  1. Yeah I have an auxiliary fan, but jezz if its that much trouble then I think I'll just not put it on..
  2. Whats the system pressures of the closed system?? I ASSuMEd the open system would be better/easier for removing trapped air. I'm just brainstorming here, but wouldn't you be able to fill the closed bottle with the truck running to rid it of air?? I bet million of overheating problems in the closed systems are from air.. And another thing about using a fan is it cuts alot of drag off the engine. Hey Hornbord do you notice a change in throttle response?
  3. :???: man you confused the he!! out of me with that post...
  4. thats messed up.. :headpop: +10^6 who is the culprit
  5. It doesn't look bad either way.. I just always like the darker colors to be on the bottom, thats just me though.. I say paint it to match! That'd be pretty cool having all those trucks with the same paint theme.
  6. thats a hard to find item... read- IN MUCH DEMAND!!.. You should strip it all and swap or sell ..
  7. nice job! Is the wire loom still going across the condenser/rad though?
  8. Now there's a name I haven't heard mentioned since the early NAXJA days..... ;) yes, yes, pics and info please........ Jeff Like many of us, as NAXJA grew in size and the number of childish idiots proliferated, he quietly departed by the side exit and holed up in his garage, building an MJ he pulled out of a wrecking yard into an awesome pro drag truck. Seems back in their younger days Bob and his brother were the guys to beat in New England drag racing. He's baaaaaaack! OK if this guy is so great, then why isn't he a part of this forum???
  9. rollin.......
  10. It's nowhere near done. When iy is done you MJ will be a toothpick and his will be a redwood. :D Here is a quote. "Just another side project. My friend has been slowly working on an MJ for the past couple of years. He cut the bedsides off and I was tired of looking at the ugly slug. So while he went on christmas vacation I cut the back end of his jeep off! hahahahaha" I need friends like this. No $#!+!!! LOL more like a splinter,, I take that earlier post back BTW,, I made it before I saw his other threads.. If I had friends like that I think I'd invest in more logging chains and master locks!! I think I'd fill my pants if I came home and my truck was chopped in half!! but then again none of my friends have twisted visions like his,, I on the other hand would do something like that to my friends ride,,IF I had the means he does.. :brows:
  11. The thing about the eraser is you need a low rpm tool.. which you can make any die grinder that with a air regulator, it just won't have alot of torque.. It would work pretty good with an 18V drill though. Hey tj does that eraser have a shaft bonded to it,or does it kinda screw into the eraser pad like a tootsie roll, or polishing pad?
  12. It isn't done yet and you can see the skill he has. It will be built safe with driveshaft loops and a trans blanket. to potect him. Heat can always be dealt with. Read his threads and you will be amazed.. Yeah no doubt .. That guy gots mad skizz... I wish I had a tube roller...
  13. jesus christ ...thats bad @$$!!! ^^
  14. to me that looks like it will snap right into, I hope that guy adds more to it.. Good fab though... I like the punched out gussets,,
  15. I think the stripes and lettering looks to 80's,, I'm removing mine from the eliminator,, but I think I might get just an eliminator decals for the bed like 89eliminator has. Your stripes aren't too bad looking.. though, being black/gray on white... Do what you think looks good. Mineral sprints will remove glue without eating paint too = less cash
  16. +3 I'm with these guys... Looks like a place I'd like to see!
  17. Hey Pete while your in FL don't be getting candy from the Dollar General!!!!! http://www.kalb.com/index.php/news/article/razor-in-candy/3564/
  18. Will that bushing still allow me to use the old bolt?
  19. $#!+ I don't have the whole pedal unit, but I do have a CNC mills and lathes at my disposal, so I'm just make the damned rod... :headpop: I think I could cut the the two rods and bore me out a collar to fit over it, then weld it, or better yet just a few good tack welds to hold it together...
  20. Really? I mean theres a difference of about an inch.. Did you grind the end of the rod down and drill it out? I think I'll grind the end of the newer rod down so the switch will work like original, then just ream the hole out to fit the bushing. Another thing I noticed (it might have been covered in the MADXJ link) is that the big brake line (1/2") is swapped on the newer MC. I'm going to read that link again..
  21. Hey man when I pulled the MC off the double booster I was peeping into the booster and it looked like the rod that pushes the MC is adjustable. Might be able to get some needle nose pliers in there and hold it while you screw the end out giving you more push from the pedal..
  22. OK, so I went out and pulled the brake booster on the 89. Hornbrod I read the madxj site, but I didn't see anything about what I'm going to run into.. The mj's booster rod is about a inch or two to short. They wrote the guy swapped the rods,, do you know how? It seems there's a spring down in there, but I think I could just cut and weld the rod to meet my needs... IDK,,, Anyways here's the pic's I just took of the problem I think I'm going to run into. The 89's booster is on the top side............ Image Not Found Image Not Found Image Not Found Image Not Found Image Not Found
  23. Hey guys here is my boosters rod.. It looks alot like the mj's but the hole is smaller. I have no idea how long the mj rod is. Would I still have to swap rods with this one???? What year you think this booster is?? It has the xj's prop valve still on it too.. Image Not Found Image Not Found Image Not Found
  24. I have a set of 4:10's out of a D35, but those won't fit will they...
