  11. Is this the dream of becoming a Life Guard at a clothing optional beach in Key West? Life is too short - don't be that old man wishing he had taken the Circus Activities Class at FSU :smart: .
  12. Very nice  . I like how well it fits on the bed with the tool box. Sweet flag pole set up too - I cannot tell you the last time I heard of someone setting up a new flagpole.
  13. I can’t seem to get the jeep to stop leaking oil :fs1: . I have replaced the vale cover twice. Changed the O-rings in the oil adapter and the list goes on and on. So, I picked up a motor out of a wrecked 98 XJ and I am going to swap that in with details as I go along. Today Bwatsoncj was looking under the hood to see if he can see something I may have missed - and he did! The oil dipstick rod was broken off at the base of the block and we had just come from three junk yards, so I was not going back to get that part. I just so happen to have another 89 block in storage to be used for a stroker build and it still had the oil dipstick assembly intact. I used a ½ inch socket to remove the nut for the three grounds. And I had to use an E7 reverse torx socket to get the bolt off the support arm of the dipstick. You can see how much is broken off the old dip stick -> Used the Snap-On easy out to get the lower piece out -> I was a lot easier to get that out than I had imagined. I reinstalled the everything and topped off the oil -> We will see if this was the complete reason for the oil leak . . .
  14. Just awesome! Yep, the same XJ> Painting the hinges to match - that is attention to detail.
  15. :jump: :clapping: Congratulations! Boys - Girls, or both?
  16. I have seen some creative things while trying to score needed parts at the Junk Yards. I really have to share some of the back yard engineering that may have contributed to the where these vehicles have ending up. Feel free to add your favorites Junk Yard mods to the thread :clapping: Cold air intake -> What you could do if your door hinges break -> :jump:
  17. Found a few pieces for the interior of the truck that I needed. Picked up all the Comanche specific interior plastic -> And a new dash with the up-country trim - > I would love to get this one really going, but the blue truck is breaking down every week :fs1:
  18. That is great! I got a set of spring perches for my new XJ44 ordered.
  19. Just thought that you might want to know that putting your tailgate down actually forces you to use more gas. It's because the pocket of air that the tailgate forms actually helps to push the air over the cab. The did this on mythbusters before. They took 2 identical trucks and ran the same speed with them and the one with the tailgate up went 30 mile further...... but hey if it works for ya go for it. My tailgate is always up. Yeah - I never saw that episode of Myth Busters. Believe it or not - I was getting slightly better MPG with the topper on :dunno: .
