I used an 8" high flow hayden fan on the emtpy side of the rad where the stock electric one was supposed to go. It flows much more air than a stock electric one, switched from the cab.
that's an odd one.
when you stepped on the gas it went from a light squek squek heavy squeak to heavy heavy heavy.
So it sounds like a shaft is moving when you step on the gas. check the alternator bearings.
Alternatively, get yourself a large section of rubber hose and use it like a stethoscope, just be very careful not to get it into the belt/fan while the motor is running.
there are people running 60's f/r that still have an AW4, it really is that good.
they used it in supras, behind turbocharged 6's, it'll take anything a 4.0 can dish out, as long as you don't overheat it.
I feel your pain. I rebuilt my front driveshaft today, and replaced the OTHER u joint in the rear.
I've replaced every u-joint on the MJ in the last 3 months.
I wish I had an auto, does that say it all?
seriously, the AW4 is nearly bulletproof with the stock drivetrain, you'll kill the d35 first.
If you really plan on abusing it then get a HD trans cooler.
The D44 is longer than the D35. It is the same as a Chryco 8.25. Your drive shaft will be just fine.
my mistake.
Thanks for fixing that Eagle. I had a moment.
D44 does have a longer pinion snout, but since you're lifted around 3" I think you'll be fine with your stock driveshaft, it may even be better than with your 8.25
been there, I vote pplastic bottle cracked or the cap not holding it's pressure.
I sympathize with DC, I had the coolant bottle pop it's lower hose off, it doused my starter and killed it.
regarding the AX-15, novak or advance is making an adapter, it's a pricey piece of machined metal, but it exists, and they could help you with the rest of the swap.
Jeff posted up a link/photo of it a week or so ago somewhere around here.
