... Literally... I was getting the kids ready for bed, and saw these little boogers hanging out in my back yard... Shot from my upstairs window with my 28-135mm... Any advice for getting rid of them (I live in City Limits, where firing a gun is not legal... I do have a pellet gun, but I'm guessing not powerful enough to take out one of these guys...I don't a "real" gun anyhow)... Animal Control maybe? There was at least 8 or 9 that I counted at one point...Looked to be a Mama/Papa and some smaller baby guys... UGGGG...

Got a "New" White Gate from Boilermaker, (Thanks Man! ) Not perfect, but MUCH better than what I had before, and I think this one is good enough to do my Bed Lining (Rhino or Line-X, or whatever I can have done locally)...Best thing is the gate gave me an instant 20 HP Boost now that I have a 4.0HO engine per the emblem. Here is the "BEFORE" Shots...(It was also full of Gravel and Rocks that must have entered thru the big "gash" on the inside...It weighed almost twice as much as the replacement one)

you were 001... Not that it matters, but in the Screenshot I was the last post in the Classifieds as well @ 100K... It's a good thing they pay me to sit in front of a computer! Kind of AntiClimatic I think... Wade #2

I got the factory 44 without the Tow/Offroad or Metric Ton package according to the spec sheet that I was sent from Chrysler (if it's indeed accurate). I haven't pulled my carpet up yet in this one to see if I can find the build punch sheet thing... SW2

How about a change of pace... "You have the manners of a goat. And you smell like a dung-heap! And you have no knowledge whatsoever of your potential!"

I wonder what happens to all of these Prototypes and stuff... stuck in some Exec's garage somewhere... I think we should make it our collective ComancheClub mission to find out and if the truck still exists to bring it out of "retirement"... Sw2

Was in a league as a kid... Had a few 200 games with 212 being my highest... I was 11 or 12 I think... I'm lucky if I break 140-150 when I go now, but its more for the drinking and I only go once every couple of years...

I said that was not an important part of the "story" or one that I'm terribly proud to talk about...Lets just say the pully part (not the right term I know) that you loosen to take the serp belt off was being stubborn and I decided a Big ole screwdriver would somehow help the stubborness... it didn't and put a hole in my radiator... No main Fan Shroud or Aux Fan (on the driver side, which is odd cause my 89 has one) to "protect" the radiator. sw2

** The Names of the involved parties have been changed for their protection ** A semi-hypothetical situation... of course... Someone might have been working on taking off the Alternator off of a particular 87 MJ because it was basically new to install on another 89 MJ (because the one on the 89 appeared old and crusty). So while getting ready to take off the serpentine belt, it's "possible" that the hero of our story somehow jammed a screwdriver into the radiator, causing Antifreeze to quickly slurp everywhere in the garage. The story isn't really centered on how or why a big ole screwdriver got jammed into the radiator, but more about the replacement radiator. (although the hero would feel awful silly for jamming said screwdriver into the radiator, assuming this story were true). Said person was "given" a nearly new Radiator as part of the purchase of the 87 MJ and was told that it was good and the previous owner didn't have a vehicle to use it in and wanted it out of his garage. So the tech question really falls back to how would the "replacement" radiator be tested to ensure it actually was good before going to the trouble of installing it. For those of you who made it this far in the post, the Serp Belt was eventually removed, and nearly new alternator was removed for swapage into the other MJ (which hasn't yet happened). There may also be a swapage of a nearly new starter and exhaust from the 87 to the 89 as well, but those will be story's for another night. #2

I acutally really like the scoops... wouldn't do them on mine, but I think they look pretty sweet on your rig! Sw2

I feel violated every time I leave the NorCal Pick and Pulls... I would rather buy new stuff and pay for shipping becuase much can be had for less than what the PnP here charges...not to mention the full cavity search they provide on the way our... With that being said, I've come home with a few more screws that I paid for, but really nothing bigger than that.

Anyone in MI want to go pick me up a Stoker and send to Cali

Might be more into the this deal coming soon... 8) -
Well after a couple weeks, I might be passing this project onto one of the guys in my Jeep Club... I was willing to finish it, but decided that I would really rather spend my time and $$$ getting my other 89 MJ where I want it and finish a few more things on my TJ. I hope to get and swap in a Stroker into my '89 and also get it lifted/bigger tiers, etc, so getting the 87 running would have taken a back seat anyhow... Anyhow, he was the guy that had all the XJ stuff and has all the parts to get the thing going... the one stipulation that I made to the guy was that he actually get the thing up and running again and not just part out and scrap the thing. I also asked that if in the future he wanted to sell it, that he give me first option to buy it back at whatever he thinks its worth running and whatever he put into it. So I guess I still feel better having saved this 87 from the "crusher" and hope that the club guy will get it going and use it. I'm not going to make or lose any money on this and not really out much on my time to get it, start work on it. The guy isn't much of a computer guy, so doubt that he will get on here, but if I get updates from him, I will post here... Wade

Anyone run them on their MJ's? I have them on the TJ (33x12.5r15) and really like them quite a bit... they did Pretty OK in the Snow/Sand and Rocks... I haven't and don't do a ton of Mud, but I'd assume they would be very functional there too...They are a little spendy at $150-175/ea but seem to be a good overall M/T for Offroad/Light (low mileage) Daily Driving... I see they have a 31x10.5r15 that I think might look nice on the Gambler Rims on the MJ.

Would the 2" budget boost spacers that I took of my TJ work? Rubicon Express... I assume this would also entail getting longer shocks (since I just replaced all 4 with OE Height Monroe ones..) Can you get the WJ Lowers, or so I just need to scour the Junk Yard (although never seen a WJ in any of the yards near me) I REALLY like the look that BLHTAZ has going with his (3.5" RE from his Sig) and would eventually like to emulate that 'size' of lift/tire setup...

Dry, as in NO ALCOHOL ANYWHERE, ANYTIME? This is the Year 2008, Right, Not the 1920's (and early 30's)... WOW, that just boggles the mind... Where I grew up (Lincoln, Nebraska), you couldn't buy alcohol in the city limits on Sunday, although I'm not sure if that rule still applies, but I can't imagine an whole county where you can buy a beer... sw2 -
You can run 31s on an MJ with no lift, if you stay with stock Jeep rims. The tires WILL rub the lower control arms when the steering wheel is cranked all the way over toward full lock. BUT ... all the lift in the world will NOT correct that problem, because the control arms are still going to be pretty much in the same place. The two obvious solutions are (1) aftermarket rims with less backspacing; or (2) replacing the straight MJ lower control arms with WJ LCAs that have a bend in them to clear the tires. Running wheels with less backspace means that when the suspension "stuffs" the tires will hit the bodywork rather than tucking inside as they do with the stock rims. Therefore, the most elegant solution is the WJ lower control arms. I have EVERY intention of keeping the 15x8 Gambler Rims (5.25" BS if memory serves me correctly) that I am running now with whatever tire I upgrade too, and I do like the looks of a "small" lift...3-4" or whatever looks "nice" with 31's, but also functional when I take it off road...
