  1. Looks much better than the old blue! If you frequently use that shower/bath selector on the new bath faucet be prepared to buy a spare valve ahead of time. They wear out rather fast and my parents have to swap it out every three to five years.(Switched four times every morning.)
  2. Probably weighs 500 to 1,000 pounds. Even at 500 pounds that will require lots of heavy lifting. It would be better to bring some wood to make a temporary ramp and a hand winch to slide it up on to the trailer. Also, a couple friends to help.
  3. Lots of things getting in the way. One of those things is coming to terms that our bodies will not always work perfectly. Dealing with a repetitive stress injury(RSI) in my left wrist and hand from being a software engineer. Basically have gotten nothing done on the MJ this entire weekend, but I did prepare the roll bar for paint last weekend. I am going to drop the MJ off at the dealership tomorrow and just have them get some things done for me. Better for them to handle lifting a heavy steering box and get the air conditioning working again.
  4. Thanks! I will pick one up and have it installed soon.
  5. Because of these dumb BFG MT tires I have I basically have to be super light on the throttle to keep from spinning. Detroit Truetracs are on sale right now with an additional rebate. My research says they are the best to use outside of a factory limited slip. Does anyone have experience with them in their trucks?
  6. Age or mileage, which comes first basically. I have Bilstein shocks on mine and I love them. I used the same on my Cherokee and that was good too. They are expensive though so I am curious if anyone else has cheaper recommendations.
  7. No, they are not. Do some reasearch before speculating. I did. Quadratec does not make any of their own products. They either straight up rebrand a product, such as their floor mats, or special order a product to their specifications from an existing one. The pair of preproduction Quadratec LED headlights I got my hands on one to two years ago were identical to the Truck-Lite units. If the information ggcnash dug up from the other forum is true then they have changed since then or more likely changed before they launched. Which is actually really disappointing since Truck-Lite's products are really damn good for the price.
  8. Quadratec LED headlights are either rebranded Truck-Lites or KC HiLites. Though the KC HiLites might be rebranded Truck-Lites.
  9. Sand Beige? YOU WIN! :D Everyone tends to mess that up and paint them primer grey.
  10. Yep, I knew all about that problem dasbulliwagen and luckily we never had any fault codes or check engine lights with the 2012 Pentastar, and racked up 50K on it. I checked the codes every month or so and we never had the dreaded clicking noise from the left head, so this 2012 was a one of the good ones. The 2012 had a 3.73 axle ratio and was damn quick, but the new 2015 will have the 3.21 ratio running gear. How will this affect it? I'm guessing a bit doggier off the line but better highway mileage? I had the 2012 with the 3.21 gear ratio. It was still quite quick at accelerating and I could push it up to 24 MPG.
  11. Can not actually post what real price that one wishes to be paid on Craigslist. That just attracts the scummy low-low ballers.
  12. Pete, you should totally buy this one... http://huntsville.craigslist.org/cto/5057054504.html I mean, I do not have any vested interested in selling that at all. Nope, definitely not mine. :)
  13. Put 18 to 20 PSI of boost into a 2.5L and that will be around 300 horsepower at the crankshaft. As for the cost, go build it yourself or pay someone. The receipts add up quickly into that range.
  14. The "View New Content" remembers your selections on the side. Make sure it does not have a filter selected that is effectively hiding everything.
  15. You can take off the lower panel, loosen the two side lower bolts, and remove the screws along the top then sort of flip it down and out from the right a bit. It is still a pain and the center console has to be removed as well to make it easier. Excpect a minimum of eight hours to do this.
  16. http://imgur.com/ works very well. Upload, get a link, BBCodes, copy and paste where you need them.
  17. Yep. The dash must be removed in all years of XJ and MJ models. The HVAC box splits into a top and bottom half.
  18. Facebook images shift around on their hosting platform and the URLs change due to this. Using Facebook to host images for displaying elsewhere is not recommended.
  19. Just message me the details if you find it. :D To be clear, I understand this not a problem with the driveshaft and just my MJ's particulars turning it into a giant tuning fork.
  20. The rear pinion gear in my rear differential has about 10ยบ of movement before it engages, but the pinion seems to be tight.(According to the installer it is fine.) So basically every time it loads up while coasting, clang! I put two of those silicone wrist bands on and it helped a little. Going to collect about three more and toss them on there. Wrapping my hand around it kills all the noise while manually rotating the tire. I did take the opportunity to clean some undercoating over spray off the drive shaft and polish it some. You probably have the receipt for it.
  21. Yes and yes. I found a simple and dumb potential fix searching around last night. People have used those rubber/silicone wrist bands around the shaft to dampen the vibration for this issue with some success. I grabbed a couple from the marketing department at work and plan to try that tonight.
  22. I have an aluminum driveshaft in the rear. Moving into gear is a nice metallic clang from the driveshaft which I am fine with. However, coasting it sounds like a metallic tube of rocks rattling about as the differential loads and unloads. Driveshaft has unknown miles on it, but the u-joints were replaced 4,600 miles ago when the whole MJ was put together. There is nothing visually wrong with the driveshaft and replacing it with steel seems like a waste.
  23. Wranglers... No. Mostly JK, JK EVERYWHERE. Most of the JKs are Brodozers too. They have a really nicely put together obstacle course. Most the Jeeps going through it are older Jeeps and stock four door JKs with a family of four in them. Disclaimer: I am actually here in my LJ. The MJ is in its natural habitat, a work shop, being repaired.
  24. Ah, that is part of Tapatalk. Nothing we can do about that.
  25. It is a drive on a beach. I have a LJ and it would be certainly more culturally appropriate to take it to a beach.
