  1. I've also done it but to an 88. Like on mine since the engine bay was made for the 4.0 it was no problem as far as the hood latch and such goes. The 86 was only made for the shorter engines with a different hood though. You may have to swap the hood and radiator crossmember as well, I'm not sure.
  2. I like the fact that you put your Jeep parts on the Oriental rug :D. My dad loves when I do that. All kidding aside those are some beefy looking springs though, we expect to see pics when they're done :redX:.
  3. Good to know, thanks.
  4. The eBay one...is it the one pictured or is that just a generic photo?
  5. 96 was still the older style cherokee, the year it switched was 97+ They actually changed seat styles in 95. The interchange years were 1984-1994 1995-2001 It's all about the seats.
  6. Cheers and Happy Turkey day to all.
  7. Another thing that just popped into my head. Have you checked all associated fuses? The one inline with the TCU and the 7.5A one in the fusebox? I assume you probably installed new ones, just thought I'd throw another idea out there.
  8. Did you adjust the TV cable properly?
  9. Heh, you must be talking about the EGR tube. I just tend to weld those shut on all my rigs but if you're in an inspection state that won't work.
  10. I'll be voting Giuliani or Romney, even though I know it won't do any good because everyone in America has a bad taste in their mouth for Republicans right now.
  11. Well a lake or an ocean would've been too clean for this Comanche. I'm thinking maybe one of those ponds or marshes that junkyards drain their use oil and antifreeze into. I mean, the inside of this thing smelled like the epitome of death.
  12. It's all good buddy, someone has to. No it doesn't/didn't run. And it didn't come with a bed either. I will find a pretty clean one somewhere though.
  13. Didn't say I didn't appreciate the input bud :D. All I'm saying is no friggin way. I'd twist the unibody up quick with that.
  14. Yeah it's not as bad now, the vinyl floormat was almost going to get saved but there was one long tear in it, so I even pitched it too. I don't think I got hurt too bad on the truck as a whole though :D. The 97+ interior will cost me around $175 from the junkyard for a dash, steering column and console. I will be using the older style bucket seats which I already have laying around. Well, it was a 2.5, AX4 or AX5(I forget which), 2wd. Right now I'm debating...I have 2 4.0 litre XJs and a 4.0 litre MJ and although I like the power of 4.0s if this one could be an OBD-II 2.5L, 5spd, 4x4 I may try it that way. I would love to find a 97+ XJ that was a 2.5L 5 spd because I know they made them. If I can find one I will go that route, but if not I'll just slam a 4.0, AW4, NP-242 combo in it probably. The only reason I'd go 4cyl is for gas mileage, but it's not that important. Let me know if you guys have any other questions/comments. -Collin
  15. Exactly and isn't increasing the pulse rate going to burn the injectors out much quicker? That's the only thing I would worry about.
  16. Well as some of you probably know I was looking to sell my other Comanche to get a new "project" one. Well, turns out I had no reasonable offers on my other one so I just got this one anyway. It ended up costing me the equivalent of about $60. Sat in a field for about 2 years before my buddy Dustin (Comancheon33) got it and then he traded it to me for a set of Mickey Thompson wheels. Anyway, the field didn't treat it to good, the reason Dustin nicknamed it Mighty Mouse is because it was a home for atleast two mice because we found them dead when vacuuming it out. There was also the spine to another animal and a lot of shotgun shells. It was a good find indeed, but for $60 I don't care, it's a Comanche shell, and that's all I needed. Here's the before pictures as in before I started working on it... Actually as of right now, the whole interior minus the heater box and steering column is gutted. It smells about 10x less (but not better) than it did before. The plan is to more or less copy 1999MJ on this one too, just like I am with my 90 XJ. It is going to get all 99 stuff, dash, header panel, interior wiring, etc. It will have a moderate lift or possibly just a set of ZJ V8 coils so I can clear 30x9.50s. I have a line right now on a set of Canyons pretty close to me with almost brand new 30x9.50s on them, so we'll see if that pans out. Let me know what you guys think. I will post after pictures this weekend.
  17. So are we thinking it's a conversion XJ of some sort then? I think it's got to be judging from the screw on woodgrain and body kit huh?
  18. It is 8mm, go to your local auto parts store and get them to cut you a 6" long piece of 8mm key stock. Get the plug out and replace it with an M18x1.50 hex headed oil drain plug. The actual drain plug on the Peugeot is probably more like a 9 or 10mm though because when I tried an 8mm in there it just spun. Again though 3/8 was too big.
  19. Yeah his is an AW4 though, so I think it would have 3:55s.
  20. I couldn't really tell you if they were standard, but I don't believe so. One of my buddies on here (Comancheon33) has a 91 Eliminator and his didn't come with one, I don't know about 92s though.
  21. Sorry what I meant was it should be a Dana 30 in front and a Dana 35 in the rear.
  22. is that the yellow one No, it's the white one.
  23. Should have a D30/D35 with 3:55 gears.
