  1. I'd do a compression test, and change the oil, to see if it recurs. Gas can be pushed down past the rings without the rings being bad.
  2. If you can find a 23 spline input for it of the same tooth cut generation for cheap, and don't mind opening up the case, go for it. But you may find that it's going to be easier to find a whole case, or one already on an AX-15. Having a loss of power when you don't have the pedal pushed in cannot be a clutch problem, so your clutch is probably fine. You may want to check the fluid level in the trans, or just flat out change it, though.
  3. When you're shopping for an AX-15, try to find yourself one out of an XJ with an external slave. YJ/TJ transmissions can work, but you'll have issues with the T-case smacking the floor. Internal slaves will also work... but then you'll still have an internal slave. What makes you think the clutch is going out? Maybe it's something we can help you fix to get you by.
  4. I honestly don't know what's worse... no pic, or a stock photo pic. You know, posting this: But selling this:
  5. Unit bearings follow the generation of the knuckle, not the shaft. Regardless of CAD, the outer shaft that goes into the bearing is the same (except regarding U-joint size). Any of the shafts will go into any of the bearings.
  6. I don't think it's a question of weight, but more of length. Regardless of exact reason, though, Pat and I did put rear ZJ coils on the front of a 2.5 MJ and it dropped it an initial 1 1/2" and settled closer to 2". Just make sure you take care of the alignment just as you would after any lift.
  7. "I wanna sell these, but I'm going to make the buyer do all the work." I hate ads like that. Doesn't take much to list basic specs and put up at least a single picture of all three of them.
  8. It won't leave your heater on, that's still controlled by the vents in the cab. Late model XJs don't even have a valve in the engine bay.
  9. Isn't it feasible to install the ignition and injection system out of a fiero?
  10. You cannot run an electronic speedo in a Renix with the factory equipment. It's not like you can just swap out the cable speedo for an electronic one. If it's the older style sender, the electronic portion simply unscrews, and you screw on a cable. If it's the newer one piece, simply take out the bolt, pull out the sender, and put a cable one in.
  11. Agreed, do it with it on the ground, I always have. Plenty of room to get under there.
  12. Coils off the rear of a ZJ will do exactly what you want. I seem to recal some trimming of the bumpstop is needed to get the coil over it.
  13. I have one of those too... but didn't get it from Rock Auto. Hand delivered by the man himself. :rock on: I haven't seen Brent around here lately though... :thwak:
  14. Pretty good tutorial for adjusting toe: http://www.4x4xplor.com/alignment.html
  15. He's got a 92, the plug isn't the same as the Renix, but will be in the same spot at least.
  16. I really need to stop looking at MJs that are for sale until I can actually afford one.
  17. A shifting issue like that, I would blame on the clutch. Check your clutch fluid level and condition, you may wish to try to bleed it, but there's a chance one of the cylinders is dying. Doesn't hurt to also check the level/condition of the trans oil. Parts available? Sure, but buying parts for that thing is going to run you well over the cost of an AX-15 conversion.
  18. You're going to be much better off lifting it 3" and keeping it SUA. It might be possible to get only 3" with SOA, but it would take some doing and the ride quality would be terrible.
  19. I'm not a fan of dishwashers. I've had 3 (or at least lived in a place that had one), and I would constantly have to rewash stuff before using it anyway. I prefer to wash them by hand.
  20. The first 6 months are free. After that, you have to start paying us to be nice.
  21. I can't believe you made her an auto. Did you figure out what was wrong with the 4.0? Last time I tried to start it, nothing would happen, but the motor still turned over with a ratchet. Figured it was a wiring issue.
  22. I'd go look at it myself if it wasn't the polar opposite of the MJ I want.
  23. Seriously, people, it's written on the side of the stupid thing. http://springfield.craigslist.org/cto/3734462483.html Jeep Camanche 86' - $1500 (Brookline) 1986 Jeep Camanche for $1500. Runs good nice older truck. This truck has 83420 miles on it. It has a 2.5liter, 4cylinder motor. It is automatic and it is two wheel drive. AC does work but needs a recharge.
