  1. You need to reattach the ground in the back for the taillights. Pump grounds through there.
  2. 4.56s or 4.88s. I'm amazed that thing even goes on 3.55s.
  3. If it's a quad park I wouldn't take your MJ in, especially being a longbed.
  4. I don't believe so.
  5. Just go take a section of the hose into a local hardware or parts store, and buy some vacuum caps of that size. You don't have to plug the ports on the axle, water won't work its way into the axle through the actuator, but make sure you do it on the T-case.
  6. 7 inches long Pete, to prevent springwrap.
  7. It wouldn't directly affect anything, as those vac lines are separate from the rest of the vacuum system. You do want to pull the lines off and cap the ports on the T-case, so nothing works its way in.
  8. I unno

  10. I've always been fond of good'n'tight.
  11. 86 2.5 is TBI, 2.8 is carbed.
  12. Sounds like an AX-5 swap is in order. Have you tried putting any additives into it? The lucas trans fix stuff is supposed to work really well.
  13. I've only seen this as an option on Laredos, but I've heard of Pioneers having it.
  14. That's one of those things where, if you have to ask, it's better to let the pros do it, or go learn how to do it from a pro. Yes, you can use one from another XJ/MJ, if you can manage to get it out intact. That's not very likely. And all XJ/MJ windshields are the same, so don't let anyone tell you otherwise. Just try to avoid the Chinese made ones.
  15. Make sure you read the site rules too. There's no stupid questions, and never apologize for asking anything.
  16. Having an 89, you could have either a Peugoet BA 10/5, or an Aisin-Warner AX-15. viewtopic.php?f=9&t=11699 read that thread and you should be able to tell for sure.
  17. They had a doughnut-munching switch that bumped up the idle when they were sitting... Oh, and a speedo that went to 120ish.
  18. The arm goes to a bracket that's bolted to the axle using two of the diff cover bolts. Just bolt that bracket onto the new axle. Since you're putting in a lift, and if you want to keep the prop valve, you should take a look at this- viewtopic.php?f=9&t=17968
  19. Yeah, I suppose it doesn't surprise me. I did see an 84 XJ once with a factory bench in front.
  20. Yes they did make them, but you're probably going to be better off modifying the one you already bought.
  21. Hm, I did not know that. I've never seen an XJ with a column shift, and the only police XJ I've seen, I definitely remember it being a floor shift.
  22. viewtopic.php?f=9&t=14904 I think what you mean, is you got one without the shift indicator in the cluster. Not all automatics had that. No XJ has a column shift, and I believe 91 and 92 MJs had floor shifters, if not more years than that. That thread will tell you everything you need to know to get the shift indicator into a regular cluster.
  23. I'd say about a 7, depending on if you've got some help and a level surface to work on. Transmission has to come out, and you're going to need to disconnect the clutch line, reattach, and bleed when you put the trans back in. It's going to be a little easier with a 2.5.
  24. You'll need to use the new axle's brakes, so don't just pull the calipers off the axle and re-use them. The axle will bolt on directly with no problems, but you're going to a different brake generation. Also, the 93 axle will be a non-disconnect, which will be a nice upgrade for you. Make sure you pull the vac lines going from the T-case to the CAD on your old axle, and cap the ports on the T-case with vacuum caps. And yes... your gear ratios must match. If they don't, you're going to hear some fun noises if you try to use 4wd.
