WE use propane powered fork trucks at work, and I know what you mean by you have to let them warm up.... I need to do lots more research so I can junk yard find the parts I need to save a few bucks -
The main reason why I bought the drill press was cause it had a 3/4 chuck and the MT 3 spindle taper. It gives me access to better quality bits that last longer. As it stands now I have to buy reduced shank bits for anything I drill over 1/2 inch, and they cost more then bits that are not reduced. I was going to buy this drill press until they told me how much the shipping was going to be http://www.harborfreight.com/cpi/ctaf/D ... mber=39955 it had a few more features, but I couldnt justify the price difference and the added shipping. If you want to play fabricator... you have to pay for the tools.

If you have a winch with tow points there is no need to have a reciever as well. -

Tow Hook Bracket Alternative

Its a nice simple design, but I agree with what everyone is saying. Maybe if we seen a side mounting as well. I like the fact that it uses exsisting holes. I would also upgrade the bolts to at least grade8 or the metric equiv -
I was looking at 1/2.... that way I could recess my mounting holes deep enough and still have plenty of thickness to hold it. I planned on using fender washers with bolts.

Maybe it is just me.. the way the made it sound was like they were the inovators of the unibody tie ins. I am not bashing their fab work.. just the way the had it worded. -
Just the 8.25. As for the perches you can buy new ones from the dealer or from the auto parts store for less then 15 bucks. The d30 should bolt right in... just be advised to attatch the UCa's first then the Lca's... I have found that to be the easiest way

Yes those studs hold it all in. Now I got a question about this pane stuff... Do you have to advance the timing to make it work since pane has a much higher octane rating? HOw are you going to heat the pane? give me more info.. this is the way Pong appears to be pulling me to go -
You do know that a XJ axles spring perches are the wrong width to just bolt into a MJ. I like the sounds of the project, but I would swap in a 8.8 before i swapped in a d35.. thats just me. Since you are in VA and not too far away (3 or so hours) I make custom mj stuff in my driveway.. you can come on out anytime and get good work cheap since you are one of the few lwb ones that will be around for me to make templates off of

Well my lil bench top drill press isnt cutting it anymore.. mostly cause I want to use better Annular cutters instead of drill bit. So I ordered this puppy last night... and I should get it in the next 3 days :D http://www.northerntool.com/webapp/wcs/ ... ory%20Page Can you say let the drilling begin

I just looked at the JCR.... there bumpers are simple as well. the mounting system is cheesy as well. the "unibody tie in "plates have become standar on any of the better bumpers... All I am going to say is look at how well thought out RigidCo. bumper mounting system is. Terry is a helluva nice guy too. As for the light hoop... if you contact him he will add one for a small fee -

the easy way to eliminate gaps and to drill holes at the same time it to secure the floor using sheetmetal screws. Works great. It really does eliminate fitting problems and gaps in metal -
someone has been doing research on PBB

Something like that... Plastics have all these horrible acrynoms instead of names. I think that is it.... stuff is mega pricey too.. something like 250 for a 4'x8' sheet
-
I suggest you do a quick search on Pirate. There are so many different 4 link/ suspension setups on there that I am sure you can find something that will work for you. Do us a favor and research the hell out of it before you start to build. Then over build it.

I had a snake for a while after I got rid of the fishs.. that was fun too

The actually core flux core wire welding FCAW ( flux core arc welding) Most ppl think of it as "MIG" welding cause they are often used on the same style welding machine. MOst of the flux core machines are 110v and only suitable for sheetmetal, light steel welding. Since you have to chip slag, you might as well use a stick welder. As Eagle pointed out they make welding rods for everything, and I am sure they have a rod that can do sheetmetal -
I don't know the technical name for it, but it is oil impregnated plastic. Tough as hell and like pointed out slides over everything, with a whushing sound.

1/4 " eliptical setup what do you think??????
pingpong replied to rdp001's topic in MJ Tech: Modification and Repairs
I think when done right 1/4 elliptical rocks, but when not done right they suck @$$. It is just like any other properly designed 4 link except instead of using coilovers/airshocks/ captured coils, you are using the springs to hold the weight. -
What Terra flex did was make it so you shorten the x-memeber by 3" per side. The MJ has another set of mounting holes for the x-member just inboard of the frame. They also include a spacer so you can drill a second set of holes in the lip of the frame and the x-member into the mounting plate. I never used it... seemed kinda pointless

I used to be into them.. I had some Oscars and Jack dempseys.. nasty lil bastards... especially if all you feed them is live :brows:
