"comanche" site:craigslist.org gives you all cities... BUT doesn't seem to sort by date all that well (but not sure if there is an option for age)...

DOH... and I even now remember you mentioning this in another thread or PM... I got the shackles bolted up on both sides already and probably won't have time to drop em again to drill the holes right now (I'm lucky I had time to stick em on this evening). That might have to be a project for another day. I also think this will be a temporary setup and not sure how much Offroad it's going to see in the current config (with the "Budget Boost"). It was a cheap and fairly easy setup to get me just a little bit of extra space until I could afford a 3"-3.5" kit and new 31's. Neither of those things are going to happen until I get my engine stuff worked out (stoker swap hopefully). I just need to torque down the bolts (anyone have the Torque #'s off the top of their head so I don't have to go look?), and I'll try to take some pics tomorrow. I don't really have a good before Pic, except for the one when I still had my Pioneer Stripes and I didn't really do a before and after measurement, which I really should have, but oh well. SW2 -
Or a PM maybe? ZERO Motion Offroad posts in this thread...if "ex-customers" of Rusty's want to bash em, I think they have earned the right...I said plainly that I've never purchased from them, but would not based on experiences I've personally seen and read about... SW2

Why he is "testing" of course...what does it look like... Obviously not too successfully... SW2

Chevy Drop Shackles finally showed up...

I'll move a washer to the other side to even it out, it's not all tight yet anyhow... and I only got one side done and the chances of me getting the other side done tonight are not great.... And it's dark, or gonna be, so it might be at least tomorrow until there are any "finished pics" SW2 -

How's this look? I used the upper hole for 2 reasons... 1), it was a pain in the butt to get my springs extended, even a little bit, even using my bottle jack between the leaf and the frame (that I think doesn't extend as far as it should). 2) Even with the this hole location, it lifts the rear just a tad higher than the front (in my assumingly level garage floor). If I used the lower hole, I think the back end would be too high and look disproportionate. -
I think I found my next Comanche - PROGRESS PICS UP

Looks Really nice... good find! Sw2 -

Actually, the bushing is about the same length. I used them awhile back before I replaced my leaf packs and had to open up the upper frame bracket with a length of threaded rod and a couple of nuts/washers to get them in. You'll also need a couple of shim washers between the shackles and the spring bushings as they were a bit wider. They don't look quite as beefy though as the OEM GM shackles I used........... Metal to Metal they look to be the same... Will just be a tight fit with the bushings... -
Bout $50 for shipping a tailgate (came DHL I think) depending on too/from locations...

You get the Shackles installed? How did it go? I'm still waiting to mine to show up in the Mail... SW2 The Shackles went great, really no problems at all, did it just like the description said listed above. Coil springs on the other hand.....did not go well, ended up renting a set of strut compressors, after I could not get the coil spring compressors to work. Nice, I think my Shackles are coming slow boat (from AZ)... it's been a week since they were shipped... hopefully tomorrow...I was hoping to toss em on after work tonight... And by the way! :needpics:

Should I buy this Engine Puller and Stand - $100 Craigslist

So I need to get Bolts to go thru the end of the Arms and into the Block, or just reuse the Tranny Bolts? -
Should I buy this Engine Puller and Stand - $100 Craigslist
SuperWade2 replied to SuperWade2's topic in The Pub
What I don't yet have an engine to put on the stand, or am I ready to pull my old one, I have just a couple more questions. RE the Engine Stand... How does the Engine Mount to the Arms of the Stand? Also, What length of chains should I get for the Hoist. There was a pile there but was rusted horribly and I just left em, so I figured I would just get some new. Thanks -
this i just can't comprehend? explain. The 4.5" Rear Leaf Spring Packs themselves (at least from other vendors) with NO other Lift Parts of any kind are $300-$375... So Rustys was charging $700 for the whole kit with the "Spring Pack", meaning the cost of the Leaf Pack constituted (at least in theory) nearly 50% of the total price of the lift they were asking. http://motionoffroad.com/catalog/index. ... cts_id=108 http://www.hellcreeksuspensions.com/jeep.htm so its good or bad that the leafs are worth 50% of the kit? Just stating a fact... I think all of the kits will be similar... Save your $$$ get a Good Quality Lift from Motion... I'm leaning towards the Rubicon Express kit, but it is more of buying the individual components and probably end up being a little more than the Motion Kit...
