    Jeep Quiz

    I scored a 21 out of a 25 see how you do. http://www.patriotjeepers.com/quiz/index.html
  2. This IS A GREAT SWAP!! But be sure you get the entire assemble as I believe the hubs and calipers are different. Not to mention the lug pattern...WJ's are 5 on 5 ...if I'm not mistaken! At the very least the calipers, you may be able to use your rotors depending on the year of your rig. CW I believe you are right again, but I THINK that the stock wheel hubs will bolt on, but I am not positive on this. I am pretty sure there is a write-up somewhere discussing this swap. I tok the easy way out and just bought the Terra-Flex Hi-steer knuckle... man have they gone up in price since I bought mine
  3. http://www.off-road.com/jeep/cherokee/ http://www.off-road.com/jeep/cherokee/x ... -lift.html I believe there is an article the overload springs in the SOA configuration on this site
  4. I have been running Spider trax Wheel spaces for the last 2 yrs, with absolutely ZERO issues. Yes I did retorque them after a few miles, and used red loc-tite on them. The down side to them is they were kinda pricey at 125 a pair. I think trail sport makes a good quality set of spacers as well, I will check with my buddy who is running them on full width axle and 38's and see if he has had any issues. Patrick
  5. Pete, You are right it is the WJ. If you find one of them pull the whole front axle while you are at it, to get the passenger side hi-steer knuckle, and the steering set-up. It is beefier than the stock MJ crap. Patrick
  6. The problem with the MJ brackets from the bench seat is they put the seat to high up. I guess you could cut a section of it ou and remount them that way. I chose to go with aftermarket seats and custom brackets for the ease of use factor. Patrick
  7. It mounts up to the crossmembers that hold the gas tank straps, thn to 2 places on the frame rail. If you rig has been wheeled in the rocks like mine was you will have to grind or cut those bolts off
  8. Can you guess what my answer to this problem is  Get the sawzall or grinder out :D
  9. Thats about right. The seats are not designed to fold forward to allow access behind the seat. you might want to look at another style of seat if that is what you are looking for.
  10. I have a new in the box Long bed tank In my garage I will sell you. I ended up cutting my rig up, and sold my street jeep , so I have no need for it anymore. Let me know if you are interested. Patrick
  11. pics not working
  12. The t-case skids are pretty tough. Mine is finally so mangled that I need a new one, but that has been after 2 yrs of abuse  I suppose I could try and heat it and straigten it, but... Jeff on here is hooking me up with another one, so I am golden :D
  13. I am here to tell you to go buy some nice aftermarket seats. Lot easier to adapt, and they are more comfortable. Check out PRPseats.com Patrick
  14. Open wheeling at Crozet VA April 8 and 9 http://forums.xjsrule.com/viewtopic.php?t=115 .
  15. NO.. an XJ style hitch won't fit a MJ. Before you go an Endanger your life and everyone elses on the road, you have to decide if your vehicle is up to towing a car. If yoiur brakes are in top shape, and so is your steering I don't see why you couldn't. BUt I think with the anemic 2.5 you will have trouble. Just remember the money you save by having someone else tow your vehicle might be the cost of a new trans, clutch, or motor. I towed a CJ7 home with my MJ once. It was a 25 mile tow. Halfway through, I stopped, and called AAA and had them come get it the rest of the way. It was way to unstable for me to chance my life doing it. BTW my MJ is a 4.0 with an auto. Just my opinion
  16. I threw my gas tanki skid out as it was badly beaten and abused
  17. I had my bent and twisted D/s remade for 130, and that was including balancing. The bad thing is my rig is strictly off road, so I don't know why I had it balanced.
  18. The vibration could be many things. First I would eliminate the u-joints as the culprit, check for play, if it only does it when it is shifting into OD, there is a chance a bad TPS could be causing it. Now for the miss at idle... HMM does the rpm change when it skips?
  19. I ran a very similar setup before I went to Long arms. I will say it will flex like crazy. I bought mine used, and it was a PITA to install the drop brackets. On the MJ you won't be able to use the drop bracket brace. I almost think if you were to piece this kit together you could buy it cheaper. Also you do not need adjustable arms for this kit to work. I ran my stock uppers and lowers, and my caster was only off 1* from stock, and that was with Rusty's 6.5 coils.
  20. The easy way to do it is by pulling you radiator and all that misc. junk from in front of it to give you some room. Once you do that, it is pretty easy. Patrick
  21. We need to know what yr motor and tranny they are from. Also if you check out some of the Adapter companies websites, they can give you a more definate answer then we can. Patrick
  22. But you all are forgetting the dodge d50 that was out at that time as well. I had one with the mitsubishi 4 banger, even though the carb was a piece of crap Mikuni, and they had head cracking issues that thing was a torquey lil booger, and it cam before both the dakota and the jeep :?
  23. That pic you just posted of it looks like a sic and twisted mix of an XJ. WJ, and a dodge dakota... definately not what I would buy Patrick
  24. I really doubt Daimler is going to be coming out with anymore trucks do to the fact that it would have to compete with its own trucks that are Dodge. This is why Dodge killed the MJ back in the early 90's was cause it was competing with the Dakota line-up. I would also slap my deposit down on the gladiator, especially if it came with a diesel. Patrick
  25. I'll take the d300 :D
