  1. That's a pretty good score especially considering putting together a complete system is nearly impossible even with access to a donor XJ with the sentry system equipped. There are about a dozen sensors, which even if they did work are usually pretty brittle. Those sensors usually require special mounting points (threaded holes drilled into the axles or oil pan, special caps on reservoirs, etc.). All attached to two wiring harnesses, one that runs out the firewall alongside the main dash harness and a second that runs down the length of the frame.
  2. Some more wiring diagrams. Same as the others, can't leave the link active for long. Wiring Diagram part 2
  3. Sorry about the quality, its not easy to put the FSM on the scanner and not trash the spine. Relay Wire Diagrams I'm going to leave the link active til the weekend.
  4. There was only one 3 relay block on the IP harness in the 92 FSM, and it's more near the steering column than by the driver's side kick panel. Doesn't mean it couldn't have been moved to the kick panel at some point. (link removed because its no longer active) If appears to be the correct relay block i will get you copies of the relay diagrams. The illumination relay does have a pink and a black/yellow wire going to it, but fwiw i would start with the aftermarket stereo harness.
  5. You're welcome, glad you got it working.
  6. I cut the steering column plug out of a junkyard XJ or MJ dash harness to use as a donor. I didn't take apart the plug, i used a small tool (a jeweler's screwdriver would work) to free a pin from the donor connector. I don't have the plug right in front of me, but usually they have a small plastic tab on the connector or a metal tab on the pin that holds the pin in place. Use the tool to push the tab while simultaneously pulling the wire out the back of the connector.
  7. you're right, it's white tan. Given how late it was when i was writing my response, i should have double checked everything. If that doesn't solve your problem i'll see if i can find the box i stored my '92 harness in and take a picture. i've edited my other post so i don't cause anyone else any problems....
  8. Parker - the dash harness should, if i'm remembering correctly, connect to the rear cab harness somewhere along the floor on the drivers side near the rear of the cab. The PO of your MJ may have already made splices, so what i'm going to do is list the splices i made from an unmolested XJ harness listing the wire colors which may help you track what the PO did and reverse something if necessary. on the Black XJ Dash connector, remove the following pins and put them aside (you can plug them into the Gray XJ connector later so they aren't just hanging out there) pin 7 (gy/or) Brake Pressure Warning SW/ Park Brake Light/(gn) Brake Pressure Warning Switch (double wire) pin 8 (bk/rd) Rear Defogger pin 10 (bk/wt) Rear Washer Feed pin 11 (wt/tn) Stop Lamps (double wire) pin 15 (db/or) Illuminated Entry Signal/Right front door security (double wire) pin 16 (lg/or) Left front door security On the Gray XJ Dash connector, remove the following pins and put them into the Black XJ connector: pin 5 (pk) courtesy lamps into pin 10 pin 6 (br/lb) speaker return left rear into pin 8 pin 7 (br/yl) speaker feed left rear into pin 7 pin 9 (yl) switched ground into pin 9 pin 10 (lg) seat belt switch into pin 15 And to answer your question about the stop lights - you have to add a wire on the XJ dash harness. I'll try to explain this the best i can until i can post a picture of the harness or diagrams out of the FSM. Find the flat connector that plugs into the steering column, it will have 11 pins, 5 on one side and 6 on the other. The last pin on the outside of the 6 pin side should be missing a wire. You will have to add a wire in that pin to your stop lamp switch mounted onto the brake pedal support bracket. There will be a white and tan wire going into the switch, tap the wire you ran from the steering column into that wire.
  9. I went thru stock interiors for the carpet on my MJ and I received an ACC carpet. If you are ever down this way, stop by and take a look at one in person.
  10. Thanks for the info. Been sidetracked by another project and haven't been on the stroker forum for a while. Another reason to start logging on there regularly again. yea well...i was fairly certain there wasn't a second stroked, silver MJ with immaculate paint and chrome everywhere rolling around Alabama...but i didn't want to assume.
  11. Hornbrod, i'm guessing that's your truck modeling the 4.6L badge..the caption in the photo says the milled example is temporarily unavailable (and soon to return). Is it worth waiting for the milled aluminum badge?
  12. True. when it was time to find a new DD, i chose a 15 year old BMW. Except for gas mileage, nothing new beats what you get for the amount spent.
  13. Nice E30.

  16. Thanks hornbrod, i will. They will be well cared for, i can promise that. Don't have any spare parts, but any place i take the window for repairs i'll ask if there is a replacement cable available. I'd be surprised if CRL didn't use as many common parts as they could across their power slider lines to keep costs down. Never too early to source replacement wear items.
  17. Thanks hornbrod, i figured that i'd get the final word at a good shop...just glad i'm not the only one who wouldn't think it was crazy to take it from shop to shop trying to get it fixed. That explains a lot, i thought it was incredibly lucky to come across it since i don't search ebay much for MJ parts. Six out there at once may also explain why nobody else bid on the two he had. I'll ask where he got them and if he'll have others for sale. If he sold the other sliders, they haven't hit his feedback yet. Which then makes we wonder who grabbed the others....
  18. Has anyone taken their rear slider in to a glass pro for repair? Received a new window this afternoon and it was damaged. Damage is a little tough to see on the pictures, but here it is anyway (click thumbnails for larger pictures): one of the middle glass supports is pulled up taking some of the seal with it. The frame in the bottom of both corners is bent. That's probably easy enough to fix; the fixed glass being pulled slightly away from the seal and the frame is my real concern. I know the answer would normally be toss the window and get a new one. But given how hard the power slider is to come by, that's even less of an option than it would normally be.

    SCORE!

Agreed, that box came with my first MJ and thought it went with the truck better than a diamond plate box would. Nice find.
  20. Unless something has changed the last few years, ACC seems to be the only company making replacement carpets for the MJ. Wasn't impressed with the reviews of their MJ carpets, so i looked around for alternatives. Stock Interiors claimed their carpet wasn't from ACC, so i ordered from them, and an ACC carpet arrived. Wasn't really happy when i saw the box on my porch and let them know, but they'd only refund the cost of the carpet, not the shipping in each direction. So i ended up using it, and found those reviews were basically pretty accurate. Carpet is generally thinner than stock, the heel pad is smaller and the fit around the trans tunnel wasn't great. With the seats back in it doesn't look too bad, but someone who knows Jeeps will know the carpet is not stock. I haven't used my MJ much since, but if i did i'd get floormats because i don't think the carpet will hold up well. edit: the acc carpet is molded to fit the frame covers that in your pictures looks like you've removed...so the carpet would probably be really baggy under your seats.
  21. We put the same generator in last summer not long after we moved into our house. We were on the fence about getting one, but after talking to the neighbors and finding out that some were without power for almost a month after hurricane Ike, we decided it was worth the expense. Even tho we haven't needed it yet, we have no regrets.
  22. If your MJ is 2wd you may have to remove the stock center caps to slide the wheels completely on the front axle.
  23. My 91 had the digital clock but neither the original wiring harness on my 92 MJ nor its replacement harness from an 92 XJ had the connector for one. Jeep dropped the digital clock in '92 and the time was displayed on the radio. Jeep being Jeep, i wouldn't be surprised if some XJs and MJs left the factory in 92 with a digital clock tho.
  24. Try mouser electronics. they carry so much stuff it's almost impossible to find anything quickly, but chances are they carry a lot of what you are looking for.
