  1. Don, didn't he just say that? :dunno:
  2. Sounds to me like you're overthinking it a bit. I've always heard the most negative effects of AAL'S is the ride quality and a short lifespan, and that IF you go AAL to go with a full length one to overcome those common complaints. I've also heard, and seemed to be confirmed by johnnyc, that using an xj main leaf (assuming you couldn't get an MJ main leaf as a first choice) would give 1-2" depending on condition of the spring. Plus, the ride is apparently 100%+ better. It had been mentioned before about just using lift shackles on the rear and I still think that's a reasonable consideration. A pair of Chevy drop shackles cost the same as your MOR AALs and they have two mounting heights providing @1" or 2" of lift. With that, IMO that gives you the flexibility you need on fine tuning your lift height in relation to what the XJ or MJ main leaf gives you w/out having to mess with all the work on the spring packs over and over. *Edit, had to leave while typing this and just came back afte Eagle's last post, sooooooo :agree:
  3. yes, 1 and 0's, hence never I's and O's, too much confusion. PM me your email and I'll send you the link to the report.
  4. VINs never have I's or O's fyi. I have an autocheck account right now, I'll PM you a link shortly. Shows registration was renewed in Albany GA in October 2008.
  5. Well I think you are going to be even happier you have ended up with the 3800 because it has some features the 3700 doesn't have, but one in particular that IMO is badass. I have the 3900, which is the same deck as the 3800, just the next year's model. I looked up the specs on the 3800 and I didn't see anything different, I think the only differences are cosmetic. IF you want some cheap kick @$$ bass, you can do it with just that deck and no need to add an amp. You can actually use either one 2 ohm sub, a pair of 4 ohm subs, or one 4 ohm dual voice coil sub. I got a Bazooka 6.5" tube with dual voice coils, but you could do something in a wedge box or whatever. I liked the 6.5" Bazooka because it is pretty small and doesn't need a lot of power, but I'll tell you what, in that little cab it will blow you away what it can do. Anyhoo, all you have to do is hook up the sub using just the right rear channel (purple wires I think) and it will bridge the rears for 70w at 2 ohms. That's peak watts, the manual didn't say what RMS was, but I guess it's around 40w, but at 2 ohms that's a strong 40w. And even better you can still keep your other 4 speakers, depending what ohm rating they have you just wire them in series or parallel off of the front channels, the deck will handle 4-8 ohms. Hit the high pass filter for those, send all the bass to the sub, and you're jammin. Amazing little deck! I got my Bazooka on ebay for $60 shipped (used), new you can get one for under $100, but there are lots of killer 8" DVC subs (just the speaker, no box) on ebay for $50-75 and a box will only set you back $25. So for $100 or less and no real install or wiring hassle you'll have some impressive thump in your cab. You may already know all of this, if so, sorry to bore you. But, I just thought I'd share if maybe you didn't.
  6. Glad we got that cleared up....................ya dang redneck! :brows:
  7. Taz, I think you've got something mixed up here. The thread is icurunnin's, and he has 77 posts to date. Tuscangardens posted the flame comment, and yes, that was his first post. And yes, it was a flame. And yes, I agree with you that is BS. But the Redneck comment was a response from icurunnin to Tuscan regarding his rap star stereotype, basically saying that if Tuscan thinks icurunnin is a rap star for having his truck look like that then Tuscan must also think almost everybody else here is a redneck for having lifted trucks with off road tires. The exchange was between those two, not icurunnin stating his opinion of the majority of members here, i.e. built for off road. I may be wrong but I don't think so. I don't think icurunnin was saying "well it's ok you think i look like a rap star because i think everybody else here is a redneck". a simple solution would be to ask icurunnin if that is what he meant and/or thinks. I think you misinterpreted his point and who it was directed at, tuscangardens. But to keep this lighthearted, I'll bet you a 6-er of BLL on it.
  8. wow your special! so I put big rims on my truck and I am a rapper? Yea...first post is a flame :shake: . That is not the type of thing that we do around here. Express your opinion, yes, but be nice about it or just stay out of the thread :smart: . You say that like "Redneck" is a bad thing. Being a Redneck is something to be proud of...it's not an insult  . Taz, his response wasn't derogatory, he was making a point about stereotypes in that just because he likes his rig with big street rims and low-pro tires, why is he stereotyped as a rap star? And, that it would be the same if he generalized that all the other trucks on here that are lifted with off road tires etc. makes the owners rednecks. Essentially, he was even defending those, like you and me, that build there trucks that way that they should not be stereotyped either.
