MJ Junkie (6/10)

  1. I searched to try and figure it out myself. It appears to be this skyjacker 4.5" lift - https://skyjacker.com/shop/jeep/dual-rate-long-travel-xj-mj/jc455kblt-4-5-in-front-dual-rate-long-travel-coil-suspension-kit-with-rear-add-a-leafs-and-black-max-shocks/#kor_gamma_woocommerce_tabs|0 It also has oversized tires which helps lift things a bit too.
  2. FYI I bought this truck from Streetside Classics out of Florida and had it shipped to me up here in Canada. Beautiful truck, it needed some work - leaking fuel injector, non-working park brake, leaking wiper washer fluid hose, missing bed bolts, intermittent wipers didn't work, replaced shifter base and all 3 boots, flushed heater core, replaced thermostat, replaced the electric fan, flushed entire cooling system later. Plus extra work to pass inspection - park brake cables, upper ball joints, DRLs added, rear mud flaps, removed front door tint. The paint isn't the best up close (lots of nibs) but it sure is shiny. I added the hood struts, blower motor ground wire, put in correctly sized fuses, oil change, tail gate rubbers, replaced alternator, positive battery cable, and some more things I'm sure I'm forgetting. Not low mileage and not cheap but I have been dreaming about a short box red rust free 4.0 manual MJ and this was the closest to my dream truck, I plan on removing the lift kit and am debating about putting on the newer Eliminator decals since I like them better.
  3. I see about 2-3 per year, not including the 2 that I own and the 1 my son owns.

    MJ shackles

    I only need one pair.
  5. Does anyone have some mint shape grey carpet floor mats? Prefer OEM with the Jeep logo, would consider other options.

    MJ shackles

I am still looking for a pair
  7. I think my 86 Eagle has something like 7mm bayonet

    MJ shackles

Does anyone have MJ shackles? The nicer condition the better? Don't want the shorter XJ ones.
  9. I went this week and got the left rear axle. The brake drums were seized on there so I unbolted the hub and knocked it out that way. It's a shame that is in the junkyard it's in overall fantastic basically rust free shape. The decal on the hatch shows it was sold by Matrix Lada in Regina and now it's met its demise. It has been a local vehicle it's entire life, I'd bet.
  10. It turns out my buddy needs a left rear axle shaft and he's not sure what else off-hand, it's been sitting a few years He sent me a few photos, they are such cool rigs. Of course I then went to YouTube to see Nivas and found a guy that is fixing his up currently, username PLUKI 4X4 I have lost so much motivation to work on car projects this year I'm hoping any future vehicle is nearly done, like 95%+ done not needed much work at all.
  11. So.... it sounds like I can just cut down the existing factory bump stops??
  12. A buddy of mine has a Lada Niva, I haven't seen it yet. He said he was offloading it, got it stuck, and then broke a driveshaft when trying to get it out. I'm not sure how many years ago that was but it's been sitting for years now. I've been bugging him to fix it and sell it to me LOL. Do you have any Niva parts? Do you want to sell your Niva to me? I'm ready for a challenge LOL. I can't even remember the last time I saw a Lada on the road, I'd say it was in the 90's....! My understanding is that as Canadians we can import cars that are 15 years old. Do you know if there is some place I can buy a 15 year old Lada in Canada that's already been imported?
