for all of those that want one we'll see if we can't work something out. I could run down, pick one up and you could pick it up at my place. I'm about 25 minutes from milliron. here's the phone number 419-747-6522 last I knew they had stacks of 8.8's of all flavors, most were 3.73, but they had some 4.10s, about half had LSD.

close to me, good peopel http://www.daveysjeeps.com/

how much lift do you want? SOA with the stock axle net's around 5", and the 8.8 tubes are bigger, so you'll likely get 5.5 or 6 out of an SOA with 8.8 at 6" I'm pretty sure you could fit 35's under the bed.

yeah, once you know about it it's not a big deal, just attach it to the frame and call it good. -
you can do shackles or a AAL at that height. Skyjacker makes a 3" long AAL. rusty's makes 4" packs that would ride better, and you could probably drop it around an inch with an XJ shackle.

FWIW that vacuum hose on my rig is a light purplish.
-
it PROBABLY is the same injector, the only difference I can think of is that the connector might be a little different.

How do you get the lower control arms back ON?
87manche replied to JohnQ's topic in MJ Tech: Modification and Repairs
I find that the easiest way for me is to attach the lowers, since they go easier, then use a pipe wrench on the axle tube. Put the pip wrenhc handle on top of a botle jack so you can hold it steady and make small adjustments. Then rotate the axle back into place and put the uppers on. -
For that price, I could find myself in OH over a weekend.....seriously. Jeff You can stay at my house Jeff. I know that milliron has a whole stack of them down there, if you don't bring in an axle core it will cost you $100, and have everything on it but calipers, they don't sell axles with calipers. my brother picked up two, he used the rotrs and e-brake stuff already on the axle, and just put calipers on it. I think he was about $250 after the perches, flange adapter and calipers.

$300 is crazy. find out what lb/hour the injector is and then match it up with a generic one. Ford injectors are common upgrades for the 4.0, I imagine you can find something similar for the 2.5

it's a skyjacker 3" I bought used. I've since put some extended shackles and some spacers up front to net 4". -
Spring Over rear w/ stock XJ Leafs??
87manche replied to BARILLMS's topic in MJ Tech: Modification and Repairs
I think the best solution for your dilemma is a junkyard bastard pack. Find a SOA vehicle that has 2." wide leafs and an eyeto eye mesurement close to the MJ's. Even if you kept the MJ main leaf and buil a bastard pack with the rest. -
check the fuel pressure, a pump not putting out enough volume or a clogged filter would give those symptoms. If it meets the spec for pressure ad volume at the rail then Iwould look at TPS, or the MAP sensor next. in fact, I'd check the TPS first, just because its easier than dealing with the fuel rail.

if you suspect an ice blockage it's time to get the wif'es hair dryer, unbless you have a heated garage to push it into. Drygas won't do much in the tank if a line is frozen.

spngy pedal that pumps up? that really sounds like air in the lines.

agreed. Back half an XJ right behind the doors, put the Mj cab on it, then use a shortbox bed on a LWB frame. It might even all fit without modifying the frame.

tail lights / brake lights
87manche replied to whatis42's topic in MJ Tech: Modification and Repairs
actually it would be 4 bulbs that would have to do that. I'd check the grounds for the parking lights first, inclusing the front sockets. Then I'd check the hazard flasher, since the brake circuit get's it's power from there, then go farther down the circuit. -

I should add that with a LWB it's really just the back quarters that take a beating. I like my wheelbase, it makes me feel stable, but the back half of the bed is just something that get's dragged. My future plans are cutting the outside of the bed off, and attaching tube to the inner box, thus solving the sheetmetal problem, but I'll keep the bed rails so I can still use my cap, and I'll keep the inside box and tailgate. -
I wheeled with a D35, with 31's and a detroit, it was fine for moderate to hard trails. nothing extreme. I'm still wheeling it with 34's, so we'll see how t holds up. I'm worried about shafts and the ring gear shattering.

3.5" RE Lift on the way ... ?? 2" rear shackles ?
87manche replied to BLHTAZ's topic in MJ Tech: Modification and Repairs
skyjacker makes a full length AAL for the rear, it's a 3" piece. The ride is not horrible, but it definitly stiffened up the rear a bit. My spring packs were in good shape, so I got 3" of lift. Axle wrap has not been a problem, it flexes decently when there's a load in the rear. I usually carry a few hundred pounds in gear when I wheel. I've wheeled with the bed empty, and the front has to flex out before the rear starts working, when wheeling with an empty bed I leave the front swaybar connected to even out the suspension, otherwise the rear really dictates what the body does. -

Here's a pic of a 34 on 3", no trimming. The tire rubbed the flare just sitting straight, couldn't turn it more than 10* Rear wheel well opening was big enough to fit it, but it would have rubbed when stuffed. A 34x9.5 tire on a 15x8 with 3.75 BS fits right under the flare, and tucks nicely inside the fender. It avoids the sheetmetal, after I trimmed I had to remove the small sheetmetal strap that supported the fender, the tire will stuff all the way into the wheelwell until it rubs on the inside sheetmetal, I flattened the pinch seam up front and fiberglassed over it to make it smooth. Here's what it looked like while I was hacking at it. The curves were the biggest PITA. Here's what it looked like ready for the road with 3" of lift. i've since shackled and spacered it to 4", but it worked fine at 3, I just wanted a bit more lift because the LWB breakover angle sucks. -
I like the jpfreek e-zine. For one, it's free. two, it's more about a lifestyle than just jeeps. There's random stuff about rock climbing, and just being an avid outdoorsman.

the non disco mount is fine if you've got a welder. Make sure it's fully welded to the tube, then box it in front and rear and it's plenty strong.

if done properly I like it. Many fellas with backhalved XJ's end up that way because it's so practical to have that storage outside, but it's nice to be able to have some friends in the cab. I wish that Jeep had made an extended cab MJ, I find the confines of the cab just too small, there's no place for anything.
