  2. I had this problem when i got mine. It was one of the wires near the fusible links behind the battery. I think it was one that went to the starter relay or whatever that metal box thing is called.
  3. my favorite is mountainman's , every time I see a post from him it takes me forever to read it because my eyes keep shifting back to his pic. Surprisingly, it's her face I keep looking at.
  4. I'm in the middle of working a 32hr shift because of the storm, most of it was spent on the net tho. My wife just called and said no power or heat at the house.

  6. The rod on the 97 thru 01 XJ is longer than it is on the 96XJ. I bought what I thought were 2 96 boosters (one for me and one for someone else). Turned out one was a 96 and one was 97 thru 01. When I saw the rods were different lengths I checked the numbers and the one with the longer rod was a 97+

    Super Bowl

    Since the Pats are out I'm not that interested. But I want San Fran. Me and 3 buddy's went to the championship game and watched the ravens pummel the pats. It was my 1st time going to a game and altho I had a great time it was very disappointing.

  11. Check your trac bar at the frame bracket and the bracket itself. My trac bar was doing the same thing.
  12. This is what I was thinking. If your sure its stuck in 4wd and that its not just the cad thats stuck, try going in reverse, that will pop it out sometime. My guess is that the cad is just stuck tho. You can just lock the cad and forget about it. http://comancheclub.com/topic/17377-cad-fix-1/
  13. Just a guess Don, but didn't some of the eliminators come from the factory with 4wd? Maybe the 4x4 eliminators had a different code in that place to designate as 4wd from the factory? I also found that an "L" in that spot is for a wrangler laredo or a cherokee laredo.
  14. 97 4x4 automatic -Battery was dead after not driving for 2 days; after it died again i replaced the battery with a new one since it was a few years old. -Truck ran fine until I left it for a few days again. I turned the key and nothing happened, then I couldn't get the key out. -Checked switch on side of shifter(since it also wouldn't come out of park, but that was solved once I jumped it) and it was fine, removed key by pushing manual release button. -Then I jumped the truck and it started but the starter kept trying to engage even after turning it off and removing the key. It stopped after a few seconds. Then restarted and was fine. -I was thinking it was the ignition switch but that shouldn't cause a power draw overnight that is draining my battery should it? -Now I'm leaning towards a starter or remote start wire grounding out somewhere. Anybody have any opinion/idea before I go out in the single digit weather and try to figure this out?

Most have a book for engine, chassis, and body, and a seperate electrical manual. My 89 set also had two more books, one for the ax15 and one for the abs system.
  16. Is the lever stuck or is the light on the dash just staying on?
  17. If you have the RE HD trac bar it should be the double share one that comes with the HD bracket. I have one that I will be installing when i do my lift in the spring. I read before that the bracket tends to come loose a lot and some people actually weld it to the frame. If the bracket is loose that may be causing the popping noise even if the bolt for the trac bar itself is loose. I also have a rattle that I can hear at low speed that gets faster when i gain speed, it can only be heard at lower speeds also. I'm thinking it may be the dust shield, since the pads aren't causing the problem. Does yours get faster as you gain speed?
  18. 87-90 should be the same. Except for the tranny section. My 89 set has a seperate book for the ax15 and the 90 should have ax15 info while the 87-88 should be the peugeot
  19. I have the 89 FSM set. Came with 4 books. I would try to find one on Ebay, I waited and got mine for a great price in near perfect shape.

  22. Have you changed the speedo gear to the correct size for the tires? If not, there is a chart on here somewhere that will tell you the correct # of teeth gear you need for the tire size. I would do that first then recheck the MPG.
  23. You can also get 97+ weather stripping, it's thicker. It made a big difference on my truck.
