  1. Hey guys, I have transplanted the complete drivetrain and wiring harness/PCM from a 1996 XJ into my 1988 MJ. I have a verified good battery, and have power going to the lighting circuits, but there is no power going to the ignition switch. Thus far I have not joined the XJ front harness to the MJ rear harness as I’m just trying to get it to run. Does this sound like an ASD relay issue? Will the ASD still allow it to crank and supply power to the other circuits? I do know for a fact that this harness/pcm is good because it ran just fine in the donor vehicle. And all fuses in the underhood PDC are good. Thanks in advance for any ideas/help. -Collin
  2. Hey I recognize it! Only because I'm the one that sold it to you :D Interior is looking great man! Can't wait for you to get it finished!
  3. When repairing a buddy's Comanche we found that late 90's Ranger shackles are almost identical to Comanche. Definitely close enough to use. Available in stock (usually) at any parts store. If you're in a hurry.
  4. Did you see my offer above?
  5. I have one I'd go $20 shipped on. Alternatively, I have a 96+ manifold and ps bracket that would give you the new belt routing and tensioning if you'd rather go that route. I'd let the manifold go for shipping cost and charge $20 on the bracket (it would fit in the same box). Let me know if interested. Thanks, Collin
  6. Still looking for a fog light switch? If so, I have several, let me know. Thanks, Collin
  7. I have one from a 90, and one from an 88 I believe. Both would physically fit but might have different plugs. Interested at all?
  8. I'm pretty sure I have one from an 89 or 90. If I do, would you prefer me to chop out just the fuel injector harness or do you want the whole thing?
  9. Does anyone have a write up of how to power the 97+ door harnesses if your MJ came with no power options? Retaining the original MJ dash. Thanks in advance. -Collin

Are you still looking for one? I have the style that bolts under where the console latches for sale. Please pm me if you are. Thanks, Collin
  11. I have an assembly for $40 shipped. If interested, let me know. Thanks, Collin
  12. Mike, Cool to see what you've done to that Jeep. I was the previous owner who did a lot of the work to it. I sold it on eBay to a fella a couple years ago from Omaha when it was still silver. If you have any desire for old pictures of the girl let me know, I have all of them since it was stock. -Collin
  13. Joe, that is a huge help. Thanks so much man!
  14. Has anyone on here adapted a 97+ headlight harness to an MJ? Whenever I have done the 97+ conversions in the past I've just used the MJ harness and settled for just one parking light and modified the other connections. This go 'round we're doing it to one of my friends' XJs and his original connector is corroded anyway so we want to do it the proper way. Can anyone provide a MJ to 97+ color to color wiring cheat sheet for me? Greatly appreciate any help. Thanks, Collin
  15. jpnjim you hit the nail right on the head with what I'm thinking. The only way I'm going to diverge from what you did is take the passenger floor bracing out and weld the XJ braces in exactly the spot they were in the XJs. I already have the charcoal carpet out of a 99 that will be cut down and going in. I'm going to go out with a couple fresh drill bits and try to get some more of these spot welds up, I will keep you guys posted on my progress. Thanks!
  16. Hey guys, it's been forever since I've posted here but I just picked up a really rusty (especially in the floors) 89 Comanche Eliminator. I'm going to start a build thread too so I'll try to keep this one on topic. I'm looking to remove all of the stock bracing that runs forward/backward and the little half pieces that run side to side. For replacement I'm going to use 95+ Cherokee braces so I can use the newer seat brackets as well. Besides adding the new braces and drilling out the probably 50+ spot welds and then plug welding them back to new metal is there anything else I need to do? Has anyone done this in the past? Please help out if you know anything. Thanks, Collin
  17. Thanks a ton for doing this Brent, what a great opportunity for all of us. If you get another one going, I am down again.
  18. Not necessarily, the problem is, if he uses the 99+ intake manifold he's going to have to match a newer (96+) power steering pump with it. The older OBD-I sensors will need to be used in the 99+ manifold as well. I would highly suggest going that route, it's good for a few hp anyway. Also to what Eagle said, most 99s still use the dizzy, I have a 99 XJ that I bought just because of that since I don't like the 00-01s that use coil packs. A lot of things seem fishy about what the shop told you, could you take some pictures of what you're working with so we could help you? 91 and 99 alternators I know for a fact mount the same way as well.
  19. Looks good, how does the Rock Auto header panel fit as far as lining up with the hood, tops of fenders, etc?
  20. When people are mirroring exactly what I say, you know it's all good information  .
  21. It should take a lot of tightening to get it to the popping stage, I would guess you have either a faulty cap or the threads on the bottle are screwed up. I would say maybe try a new cap and if that doesn't work I'd go ahead and convert it to the open system.
  22. x2 here, and it allows for plenty of axle droop.
  23. I like the Dodge Charger R/T wheels...my brother has them on his 1995 ZJ.
  24. 96+ Cherokees have problems with driveshaft vibes when they're lifted. Especially at 3.5", I could see it having some pretty wicked vibrations. I lifted my 99 XJ 2.5" and it required a transfer case drop. Just another thing to be aware of.
