  1. Not in Ohio but just across the river near Parkersburg WV...... we should get the Tri-state group together sometime....maybe do a stocker friendly trail ride.
  2. what the heck are those Willy? They almost look like Trepadors.... but not exactly....
  3. Each and every one of us owe a shout out to you and your group. Often wheelers don't take the time to clear trails so that future generations can enjoy nature as it should be viewed..... through the windshield of a Jeep Comanche.... :)
  4. I almost painted my truck Desert Tan.... but after the first few trips I'd banged it up bad enough that a paintjob no longer seemed important..... might be something to consider though.... the light color will hide alot of the imperfections.
  5. The good about 91 is it was the crossover year and almost everything plugs in.... the bad is alot of the sensors were specific to 91-92 and harder to find in the boneyard..... trucks lookin' awesome...
  6. When I swapped mine over to a 91 harness I'm pretty sure I just plugged it in at the firewall and even the windshield wiper motor plugs were the same..... never did figure out the oil sending unit for a guage though.... just put in a mechanical one and called it good.
  7. Ok... yea.... right after where you have to wiggle in between the trees.
  8. When we were there in April there was a group of buggies in there attempting Your Turn..... They just couldn't make it over that log with the rock on the left side.... There was a 100k buggy that was on his side twice and must have beat on it for over a half hour...... good times. I really like Mason Jar....and if I'm not mistaken that looks like the ledge at top of the first climb.
  9. Holy crap dude... that MJ of yours is awesome.... how have I been hanging around here for over a year and not seen this post. Sweet pic of you with your head out the passengers door.... I've had mine on 2 wheels more times than I can count but so far I've landed back on all fours.... I hope to have the presense of mind to have someone take a pic of me when mine finally finds its way on its side or top..... I hope to make Harlan with you guys next year..... love the photo's.
  10. Glad to meet a fellow Mountaineer..... :D we wheel alot on the Hatfield and McCoy trail system just south of Charleston..... they just opened up one park and we're lobbying to have them open up some of the others to full size vehicles. For those who have the time type "Ivy Branch" or "Hatfield and McCoy Trail System" into youtube and spend a few minutes checking out what southern WV has to offer our community. Everything from Stocker Friendly to Full on Rock Buggy.
  11. Headed over to the guy who built my cage to weld up my new set of beadlocks…. Worse thing about going up in tire size is you have to change absolutely everything…. A few pics of the process.
  12. Not yet but I'll be welding in stiffeners forward of the cab before installing the axle. Took a trip over to the guy doing my welding to see what the brown truck brought…..
  13. Well deserved....
  14. Nice work on the axle..... but you might give some more thought to cutting it to keep it closer to the ground.... I know how hard that is but with the rack on top and spare tire even the slightest off camber situation is gonna feel real bad at 8 inches..... not to mention drivablility at highway speed. Kudo's for needing to wheel so bad that you went even limited to 2wd, my MJ is down right now getting a new front axle as well and it's killing me..... also DansGreymj, after months of reading post after post those are the exact angles I'm putting on my HP F250 Dana 44 right now..... always nice to see someone else come to the same conclusion as you did......
  15. So I went ahead and cut 2 inches off the short side of the cast spring perch and cleaned up all the sharp edges. I just chucked up a new cutoff wheel and sectioned it into 3 pieces….. this should allow plenty of room for the coil bucket.
  16. So I spent a couple hours this evening cutting down the tubes and mocking up the c’s on the shortened tubes. After some quick measurements I’m now positive I’ll have to remove some of the cast spring perch on the short side to make room for the coil bucket.….
  17. My Brother is the fabricator in the family and he did the rear bumper.... what I know is I bobbed the bed 6 inches then took it to him and he built the bumper and slid back into the frame rails and tied it in...... as for the bed sliders I just had a buddy bend up some 3/16 plate and I bolted them down through the top. Simple and easy..... I can get you some more info if you'd like. I noticed you had US Army listed and from you Avatar that looks like maybe a Hobby Shop onbase. I recently retired from the Navy but always enjoyed going to the Hobby Shop and working on whatever project I had at the time. Thanks for serving.
  18. Got around to doing a little work to the Dana 44 today…. Man it was hot…. But I managed to remove all the brackets as well as the Inner C’s. Then I measured 12 times and made my cut marks for the Waggy axles. Now it’s just off for the truss and some mounts and I’ll be ready to get it geared and under the MJ.
  19. Unlike your JK your MJ has a long rear shaft and a short front one. The front has the double cardian and I've wheeled Harlan KY at 6.5 inches and never had a problem (Check out my build thread I've got lots of pics and video's of me "Enjoying my Jeep") so my opinion is leave it as is.... spend your money somewhere else. The rear if anything is too long.... I got hung on a ledge once and ground it in half because it hung down so far.... some might say put in a SYE but I've been real hard on mine and never had a problem. That JK looks nice but I've yet to find one that could follow my MJ... good luck and have fun with it.
  20. If your wheeling with SW86 then you better get that MJ up and running..... That JK is way to clean to try and follow him.....
  21. Nice Comanche, I like the color alot.... considered it when I was gonna paint my junk..... but if I were you I'd sell that JK and use the money and build the MJ......
  22. Bravo.... don't touch a thing.... it's perfect just the way it is. Get your camera out and show us the rest of it.
  23. Nice looking Chief..... wish mine was still that straight..... keep up the good work.
  24. Finally got around to comparing my new to me 38.5 SX’s against my old 36’s…. with both on Beadlocks and aired to 12psi the 38.5’s are about 2 1/4th inches taller. I’ll be raising my MJ up 2 inches to accommodate the new tires so that along with tires should raise my skids and rock rails about 3 inches. Here’s a few pics of my new axle…. Hope to get it back in the next few weeks. These are the waggy axles I’m going to run until I can afford a set of RCV’s I’m not sure I’m loving the Trucker Ladies but they were a package deal with the Tires so I’ll run them until I can get some new rings cut. With all these swampers laying around you’d think my MJ wouldn’t be floating on Jackstands…..
  25. Sorry none yet I'm waiting on my machinist buddy to finish up my truss... he's also cutting down the axle and welding everything up. Traded him my old 36 SX's and beadlocks for all the brackets and labor. Can't wait to get it under ole Chief.
