Kenosha, thanks for the personal insight in to your Dad's @$$! :laughin: I think I'm gonna go hurl, and I'm sure I'll never hold a pair of vice grips the same again!

Those mirrors were available as an option, std (I believe) with the tow pkg, and definitely available aftermarket. -
Patience my boy, patience! I don't remember if you said you are buying this to be a DD or just to have, but if it's just to have, you'll find the right MJ soon enough. Either way, good luck on the XJ if that's what you do.

yup. jeepforum has a similar setup. right now i think the membership is still small enough and active enough that it's still a fairly tightknit "niche" community. But as we grow there's always the chance a shady "opportunist" could sell off some shoddy parts, or worse, non-existent parts.

x2 on the "feedback" sticky under classifieds for buyers/sellers.

Nah, that was a quote from the guy who told Sgt Hulka in Stripes that he joined the Army before he got drafted. Sgt Hulka said "Uh son, there ain't no more draft." Love that line......

There was one?

Yeah, I forgot to mention how helpful it would also be to have a category with a technical description and purpose of the Flux Capacitor. Of course, we wouldn't want to overlook the extremely important variety of doohickeys, thingamajigs, thingamabobs, whatchamacallits, whatdatis's, and whatdatbees'. For the first time MJ owners, we'd want to make sure we also have a link to explain the snipe controller. Just my opinion.......... :brows:

Most countries that drive on the left are in the United Kingdom (Britain, Ireland, etc) or were former British colonies. Belto, you may want to message this guy and look in to shipping. Seems like a nice truck to get you started. Cherokees are cool too, but I'm sure we all would rather see you get a Comanche! http://comancheclub.com/forums/viewtopic.php?t=8049

and categorize them............. "when purchasing an MJ".... "tranny swaps"..... "engine swaps"....... "electrical"..... etc etc etc i've thought since i've been here the tech forum could really benefit from a lot of stickies. but then we'd never get off topic and it might get boring! :laughin: like they say, be careful what you wish for.....

looks cool! you ready to buy that matching spare from me? still got it. :brows: ;)

Unfortunately what I've learned is that "what they sell for" is all over the board, as is the opinions here of what someone would pay. Of course you've got Jeepco up in Wisconsin who buys them anywhere from $4.98 (and gets change back!) to $500 and they're usually pretty good. But he also, like me, would be willing to pay a lot more than most for what he believes is valuable, be it loaded w/factory options or a super clean body...or both. Other guys here wouldn't pay more than a grand for the nicest one around. But that's what makes this site fun, because like most things, if we all agreed it would get boring real quick! So starting with the obligatory "IMHO", rough guess would be $1000-$1500. Mileage is very good, tranny should be easy and fairly inexpensive to replace if you're willing to put an AW4 auto in or AX15 5 speed. Actually, most guys here will probably tell you to be glad the Pukegoat tranny is already dead so you can just get the replacement out of the way! :brows: Anyway, obviously a little harder to say w/out pics, but assuming as a Fla truck no rust, that adds significant value. Other goodies like full gauge pkg, D44 rear w/either tow pkg or Big Ton pkg, etc etc etc. Buckets and air are nice, but a lot of unknowns here otherwise.

forgot to say that 99ncxj has a nice grey cloth one for $100.....probably easy to dye.

what about those neoprene covers from quadratec.com? i think the brand is "wet Okole" (checked my catalog), so you might want to go direct to their website. i asked a guy on jeep forum selling his if he liked them, said he loved them, only reason he was selling is he was getting racing seats or something.

I assume by the fact that neither are 4wd, at least for now, that you're not a heavy off roader. That being said, I personally prefer the long bed. In addition to being more useful on hauling stuff, I just like how they look in 4wd form a little better than SBs. If you plan to start wheeling hard with one after putting in 4wd, of course you get a much better departure angle w/the SB. Regardless, if everyone here voted, there is only two ways to go, so while it may end up 50/50, there would be over 1000 different definitions as to why they feel that way. The only one that matters is yours, and from the looks of them, you can't go wrong with either! :chillin:

yeah, let us know what you think of that guy's headliners from ebay, i know a lot of guys were curious about that in a previous post. -
Chico and CW, I suggest you two stay away from each other, I don't want anybody getting hurt if you start trying out both of your collections! :brows:

i was gonna get one of those money trees too, but the guy told me the only place it would grow was on some swampland he had for sale in Fla. Something about the brackish water or something. Anyway, I asked if I gave him a minimal downpayment of $5 on the tree and an option contract on the land for $100, would he just plant it for me and he could pick off all the bills until I was paid up and then it would be mine. He said this particular species of money tree was a varietal, so it could produce $1's or $100's but there was no way to tell and he didn't want to wait that long for payoff if it only grew $1's, so he wanted all cash up front. I would have jumped on it if I had the $25 G's. Damn. Now he won't return my calls, what's up with that? -
djag, already got my emails............thanks again
