Herculiner or Lynex or others, anyone every use on the body?

Recommended Posts

I tried Herculiner on the interior of a shell; I had problems getting a homogeneous mixture in the can (large chunks that wouldn't dissolve). It also balled up during application, but it was 104° when I was doing it :dunce: . The other problem I had was the foam roller they provided disintegrated during use. So I decided to get the truck box professionally done.

I had a F150 with LineX- it was great.

I leased a Sierra and put Hurculiner in it - no comparison but did a good job.

In my Comanche I am going to use Raptor(ebay) - have only read good things about it when surfing the net.

I got the rockers on mine sprayed at the body shop before I shot paint last summer.

I don't know the name of the stuff but he told me that it was a rocker panel product. I got it color matched to the paint so that if I ever chipped the paint (I painted over it) it would be disguised... I'm VERY happy with it so far!

I did the entire outside of my CJ with Durabak (www.durabakcompany.com) There is about a sixteen colors with or without UV protectant. They have a smooth and a textured finish available. Very happy with it so far, about 1 year. I used Herculiner under the tub and in the interior. Herculiner will fade. They offer a UV protectant but only for the black.

I herculine the inside cab and nerf bars, prep is the key I didn't use scouring pad but coarse sandpaper 80 grit, wipe down with Xylol. Get one of those mixing tool attached to a drill, stuff is pretty thick can be diluted with Xylol and get rubber gloves if this stuff gets on your skin and it drys forget about removing it almost impossible, can be removed when still moist and with xylol.

It did in the beginning but after about 2 weeks the smell was gone. I notice while installing the AC I need to do the engine floorboards under the battery holder some surface rust already knock it down just need to add some more there I knew I forgot something.
