Leaking Radiator; Stray current in coolant
jtdesigns replied to ComancheBSJ90's topic in MJ Tech: Modification and Repairs
Another reason to use pre-mixed coolant :D I mix my own coolant,, I can get a gallon of distilled water from wallyworld for .67 bucks!! The mix was somewhere around 7 bucks,, the non mix was 10, so the better deal is me mixing it + it lets me play chemist.. -
Lack of Power and miss firing?
jtdesigns replied to Bansheemanche's topic in MJ Tech: Modification and Repairs
On my problem, I tested fuel pressure which was low, and didnt hold pressure. I then did a pump flow test and the result was well above specs. I bought new injectors (havent installed yet, but willl this weekend per 72* sunny skies) because I had fuel built up in the injectors connectors. Hopefully the injectors will bump my pressure up and it'll hold pressure. O-rings were good no leaks to other then the connectors filled with fuel. When I pulled the fuel rail and put some air into the regulator and it sealed pretty good, so I'm pretty sure thats not the problem.. Tested the pump resistor and it didnt change pressure. The temp of the engine doesnt matter it does the same thing when just started or been idling till warm.. TPS is in specs. I still have to test that Cam sensor.. I've seen quite a few of these problems pop up here lately.. Hey Bansheemanche, here's a list of great links to help troubleshoot with; >>Fuel Pressure Tips<< >>Renix Sensor Breakdowns<< >>Link to other tips<< >>Specs on most sensors<< I hope you , or I find the problem... -

Leaking Radiator; Stray current in coolant
jtdesigns replied to ComancheBSJ90's topic in MJ Tech: Modification and Repairs
I guess you could remove your batt cables and see if it drops any... I never heard of someone checking voltage in the coolant system before... It makes sense, but sounds kinda anal for the rad shop to use that as the reason it leaks.. -
not sure where to post this

Isnt the hood prop a indication of the year too?? There was two styles, one on the passenger fender and one long one on the rad support.. -

Thanks for the email Don.. Now, is that the way everything works from the factory?? Your specs says I should have 12 volts going to "B" on the switch.. -

Yes my brother.. keep the faith.. and don't go doing something crazy to release the stress.. well in your MJ that is.. get a punching bag.... that'll help relieve bunches of stress... I think I'm going to get one come to think about it.. Hoping for the best and doing as much as you can for her is pretty much all you can do.. Just her knowing your there, and reassuring her she can pull through is probably what she needs more then anything.. The mind has a whole lot to do with healing..

No mail yet... but it is my sn then add the number 1 @ yahoooo dot com Would there not be 12 volt + going for the indicator light?? I didnt have any power at the switch connector.. Lights on, high, and low. I put a 91 XJ w/ fogs harness in the 96's header panel.. The connector was the same. Well it fit, and all my lights (head, blinker, ect..) work, but not the fogs. Relay is good. I need to dig in deeper... I was thinking there was a lead that clipped into the fuse box some'a'wheres.. Shoot me that wire diagram and I'll see what goes where on my XJ. -
How long have you had the Moogs?? And how do you pronounce "Moog"? Is it Moo-g like a moo cow and add a gah Or Mow-g like mow the grass and then ugh Or Mah-g Like I'm telling mah and add gah ???? ? It really bothers me not knowing.. :hmm:
