I've been tinkering with the truck as weather permits. Truck sits in a metal shop so if it's 90º out, its about 130º in the shop so its been slow progress. I replaced the padding, put new shifter spacer where mine was disintegrated along with new rubber shifter dust cap. Can't believe that change alone and how it made the shifter feel so solid again. I had sent out the seatbelts to get new webbing as mine were just disgusting from age. All new LED bulbs and painted the bare rusted under dash metal parts flat black. Looks like a new under there. I also replaced my steering column as it was all jacked up. Super happy I can turn the key to accessory to listen to the radio and have wipers work again let alone high beams! Hopefully I will get the seats back this week. We bought a 2024 Model 3 Tesla and that car has been fun to drive. My wife needed a new set of wheels and since it can drive itself, she is happy.

Looking good! If you can, get a build thread going so you can document your progress along the way. Also, I would emphatically suggest you make sure there are zero water leaks in the cab before buttoning everything back up :L:

This is looking amazing.

Where did you get a new shifter rubber a dust cap from?  That's on my list of need to do.

Looks good! I think you have your shifter boot rotated 180°, the high part at the bottom should be towards the dash.

Seats are back in and they look awesome. Took the truck out for a drive after it has been sitting idle for almost 2 months. It all feels great! The console lid was crappy so I ordered another on eBay. It arrived today and it completes the look although these pics are before I installed it.

Looking good! I’m in the middle of some interior work as well. Btw, @Dzimm makes some console replacement latches if you need them. Upgraded design over stock :L:

Thank you! I'll look into it. My console has a piece of plastic broken off where the lid latch would hold on to. Haven't delved into that yet.

That looks nice!  I have to say I prefer the pre-97 center console that you used as compared to the 97+ the prior owner(s) used for mine.  For me, it just looks right.  But then again my first vehicle was an HO era XJ.  So I'm probably biased!

What does the 97 console look like? I would have loved having the handbrake in the console rather than the footwell.

Chico, I got it from a seller on Ebay. While it looks nice, the extended adapter collar sucks as it pushes the wheel closer to you. Not much of a choice since it has to be like that to make room for the horn wiring and button. I bought a thinner version but the horn wouldn't fit to work. If you can live with that, it's a great set up. I have to live with it.
I see the price went up. I paid $280 or so. I know other sellers were in the $350 range when I bought mine. The leather on the wheel feels nice too. The whole assembly is made in China but I guess everything is these days if that matters.
