mfpdm
I kinda wondered if it was an olympic edition or not. What all does the olympic package include? Other than the special decals, gold stripe down the side and olympic rings above the badge, I don't thing it really had options specific to it. I think I remember that it was just the pioneer package that was label as olympic editions though. Someone correct me if I'm wrong.

rubiconron
I have an 88 Sportruck that has an olympic decal on the back window. I wasn't sure if that was anything special. I didn't know that there were "olympic" edition trucks. I'm still kinda new to these.

Yea I love them and was looking for a set for a long time kinda passively. then I tripped over these at the junkyard and bought them with the tires on them. :brows:

watchamakalit
Well I made some small progress yesterday. I started off the day removing pinstrips. Here is a during shot. Here is a finished side. I must extend a big thank you to whoever it was that told me about the eraser wheel. Then I installed my "new to me" cargo light. And realized I don't have a switch. Next I started diagnosing my high idle issue. I pulled the IAC motor and guess what I found....(sorry for the crappy pic) Then I pulled the headliner and wired the cargo light. Sorry no pics of that. And today I started on my overhead console/headliner project. I am chopping a cherokee console and recovering it and the headliner. Here is the cut console. So far that is all I got but I will keep the updates coming.
watchamakalit
Spent the morning at the Junkyard. Got a switch for my cargo light and an extra cargo light that might be forsale. I also got a full gauge cluster, a center console, some extra tailights (might be for sale), under dash courtesy lights, light for the cigarette lighter ring, short visors with vanity lights, new steering wheel center. There is probably more but I can't think of it right now. I am headed to another junkyard and will post pics later.

watchamakalit
Picked up the axles trans and tcase today. Have a few questions. Do I already have wiring in my truck for NSS, TCU, 4wd indicator, and vaccum lines for the Tcase or do I need to run all this stuff? Will my current crossmember work with the auto 4x4 or do I need to pick up a new one? My D30 came without the CAD is there an easy way to shim it without the fork being in there and then just put a plate over the acess? I think this is all for now. Any help is greatly appreciated. I am gonna start swapping in axles tomorrow night. Wish me luck.
watchamakalit
Fedex payed me a visit yesterday and what did I get..... First step was to backfill the corners since I am not going to swap to the 96+ fenders.... Next was tear down the old clip... Then it was time for a test fit.... And then the final product after trimming the front fenders minus the sidemarker lights. Gotta get some more screw inserts so I can install them. All in all it was pretty straight forward pull the old off put the new on. I did fab some brackets to attach the fenders to the new header panel as it mounts differently than the old but other than that it was really simple. mfpdm
Looking good but I've got to ask, why don't you want to swap the fenders to 97+?
watchamakalit
Looking good but I've got to ask, why don't you want to swap the fenders to 97+? Just don't see the point. My old ones will line up fine once I shave the front corners and then I don't have to worry about the rear flares not matching the fronts. Guess its just kinda my way of being different. ;)
90PioSport99
Looks good, how does the Rock Auto header panel fit as far as lining up with the hood, tops of fenders, etc?
Sir Sam
Looking good but I've got to ask, why don't you want to swap the fenders to 97+? Just don't see the point. My old ones will line up fine once I shave the front corners and then I don't have to worry about the rear flares not matching the fronts. Guess its just kinda my way of being different. ;) Or you could do like this guy with the rear flares: As you can see he has 97+ flares in the front, and 96- flares in the rear that have just had the ridge shaved off. Alternatively you could take 4 97+ rear flares and splice them together to make them fit, this is what I will be doing on my 2500 flares.
