  1. I think the older front looks tougher.. The newer front looks sleeker.. So,, I guess its really what look your after.. I just don't like the corner lights on the newer style. I guess thats whats really keeping me from swapping over. My truck is a hauler right now, but in time I want a fast street truck.
  2. You should always change the oil warm.. It helps to get any particles that might have collected at the bottom of the pan.. And it also lets the oil gunk flow out easier...
  3. Anything is possible.. I don't think it would be to hard.. A few wires, might have to extend some vac lines, and theres only one cable to reroute. The hardest part I think would be rerouting the cable.. And,, maybe the new mount.
  4. No way in ........ d@m'd fools... Crane Climbing Dumb..... Yelp.. :dunce:
  5. The Stealth hood... Ok.. You have a write-up or BAN!!!!! Thats fregin sweet......
  6. Thanks for y'alls replies.. I keep running into a Canon PowerShot A590 IS Digital Camera. Most sites have it for around $110 with a 2g card. I think that's a good cam.. :dunno: http://www.tigerdirect.com/applications/SearchTools/item-details.asp?EdpNo=3587213&Sku=C930-1384 http://www.buydig.com/shop/product.aspx?sku=CNPSA590

    Digi Cameras

Aight.. All you tech buffs... Going to get a digital cam for my girl for V-day (of course I'll use it sometimes too).. Anyone know a good site that has good deals and quality????? Cannon, Nikon, or Kodak, Samsung, or what ?? I got $150 to spend to get it to my door... Memory included. Someone HELP!!!!!!!! I's only got's 5 days........
  9. That'd be a hell'a sweet RC car engine..
  10. Had baby sitting duty today so I didnt get anything done, but reading Dr. Seuss and coloring... Theres a curve in the glass best I can remember.. Its a slight curve, so the glass isnt flat so to say.. I'll try to get you some specs and pics tomorrow.. I have no clue in how to measure the curve except for a straight edge on the inside and how much space is presented from that to the glass. The truck is pretty bare on the inside so I think the mount locations will be easy to get too..
  11. The mj has a different brake proportional valve in the engine compartment, and a load sensing valve on the frame above the axle. The mj has its gas tank in front of the axle, xj behind axle. The mj has a diffrent frame in the rear and the tail lights are different. The fuel pumps are different. The rear ends mount differently. The mj has a foot operated e-brake, so the e-brake cables are different... I believe the the grills are different (maybe not??)
  12. To be honest those Jeeps, well the one with locking hubs, looked earlier then 87.. I was thinking 84 (they made a XJ in 84?) or 85.
  13. Tim, I have a ext cab s-10 if you want me to get you some pics and measurements that'd be fine. Let me know..
  14. Ill get the vin and pictures this thrus..
  15. Dang SWII you know in a month that thread would include every know part of a Jeep don't you??? And I'm using Jeep real loosely... "Yeah pick up a 86 blah off a XJ,, " don't forget the TJ's from years blah, blah..." 1999 ZJ's blah, blah....." Thing I mostly run into is when pulling your own parts is running out of time... I feel like its a crazy dash, like one of those supermarket games where you have like two mins to fill a cart with whatever you can........... Know what mean..... ummmm one more thing... The tech question is still up for answers.. Maybe this thread should be in the pub.. :dunno:
  16. I ran into a older XJ today with auto and 4wd. This Jeep had warn hubs and command trac emblem on the lift gate.. Is command trac the NP 242? And it being a 4cyl and auto make it have 4.10's in it right? There were actully 2 4cyl autos there.. They looked kinda old like early models.. Would those be good swaps?? I didnt even check to see what rear ends they had but Ill be going back down there this thursday.. Any special things to look for???
  17. No alcohol. Just 87. I might call the gas station tomorrow and see if anyone else was having problems.. It's never ran like that before.. I havent had time to check the TPS or fuel pressure, will do tomorrow. Is a loss of power/missing/skipping/chugging with good idle and running good after 3000 rpm's a sign of weak CPS??
  18. The exact same thing happened to my truck to today... Since my truck is a 4.0 I'm thinking it might be a flipping fuel pump, or TPS.. Strange thing is, is that it started happening after I filled her up... Anyone have any good suggestions???
  19. Thaks for your replies!!! We fix'd er right up.. The cuprit was a bad ingnition module..
  20. Hey Brent.. I think you should put Roman numerals instead of regular numbers on the face.. I've always thought they look better that way.. I still look for old pocket watches with Roman numerals.. Just an idea.
  21. I know two kids that family use to own the AMC dealership way back in the day here in NC. The Grandfather owed the dealership and his son named the oldest Adam Marshal Cline and the youngest was Adrien Mark Cline. (AMC)
  22. OK Thanks Charles. I didnt know ODBII had a top speed record..
  23. I'm leaning towards the blue MJ's style with the window, but I still could make longer with a larger window fo even less of a blind spot. Having the 8.5" longer doors will already help the blind spot too. I can add about 16" total using both cab backs. I'll have to go to the scrap yard and measure some windows with the frames. It will have a rollcage. Agreed.. Lose the vent and slap a window in there.. The longer doors will only put the blind spot further back if left the stock size.
  24. OK.. This is the deal.. My best bud got a DD for free.. Its a 1991 Chevy Lumina with a 3.1L V6.. No CEL but is storing a code 13 when pulled.. O2 sensor. Now................. This car runs like a top up until it warms up.. You can actully hear it switch over to running real rough. (shakes, power loss, sputtering kinda, like a spark plug wire arcing) Would you say the O2 sensor has everything to do with this?? So far we have installed a fuel pump (40psi), new fuel filter, new wires, plugs, air filter, cleaned the egr and ports, and did a seafoam treatment through the intake. O2 sensor is going on either tomorrow, or Sat. I hope this would be our next step seeming how there is a DTC for it. Why isnt the CEL staying on if the O2 is bad?? Cleared the code (removed batt power, sat overnight, reconnected) let it idle and still got code, but as stated no CEL. I was hoping to check the injectors, only if I could without pulling the intake plenum :wall: :waving: I'm hoping there is someone here, in the vast knowledge of knowers, that can direct us to keep from throwing parts at this thing till the problem is solved. :waving:
  25. I wouldnt leave such a large b-pillar.. I've noticed, way more than once, a huge blind-spot because of the b-pillar vent and size.. I know its part of our trucks look,, but I wish it was way smaller.. I've even thought about a rear window that wraps around to the side up to the vent. I suppose you could add a interior roll bar to compensate for the loss of structural integrity.. I just hate that flipping blind spot..
