  1. $4.49 87 Oct $4.69 89 Oct $4.89 91 Oct Last week I saw $5.49 for Diesel over in San Jose... I think it's $5.15 down the street... My father in law was filling up today... was $4.41 when he pulled in and started filling up... they changed to $4.49 on the sign while he was pumping (and he assumed on the pumps after he was done). I expect $5.00 for Low Grade here before the end of the month... maybe 4th of July weekend... I don't even know what mileage the MJ gets...probably not great since not running well, but the TJ get about 10mpg (all short trips and city) and the Tahoe about 15mpg... Man this is fun... Sw2
  2. Don't quit your day job... I hear comedy is a tough business...
  3. me too, i got a rhino-linings quote of $400. still gotta check out the local line-x dealer I haven't called either place yet... I know that many would recommend Herc and a roller and do it yourself, but I'd rather just pay to have it done nice (as long as they don't mess up my paint... ). I was reading on a couple other forums that Rhino might be better for the inside of a Tub of a TJ/CJ/YJ, etc (A Little softer and maybe better sound deadening) and Line-X Better for a Truck Bed like for our Pickups (harder, more durable for long term)...but that's just what I'm reading... I'm guessing about $400ish for either place, but will have too see.. the Rhino website said something about a $50 Costco membership discount which might be nice! Sw2
  4. Kinda surprised it took 9 posts for that to pop up... #2
  5. I thought Tie-Rods were supposed to be straight...your appears very much un-so... Sw?
  6. I wiped the top layer of dirt off and think that I am VERY fortunate... VERY VERY... Damage is basically nonexistent... The Pass side/Hood got more damage from the scraping of the branches getting out of the Bike trail... Just a small crease along the body line indent behind the side view mirror mount... I little rough under the mirror, and I can see spots on the rockers where it was resting on it... Need to check the fluids all around...was pretty sure I saw some Diff fluid that leaked out, but not sure what else... Pass Side Pin striping... New Hood Decorations...
  7. Hey Brent... any word on if this was ever "resolved" to your satisfaction? I'm now in the "market" for a spray in Liner and there is a LineX and Rhino Lining shop in the area, so I just wanted to see if this guy took care of you or not...
  8. Great points about the cage... I do have a bolt in Rock Hard 4x4 Cage, which I KNOW in a hard roll won't do a lot because it is still bolted onto the stock stuff. I've seen some video from one of the Cage Mfg's that showed a PRETTY HARD roll with just a bolt-it and the cage held up and the driver was more or less OK. Since this is still a Daily Driver (50/50 with the MJ now, maybe a little more in Summer with the top down), I figured a Bolt-On would be good for the occasional wheeling I do and hold up for these types of "flops". If I ever make this my full time trail rig, I'll probably unbolt this cage, and have PolyPerformace or Jeff at Arabia's Overkill here in San Jose fab me up a full new cage (with the harness attachments like you talked about). Was a pucker factor 10 for sure, glad I didn't have the kids with me. Am planning on taking them back there next week, but I think we will keep to the EASY trails for their first 4x4 experience.
  9. What exactly did you ask em? If it's there, if it's on display, what time to they close, what kind of security system do they have, and where do they keep the keys?