  9. Very nice! Any rust issues with it being in the northeast? Looks very clean.
  10. i still say 20s MAX, 18/19s are probably perfect IMO. check out the new guy's rig in Germany on 18s with some meat. if that truck, and yours, was lowered about 2" i think it would look even better. but you GOTTA find those same Foose wheels in the smaller size, they just rip! viewtopic.php?f=7&t=16005&p=161598#p161598
  11. viewtopic.php?f=3&t=15861&p=161517#p161517 here's the one with 24's catching all the slack.
  12. looks like what's in the dash is different than what's on the box. just curious, what actual model # did you end up with? also, what other equipment do you have in there right now, i.e. speakers, sub(s), and/or amps? i have a 3900MP and I'm curious if the one you have has some of the same features as mine. i love my deck, great features, good power etc.. LOL, I also got mine for $50 but on ebay.
  13. Another vote for "I like it". That other thread of the MJ with the 24s on it, this is what a lot of us envisioned. A little less rim, a little more tire, the look of a cool street truck. Wilkkomen!
  14. Since the thread has digressed and to your last points Don, what about trackbars? I have started looking for one and there is one on jeepforum for a wrangler with 3-6" of lift, i.e. an adjustable one. will a wrangler spec'd trackbar fit my rig?
  15. Don, do you think it would make sense to purchase a couple of sets being that they are just taped on now? That's bound to come off at some point, may as well "stock up" while they're available.
  16. My Cub Cadet deck has a quick connect nozzle on it with a high pressure, wide dispersion tip on it underneath so after cutting just hook up the hose with the adapter and crank up the water for a couple of minutes. Does a pretty good job if I do it after every mow.
  17. Lots of styling cues from other SUVs IMO. I don't know about the Eyesuezue Axemeeum, but I see the Chevy Traverse in how the roof line tapers down going back, and even the Audi Q7. I have to say I like it. I bet if they did an SRT8 on that body style it would look killer in black with those steamroller tires on the SRT.
  18. :huh???: well if they said something like, "yeah, a couple YEARS ago my car/truck was in a mag", i might be pretty skeptical too because it would be harder to prove if you thought it was BS. but if someone goes on a forum and says it's in THIS MONTH'S issue, don't you think that would be a few notches below stupid to lie when all somebody had to do was go to the drugstore and thumb through the issue to see it? :shake: :fool:
  19. Well it's not my place to say since it's oldrusty's thready, but IMO I think it's pretty cool that this thread helped you get all of that off your mind a little. Seems to me that with rusty's positive outcome all of the goodwill is ready to be passed on to you. Again, I can't speak for them but I'm sure all of those guys would be happy to offer the same to you. So, good luck with the surgery, that sounds like it will be more of a test of patience during the recovery than anything else.
  20. Tomorrow? Tomorrow?!! As Buford T. said when Junior said he wanted an order of hushpuppies...."we ain't got time for that crap!" Take your damn smoking jacket and silk slippers off and get out there with a flashlight and get us the info. By the way Rick, good to see you've had a chance to get out of the house, I hope the Mrs.' recovery is still coming along well. Anyhoo.....mjeff87 hooked me up with a set of ZJ coils and 1.75" pucks, I'm guessing I got around 3/4-1" max out of the coils. No idea how many miles were on them, but I'm sure they had some sag. I've always heard 1"+ can be expected with a low mileage set. I've been in a quandry lately trying to decide what to do being that I'd really prefer to have @3.5" up front. The decision being, I like having the ZJ coils up front as a logical match to my MT springs on the rear as far as hauling heavy loads, but I picked up a set of RC 3" coils for cheap and could put those in with some .75" coils and probably be right at my desired height assuming a little sag in the RC's. I guess I could get some 2.5-3" pucks and keep the ZJ coils, but I dunno, just something about 90% of my lift coming from pucks that bothers me. I think it's because they don't allow me to grunt enough when I tell someone my specs. :dunno: :shake:
  21. why, did you think he was lying? :hmm:
  22. Hey Jeff, whose little MJ is that in the background?
  23. Wolfpack, I dunno, but that seems like a lot of trouble and expense to have an overnight bag redone. Don't you think you could just buy a new one spec'd out like you want, for cheaper? :brows:
  24. The signature says it, 213,300+
