think that the turbine cap would fit? I could take a measurement of mine.
-
possible that one of the pulleys was seized? Maybe the idler was messed up and causing a real bad drag on the motor. Idling rough on 3 yr old gas wouldn't exactly be a surprise to me either.
-
you longbed or short Aaron? I've got a shortbed driveshaft in the garage that belongs to Jeff, I could measure that, or I can measure my LWB d-shaft, but it's an AX-15. Not sure if the trans length is significantly different.

Comanchee 2 wheel drive Brakes

Mines been eliminated, and as stated it drives just like any other pickup. I never understood that weirdo valve in the first place. -
get a locker, the difference is amazing offroad. Enough so that I put up with my Detroit's random weirdness on the road everyday.

thanks CW. I knew I was looking for something an inch or 1.5 inches longer. I'll look into it, I'm also hoping it makes the rear end work a bit more for it's living.

holy $#!&, they want $35 for mine. That sucks, I just need to find one.

ok, so I think I want to run an extended shackle in the rear. I just need about 1/2" more in the back to make it look right, and my shackle bushings are toast anyway. I hear of a 2" drop shackle from a chebby full size. What years chevy? How much total lift?

OBA would work well enough. Wife bought me a 26 gallon vertical devilbiss. 11 CFM@40 psi. I like it. Gotta get hardlines run in the garage, right now I'm just using a 50ft hose to do the body work on the manche and it's a PITA to drag it around.

Help... it won't start, and I can't figure out why!
87manche replied to Boiler74's topic in MJ Tech: Modification and Repairs
try fogging some ether in the intake. If it cathes you've got a fuel problem, if not it's spark. To test for spark rig up a remote starter wire. Pull the green wire that goes to the start, and jumper it to the positive terminal of the battery. Make sure it's not in gear, the motor will turn over. -
I like target better than walmart, simply because the walmart is infested with hillbillys. And it stinks, I mean bad, the wal mart here is funky, and the amish park horse and buggies out front so it smells like $#!&.

classic CPS failure. There's a connector with two wires on the firewall, near the map sensor. That's the CPS connector. Unplug and replug it. It's a very weak signal from the sensor, and the smallest bit of corrosion causes problems.

Another project idea Question On coilovers
87manche replied to JOMJ87's topic in MJ Tech: Modification and Repairs
I'm not sure I would do coil overs, but I would certainly look into a rear 4 link with regular coils. THe hump over the axles should allow enough space to shoehor some coils in there, and putting links on the frame shoudn't be terribly hard. Gas tank would probably be in the way though. -
finally got my LCA's on the MJ...woohoo!!

what kind of setup do you have in the rear, stock packs with SOA? It seems to flex pretty nice back there. -
no, the t-case is "married" to the trans. You need to find a 4WD aw4. Be careful here, as the spline counts chnaged when they went to the HO. From 21 to 23. There are also some different output shaft lengths. It would be best to get the t-case and trans together, as a unit.

it doesn't ride any lower, it just has some ground effects. Had a nifty dash plaque. http://www.cardomain.com/ride/393950

jeff PM'd me, and I think he may be on the hunt, he's closer to me, so shipping is good. So don't worry bout me. -
at that height you should consider drop brackets, or longarms. I'd recommend RE for the drop brackets. and RE adjustable arms.

Will a full size spare fit...

If you ship some to alex, or he's coming to get one I would like one. If anything, he won't need a center cap for his spare, so if you could grab me a center cap I'd really appreciate it. I'll pay for shipping and whatecer the cap costs. If they won't sell the cap seperate, just get the wheel, send me the cap and take it back to the yard :) -

Turn signals and hazard lights-1989 MJ

I'll second Eagles comments, both of my front sockets were like that. Here's an easy way to see if thats it. Pull the sockets Then pull away the foam rubber gasket thing. You'll see a channel that runs from front to back on the socket. Get an emery board and cut it down to fit in there. All I did to fix mine was grind off the corrosion, and fill the whole thing up with ox gard. Been fine for a year now. The factory socket is a little stupid in that the ground is a flat piece of copper that touches a copper pin. There's not a lot of surface area to make that contact, so a little corrosion kills it. -
Cheapest place to buy POR-15

online is killer for shipping though. Find an industrial supply place, they may have it. I've gotten it locally at a muscle car swap meet, vendor had a booth.