  10. Take the "FREE" 4.2, Sell it, use the money to buy a 4.0 = Still Free...
  11. What's Car Domain? Some kind of new fangeled video game contraption?
  12. Hollister Hills OHV Park, Hollister, CA... Inexperienced Wheeler (me) + a Trail that was too Narrow (possibly a mis marked Motorcycle trail on the Upper Ranch, which is supposed to be all 4x4) and I just got too high on the right because I thought I was too close to the tree on the left (which I may have been). Was just me and one other guy, who was in front of me... Too Narrow to have him try to go around, so he circled back around and got behind me... Winched from the Frame behind the Front Passenger Wheel, I winched to a tree a little to the left (with tree saver) at the same time to pull the front end forward, back and forth until we got it tipped back to enough that I could climb back in and pull back a little, enough to get all 4 wheels back forward and more or less straight... Only damage that I can see is a little indent in the driver door about the in the middle, by the bottom of the window (barely noticeable), and the soft top frame got a little tweaked and the plastic frame that it clips into got busted. It looks like the thing pretty much rested on the Rockers and laid softly into the branches up top. Got some new pinstripes from the narrow and branchy trail, but other wise nothing. The Flares were pushed in in one spot, but bounced right back out. As far as the Roller vs Hawse, I think you would get some debate from guys that use their line a load more that I do... There are guys in our club that are sailors and fishermen here who have been using synthetic line on Jeeps LONG before it was popular and have never seen an issue with properly maintained rollers with caution used to the the pull angles and stuff. But Thanks, I like my rollers and they work for me...
  13. Pictures speak for themselves (well more or less)... had an AWESOME day of Wheeling... And drove it home without much damage... Lucky the tree was there and it didn't roll down the hill... would have been a much different story... I least I got my first flop out of the way...
  14. How about mounting options (mostly for a TJ)? I've seen the Rollbar Clamp type setup from one of the other Offroad CO2 guys and some guys doing custom mounts for aftermarket Spare-tire Carriers (to be outside the cab area)... P.S. I have ZERO custom fab abilty... wade
  15. Yep...that's it... :D You do much off-roading in your rig to air/up and down, or are you thinking about Air tools? I've also considered this for my TJ since it's a pain to take 20 minutes to inflates the tires from 6-8 PSI where I normally run up back up to 28-30 for the drive home. I have the little cheapy $50 Costco Compressor that I carry with me, but it's so slow... I don't know how much airtools I would use while out and about, but would be nice to have a Air Ratchet to toss in the truck with one of these things with a few sockets just in case. But once I am able to go out and do more offroading, I'd consider one (there are quite alternatives out there in various price ranges, although I don't really know what differentiates them, maybe Motion might enlighten us) http://www.offroadair.net/ http://www.polyperformance.com/shop/CO2-Kits-p-57.html http://www.powertank.com/
  16. Well I tossed a bunch of Mothballs around the fence and in the holes where they were poking out thier heads... I also sprinkled some stuff call "Critter Ridder" which is basically a black pepper oil powder stuff that said varmints like skunks didn't like... Effectiveness of either TBD.
  17. Rads back in and I'm sellling this truck anyhow
  18. Just got it repainted and I just finished putting all the trim, mirrors, door handles, fender flares, antenna, bumpers, etc. back on. I still have to install the emblems. The pictures above are of the actual truck as it sits right now and the stripes photoshopped in for comparison. OFF FOR SURE! Did you even find someone that had Replacement Stickers, or were you going to paint new ones to match?
  19. You can probably guess my vote... I went through the same decision process and am VERY happy that took mine off... http://www.comancheclub.com/forums/view ... highlight= http://www.comancheclub.com/forums/view ... highlight= I agree... if it were still 1989/90 they might be OK, but I prefer mine without anything (including the lower molding)... Not sure if Blue might look different than my white, but If I got another one like mine that had the the stripe, I wouldn't hesitate for a second to remove em again. Are you repainting, or just removing the stripe? From my threads, it was mentioned a couple times that darker colors will show the fading and shadowing more than what my White does with just a removal (I can still see the lines on mine if I look at the right angle and the sunlight is just right). Wade
  20. I'd say your looking at the ONE they probably made... I could be wrong...
  21. don't be silly the chrome is worth at least 30hp right hornbrod Yah Yah... if I wasn't worried about what the paint looked like under the Chrome and/or would have to drill/cut out a couple of the screws to get that chrome off, I would... I might still for giggles....
  22. Now that is just an image I didn't need... SW2
  23. Should I worry about the neighborhood cats getting into the poison? I think they might live under the next door hottub/deck area
