, not the 4.0L. :dunno: That's got to be the Summit website guy being to lazy or too ignorant to know (or post on the site) the difference between I6/V6... -
Was in the 105-110F range here today which is about 20 Degrees above normal for us this time of year... down @ the Beach in Santa Cruz, it was over 100, which is PRETTY RARE! Still about 100F here at 5pm. Had the county's 3rd big fire this month...Down about 10-12 miles south of my house about 600 acres burned in just a few hours and took out a number of homes, and there were rumors that people saw some dude tossing flares into the dry trees and brush on the side of the Freeway  ) ...and life does not get much better than this (other than the drink was empty, but that situation was rectified between the time the pic was taken a few minutes ago and me writing this (while sitting in the same spot).

Up to $4500 1/2 way thru the auction... I was going to ask him a question if he had actually viewed every other Comanche in the country to back up the statement of "possibly the nicest Comanche in the US", but I doubt he would have replied...

What are those big bottles of New Belgium? I dig the Fat Tire and other NB brews's that we can get out here in Cali... I'm sure getting it "fresh" there in Colo would be better... Probably hard to ship beer, huh? Wade

If I were spending something arround $30K, I would consider on of the new Pontiac G8's... I drove a Grand Prix from 1997-2003 and really liked it (had to trade in in on the Tahoe for a more "family" wagon)... The new G8 GT has a 6.0L v8, 6Spd Auto... Not sure I'd go this color, but I like the style...
