when i bought my truck it had a 3" coil spacer on the front and AAL in the rear, makes sit real level, and looks good, but it does stiffen it quite a bit.

Wow, ok boys cool your jets  :D :D Yes i was just asking for advise, and i thank you guys for your input. i don't have any low oil pressure that i know of, i just want to keep it that way. aemsee i understand your point of view, and thought about it, but i know how my 4.0 has been treated for the last 18 years, i have all the receipts for every oil change it has had, and any other work that was done since 1991, i also know how it was drove those years and it as been well taken care of, i know exactly whats wrong/right with my motor, so once i have this work done ill know ill be in shape for quite a while, and yes there is always the chance that something else could suddenly go out, but I'm will to take that chance here. i figure since i know everything about this motor why buy one that i know nothing about? A friend of the family as a 87-88 XJ with the 4.0 that was pushing 500,000 miles with just regular maintenance, nothing major had been done to it, till the tree fell on it in a windstorm and smashed it flat. :fs1: anyway I'm crossing my fingers that i might be able to get that many out of mine :chillin: and thanks to the mod that cleaned up my thread

Well the main reason I'm doing all this is the engine has almost 220,xxx miles, the rear main is almost gone and the front is leaking, so I'm going to get that fixed no matter what, the rest of it is kinda cause i have the money now for it, and i plan on using this truck for the next 2 years as my DD, and i want to know for sure that there is nothing wrong with it, I'm really paranoid about oil pressure and scared to death my oil pump will quit 8) and from what ive read from all you great folks is if you got it open, do it,it will saves time and money down the road, and yes the crank will be looked over real good, and if scored will be reground, thanks guys  GATOR88- :fool:

ok ill add that to my list, thanks. anyone else?

that helped thanks, A couple years back, a lady down the road has SWB, 87, 2wd, 2.5L with the AW-4, it wasn't best of condition but was not horrible, and it ran, I asked her twice about selling it she, said no, couple week's later she had it hauled to the crusher! :headpop: :headpop: :headpop: :headpop: I was willing to pay more than what she got for just scrap metal
